The fire-extinguisher owners are forced to carry in vehicles can not put out fire, you can even see some fire-extinguisher canisters used on this particular vehicle but still burnt completely. I once lost a car to fire few years ago and more than 20 fire-extinguisher canisters were deployed by fellow motorists but weren't able to stop the fire.

Have you ever thought about it why civilized societies don't enforce it like we do in Naija and most vehicle manufacturers don't include them in vehicles as well. The policy is irrational just like the policy on reflector sticker we once had.

Govt should adequately equip the Fire Service to combat fire whenever it occurs, either at home or office or on the road. Corporate bodies especially insurance companies should support the Service. The Federal Fire Service should enforce and ensure all public buildings have Fire Insurance so insurance companies can remit the stipulated percentage of the premium to equip the FFS accordingly.

Vehicles should also be properly checked periodically before licensing and granting Certificate of Roadworthiness by relevant agencies.

Please note water can't quench all fires, it can actually make some fires worse especially a vehicle burning. Water can't put out fuel-induced or electrical or gas fires.

Better put, water can either feed, be indifferent or quench some fire. Water can quench burning solids like paper, wood, coal by cooling it and then deprieve the fire of oxygen. So please educate Uncle to stop carrying cans of bottle water in his vehicle abeg.

Parts available and usual Toyota maintenance since it's a Toyota Camry just the coupe version, it is also friendly.

Okay, 6times multiplied by #4 is #24 so why charge #200 each for both documents. #400 on over 6million vehicles in Lagos comes to over #2.4billion annually filtered away to private pocket cronies of govt (commercial vehicles Roadworthiness is 6months so they pay twice a year).

Meanwhile, i haven't ever gotten a single SMS for either vehicle License or Certificate of Roadworthiness expiration compulsorily collected by LASG. I want to believe its same for a large chunk of Lagosians.

Banks and Telcos wanted to do same but it was kicked against but Lagos State govt is getting away with it.

LASG started with vehicle license years ago and saw people didn't kick against it, 2019 they added Roadworthiness to make double money.

I just checked now *554*38# and saw they charge #20 to confirm genuineness of a document issued and uploaded by them, with no alternative means like a website to confirm.

SMS is always sent to registered phone numbers. Maybe it wasn’t your phone number that was used to process your vehicle license or road worthiness. That is why you didn’t get the sms

I have asked more than 50 vehicle owners with correct phone numbers like mine if they ever got any SMS and not one person did.

Assuming the SMS is sent out, is #200 justified as SMS fee. It is sad commentary when a govt decides to cheat or fleece the populace charging exorbitantly for a service we all know is #4, or do they send up to 50 SMS messages to each vehicle owner.

What moral right does the same govt have to adjudicate and/or sanction any monopoly service provider that cheats the citizenry.

No advantage of a particular state motor vehicle number plate over another. A board called Joint Tax Board was formed in 2004 (Personal Income Tax Act) led by FIRS and all States board to harmonize all taxes, including road tax and motor vehicle documentation fees.

Meanwhile, Lagos State as the commercial nerve centre and port of entry for 99% of vehicles generate over 80% of vehicle registration in Nigeria.

Lagos State is the first state to computerize the motor vehicle License documentation making it seamless and can be done even by banks across the state. Other States should have catched up by now but .......... Funningly, Lagos State hasn't fully computerize the Certificate of Road-worthiness.

Craftily, Lagos State added SMS fee #200 claiming they send 3 SMS messages which is never sent, isn't SMS even #4 and bulk SMS cheaper! (Calculate #200 on each of the millions of vehicles registered and renewed in Lagos). Also Radio License fee should be collected by Local Government, Lagos charges #500 for that annually.

In essence, it is more expensive to register and renew vehicle documents in Lagos.
