Abba Kyari is a popular name among kanuris in Borno and is true there are many Abba Kyari which is confusing....but this one can't be just 67, looks early 70s if they ask me but 80s it's over... Civil servants in Nigeria are known to reduce their age so he might be up to 70 but this is assumptions
You right, you only got it wrong when you put it out like only civil servants reduced their age, it is even worse in private sector if you know you know. Most people have even forgetting their correct Date of Birth! Do a survey of people around you and you will be shocked.

Also Kyari was not much of a civil servants, he worked more in the private sector than public.

Abba Kyari was in his 80s
The late Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to Buhari wasn't in his 80s.

Apparently there has been a mix-up about Abba Kyari ex-army chief & gov of Northern central; Abba Kyari CoS; (another) Abba Kyari is doing excellently well in the police & youngest DCP ever in Nigeria.

A distinguished Abba Kyari, ex-Brigadier of Nigerian Army and Gov at a point in time, was born 1938 & died 2018.

This University of Cambridge and Harvard trained lawyer Abba Kyari CoS was born 1952, meaning he died aged 67yrs.

Yes, Wikipedia puts the info there but it is strange both persons with same name are born same day and month in 1938. Buhari looks much older than Kyari Chief of Staff so if Kyari is 82yrs, then Buhari is over 90yrs alongside OBJ, Babangida, Danjuma.

PS: Buhari finally put it to rest, Kyari was 67years.

A lot!

What do you need to give to the households? Food staples, thats all! Nothing perishable since power is not regular.

Rice
Corn
Beans
Chicken
Eggs
Yam
Gari
Elubo
Oil

Source the commodities from local farmers and thus re-distribute the wealth within the community. Zero import and zero outsourcing for anything available locally.

You will be surprised how many people you can feed with just 2million sef following above guidelines.
Someone (an agency) shared #52bn and no impact.
Someone (another agency) wants to share #7.7bn and you believing it will have impact. Are they not all politicians, the LGA chair to Gov to Minister.

That aside, looking at your postulation, won't it be best for LGA to use their monthly allocation to do it (at least, no LGA receives less than #50m from federal allocation monthly asides IGR). Hon. Peller should use his position to influence his 4 LGAs to try it out and not wait for FG, at least for now.

Importantly also, #10m is not enough for anything; do u know how many wards, villages, hamlet, community, town, streets, in a LGA; perhaps you under-estimate the size of Nigeria.

#10m can not feed a LGA in a day not to talk of 2weeks.

If truly he said this, then he is not in tune with reality because what will #10m do in a LGA.

Testing has been ongoing before it and other donations by corporate bodies.

viktormed:
I really feel sorry that in 2020, people still havent learnt their lessons and still drop their hard earned money into the hands of money doublers. Nothing about the MBA forex system shows me that they arent a Ponzi Scheme. Unfortunately I have a family member with millions of naira invested there and Im am hoping and praying this person comes to their senses before the MBA scheme crashes.

Do your due diligence before you invest with any organisation. I look at MBA forex and i see so many red flags:

1. Their CEO and top leadership arent verifiable, have no background in finance or investment and simply cant be traced online - in essence they are ghosts. They WILL Disappear one day, leaving their workers and investors to lick their wounds. Someone should prove me wrong and furnish me with the linkedin profile of the CEO, Maxwell Weli Odum. Where did he come from? Is that even his real name?

2. They brandish EFCC Special Control Against Money Laundering Certificate as a way to prove legitimacy - Unfortunately , that certificate proves nothing as SCUML was set up to tackle MONEY LAUNDERING especially as it pertains to. terrorism. The SCUML and EFCC DO NOT regulate business practices for legitimacy. So their business model is not of interest to the EFCC, it is what they do with their accounts that matter. The fact that they use this certificate in their sales pitch makes me queasy

3. If it sounds too good to be true then it is too good to be true! An investment vehicle that can yield 180% per year is incredulous! HOW?! Some of you guys keep mouthing FOREX as though FOREX is an hidden gold mine where investors just pump out money for free. For you to be able to pay your investors 15% every month means you should be making maybe 25 to 30%! Thats over 300% and they claim these returns are GUARANTEED! HOW! The only plausible explanation is that "this is a pyramid scam". They will make payouts so that the base of the pyramid can continue to grow. Then one day, the payouts will stop. It will surely stop, because like most pyramid schemes, they will get overwhelmed with 'greedy investors' who want to invest 4million Naira and collect #600,000 per month! In some way you could say that the people who would definitely lose their money to MBA forex would 'deserve ' it because they are greedy and stupid.

But my people will still invest or rather dump their money down this drain while deceiving themselves with CAC certificate and the fact that others are getting paid. Please remember that MMM paid out investors until December 2016 when 3million people lost all their money. 7000 people lost 7billion Naira. Every year a new scam is born and greedy lots get taken.
Beats my imagination how people fall for such.
SCUML displayed as EFCC registration grin. Same way phoney firms claim they have CBN approval just because they either have an acknowledgement copy bearing CBN stamp and/or collects dollars. Some even go as far as claiming their farms is insured by xyz insurance company hence your investment is secured undecided.

Hi Nairalanders,

I have 4m Naira I want to invest in an Insured and SEC approved Investment.

I don't want anybody suggesting I partner with their personal business,I don't want Ponzi schemes. All suggestions should come in the comment section,I will not contact anybody privately.

Thank you all.
You already know what you want, a lot of experienced SEC licenced Capital Markets Operators are all over Nigeria, Lagos to Abuja, with proven track records.
However, investment is not insurable since it is not a certainty.

Unit schemes listed on the Stock Exchange are also good for you.

Finally, don't be swayed by "CBN licenced or certified" line, only SEC has the power to licence and sanction erring investment and CMO firms and not CBN.

The Investors’ Protection Fund (IPF), a special-purpose fund set up by the NSE and stockbroking firms to compensate investors for any infraction by erring stockbrokers as NSE is a self-regulatory organisation.

SEC has disciplinary actions against erring licence holders which could get to the court - Investment & Securities Tribunal (IST) if necessary.

Hello house, could someone pls help share the full cost of clearing a lexus rx 350 from 2013 to 2015 model. I am in the process of buying one and trying to plan my budget. Thanks in advance.
2013 model should be nothing less than #1m should be paid to Govt coffers (i.e surface duty, surcharge, etls & vat) to forestall 'alert' and for relative peace of mind on the road.

Adding other charges & 'payments' should come to about #1.4m (if you are lucky).

PS: I am not an agent, just my opinion based on experience importing vehicles.

•SARS officers were on illegal duty

While a police statement said the footballer jumped out of the vehicle in an attempt to escape and was crushed by an oncoming vehicle, Sanni Abubakar, a friend and teammate of Kazeem, who was also arrested by the SARS officials, said the SARS officials pushed Tiamiyu out of their Toyota Sienna vehicle before he was killed by an oncoming car.

While speaking with our correspondent on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed that the erring officer had been dismissed from service.

“The SARS officer Olaniyi Ogunsoro has been dismissed from service,” Oyeyemi said.

“In fact, we learnt from him that the SARS officers were actually on illegal duty and they were even away from their area of operation.

Lalasticlala
The Police PRO should also be sacked for lying and inadvertently inciting the public (to protest), recall he initially issued a stupid statement without verification saying that the deceased wanted to escape not the police man pushed him.

The same Oyeyemi exonerated the killer cop without any orderly room trial or asking questions from eyewitness(es). He went ahead to state they were not SARS and regular police on legal duty. A probe should be commissioned to ascertain whom authorised Oyeyemi to release such lies to the public leading to loss of more lives.

Until people are held accountable for whatever statements they make, such will continue to happen.

The protest and subsequent killings of some other people would probably had never happened if the Police PRO Oyeyemi had shown some human feelings, pleading for calm while the issue is properly investigated and erring party(ies) fished out, instead he threw a grenade into a burning fire with his insensitive and demeaning statement.

The Police authorities (and especially all other security agencies) should stop choosing misnomer as PRO who are tactless, and completely inhumane in Public Relationship.

I do hope he and his ilks will get to read this and learn accordingly. Bad eggs denting image of Nigeria and Nigeria Police.

Quite Interesting engagement.. So after taking my "critical illness" payment while critically ill & i refuse to die.. What next.. Since the insurance is yearly, can i claim another "critical illness" cashout next year? I am asking for a friend grin grin grin
Permit me to quote myself again: On the other hand, Insurance's Critical Illness policy covers critical/terminal/chronic (some incurable but manageable) illnesses like cancer, stroke, heart attack and kidney disease.

With the little knowledge I have, 99.9% of people with any critical illness never get to recover to go back to normal life especially paid employment; the employer often excuse them from work to go take care of themselves thus ultimately leaving the job.

Best for 'your friend' to live and enjoy his pension via Programmed Withdrawal or Annuity (and other savings and investment), instead of dying from a critical illness and dependants enjoy his Group Life funds (would be more painful if the beneficiary squander the money).

To directly answer your friend's question: Yes, he/she can be added to (another) Group Life scheme if he/she makes full recovery to get back to work at the same company or another company. The evidence of full recovery will be needed and confirmed by a medical test with cost borne by insurance company.

A quick example to buttress the point above is the case of a retiree who has left employment and on PW or Annuity getting another job and starting a new RSA (retirement savings account) afresh.

Thank you.

The group life insurance I know of & which is required by pencom is "death in service" insurance & not a health cover..
Critical illness cover is very optional & at the discretion of the employer.. I doubt if a channels TV or regular Nigerian company will want to incure such extra cost.. Maybe Shell & Chevron grin grin

So my point is I don't see where "group life insurance policy" & pencom comes into play with respect to prevention of Mr Vincent's death..
Let me quote my first point again: "A Group Life Insurance policy in compliance to the Pension Reform Act 2014 (amended) with/without Critical Illness extension depending on the assurer, could have come in to pay for the surgery and possibly safe his life."

The assurer is very key, reason any one buying insurance or any other product/service should ensure he/she is talking to the right people.

You are absolutely correct about Group Life is a "death in service" insurance, I would like to tell you that is the minimum expectation by law; insurance policies can be enhanced with/without additional payment.

For instance, the minimum requirement for motor vehicle is Third Party, but some insurers do have the enhanced Third Party motor vehicle insurance.

Thank you for the engagement.

I doubt if group policy will cover for such surgeries.. 500k surgery limit things... Bn their done that grin grin
I am sure it would have depending on the extension/clauses on the Group Life cover.

However, I think you mixing up Insurance with/for HMO from your statement above. Did you buy HMO or Insurance cover?

Both are distinct and different: HMO covers normal sickness like malaria, typhoid, and has surgery limit depending on the cover purchased abinito.

On the other hand, Insurance's Critical Illness policy covers critical/terminal/chronic (some incurable but manageable) illnesses like cancer, stroke, heart attack and kidney disease.

Meanwhile, some HMOs do have agreement/affiliation with BUPA to cover some of these critical illness as well.

Unfortunately, most Nigerians don't read/listen to understand especially when payment is involved. We had rather wait for govt to do everything.
PoliticsRe: Vincent Danture Is Dead: Governor Inuwa Yahaya Mourns Channels TV Reporter by DelTel(m): 7:48pm On Feb 19, 2020
So sad, Rest in Peace.

A Group Life Insurance policy in compliance to the Pension Reform Act 2014 (amended) with/without Critical Illness extension depending on the assurer, could have come in to pay for the surgery and possibly safe his life.

Unfortunately, the society enjoys chasing shadows and not asking the right questions as can be seen in his colleagues contributing money and not asking the employer to show evidence of insurance cover according to the law.

Likewise, the alumni association can have similar insurance policy.

Please, every employee should ask his/her employer to provide evidence of Group Life Insurance in their name. It is compulsory.

Peaceful protest is the right of citizens thus the protest is welcomed.

Whilst acknowledging the inconvenience and suffering of commuters, we should understand that the primary responsibility of govt is the protection of lives and properties (especially against external aggression).

No sensible govt will ignore the security threats of menacing and rampaging unknown people (mostly foreigners that doesn't understand our language without any traceable address) driving against traffic, knocking down themselves, passengers, pedestrians and destroying vehicles leading to loss of lives and breaking legs.

Once again anyone is free to protest but ensure it is peaceful and not hijacked by miscreants.

Goodluck to OccupyLagos.
TravelRe: Okada Ban: Who Is Experiencing This Thing In Lagos Of Late? by DelTel(m): 4:23pm On Feb 07, 2020
uche87:
Here is a decent explanation for their present predicament: several people have vehicles in Lagos State. The issue is that due to the regular incidents of traffic gridlocks, many leave their vehicles at home and go to work by public transport. According to the beliefs of these people, it's cheaper to commute by public transport although it could be quite uncomfortable. People have also cultivated the habit of using motorcycles to escape heavy traffic especially in the Victoria Island/Lekki axis of Lagos State. With the partial ban placed on Okada and Keke Napep, most people keeping their vehicles for rare usage mostly during weekends and special social engagements have rolled them out in obedience to the doctrine of necessity.

From the look of things, people might be staying indoors more on weekends except occasions they need to attend are very important. As Sanwo-Olu remains resolute about his decision to ban Okada and Keke, a massive protest has been planned this weekend to mount serious pressure on him.
The traffic jam is majorly as a result of the construction works going on simultaneously at major parts of Lagos, i.e. the dismantling of roundabouts at Allen, Lekki, Falomo etc; road repairs at Ojota axis of Ikorodu Road, Ogudu-Alapere and Anthony-Gbagbada axis of Apapa Oshodi Expressway, Berger end of the Lagos Ibadan expressway and more.

Anyone is free to protest, including you, but ensure it is peaceful and not hijacked by miscreants or be ready to face the consequences.
