Dedetwo:Idiotic seriously??!! A govt implements a law to secure and safeguard the citizenry and you call it idiotic. I advise you to, personally, lead the protest march to Govt House and also make the State ungovernable. |

solmus:It is sad and uncharitable to address students of a whole University yahoo-boys just because they protested and stood for their rights! Which University in Nigeria doesn't have some students involved in Yahoo? Ajimobi (Ladoja, Akala, Oyinlola, Aregbesola, Chancellor Tinubu) really messed up totally on LAUTECH, education is the bedrock of any society, he benefited from free education up to the USA. His children attended some of the best schools in the world while his action/inaction put some students life in jeopardy, no excuse (even the hogwash postulated by you) is tenable. Some of those students might never get their lives back on track because of his action/inaction over the matter. God will surely judge him and all the governors involved from both Oyo and Osun States. Only an insensitive person will make light of a citadel of education locked for more than 3years and students left to lose opportunities in a country where age is considered, for most, if not all recruitments in the private sector. Did Ajimobi & his govt diligently prosecute the so-called Auxiliary (I don't know him) in the court or just locked him up extra-judicially? Because Makinde or any government couldn't have released him from court ordered jail without a State Pardon. Same Ajimobi pardoned the woman convicted of killing her husband. Finally, history is never kind to anyone who toys with education, ask ex-gov Mbadinuji of Anambra who ingloriously emerged as the only PDP governor (1999 set) to be denied a second term ticket by his party majorly because of 2 reasons, one was because Primary Schools in the state were locked for over 7months! PS: Ajimobi retired as MD/CEO, National Oil & Chemical (privatized to later be Conoil PLC) not vice chairman of ExxonMobil. A line should be drawn between bluntness and uncouth utterances not befitting of any occupant of a governance position. Proverbs 12:18 The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. |
Lagos IPP situated in Marina powers the State House, General Hospital and some State projects around Marina including the street-lights. This was achieved during Fashola's tenure. Initially, it was not allowed but IPPs were done by Tinubu around Ikeja (alongside Enron) and Odili around Omoku (alongside Rockson Engineering). Delta State IPP situated at Oghara (Ibori's hometown) by Uduaghan without any provision for gas supply has been abandoned after over N200bn spent and the incumbent governor Okowa has categorically stated he can not continue the project. Recall he was the SSG to Uduaghan. Former Gov. Gbenga Daniels of Ogun State spent billions on his own IPP conceived to power the State Secretariat and environs. Nothing came out of it during his 8years reign. In summary, most State govt sees it as another avenue to loot thus deliberately put out the wrong narrative of national grid. |
Babadee1900:Please you need to go back to where you bought your battery 2 months as that's is purely a rip-off, at least if you bought it new. A good battery should last more than 2years, Korea brand (I have Falcon battery, Korea). TRANE batteries last as much as 5years.

andrewtosin:Based on the criteria you listed above, Camry 2006 best Avalon 2007 in parts availability, second-hand value and fuel economy (most Camry 2006 are i4 engines while all Avalon are v6 engines). I would say Avalon 2007 is more durable than Camry 2006. |
glolomoh:Cheapest customs clearance in Lagos is #400,000. Minimum and rare land transportation and shipping is $1100 @ #362 to a dollar is #396,000. Balance of #204,000 leaves about $562 to buy and pay auction charges. Final analysis: add some money (#250k or more) to buy Tokunbo or make do with a naija-used vehicle inspected by a competent personnel. |
Politicians, especially the old folks, are the problem we have. How can this spent-force utter such gibberish that an Emir wants to be a VP .SLS might have lobbied for Kwankwaso but definitely not for himself. SLS is not a politician and already the Emir of the prestigious Kano stool. Enemy-of-progress oldman loves the fight between royalty (SLS) and government (Ganduje). Sadly, he was not old, or man enough to mention the name of the "....known enemy of Kano State and he has spent the whole of his life abusing and insulting Kano and Kano people" but could drag the VP, Tinubu and Akiolu into the discuss (plus an ex VP). |
What a man can do, a woman can do better. Like Isabel, like D...z..i. UK is the safe haven for most corrupt African leaders. |
This is one of the reasons it's advisable to buy quality automotive batteries and original battery terminals with adequate protection for your vehicles. TRANE batteries gives you the extra protection (in-built terminal cover) alongside the battery thus your terminal will not touch the battery holder or bonnet or any iron causing ignition of fire. Furthermore, Nigerians needs to abide by battery specifications prescribed by vehicle manufacturers (do not install 75ah battery for a vehicle with 60ah specification for instance). Finally, don't forget your Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance from a reputable licensed Insurance company.

They should declare Owambe, TGiF, 17:59 etc and throw open passage to Nigerians abeg. |
Why are Nigerians so hypocritical! Someone uses political influence to corner govt land (a collective commonwealth), a land that should be generally used to better the citizenry by building the State Secretariat Phase 2 or Clinic or even car park. Meanwhile, the Sarakis family has neither debunked what the land is originally meant for nor come out with the C of O or payment made on the land even after over 30years ruling directly and proxy. A right-thinking govt comes in and rights the collective rape and the youths raped are complaining both on and off social media!!!! The Sarakis can afford to buy any land in Nigeria but won't and rather show their power that they are god over other citizens just like other politicians. GSM of Oyo State reportedly cancelled the forest allocation done by his predecessor. Oshiomole as well, reportedly cancelled the large expanse of oil palm land Igbinedion allocated to his father while in power. Same Saraki caused his stooge Gov Lawal to cancel a large expanse of land owned by a popular Ilorin family few years ago, if I recollect well. Even First Ladies are not left out of this shameful act (Turai and PEJ fighting over a land they claimed is for the purpose of African First Ladies which Bala Moh'd cancelled initial Turai allocation and gave to PEJ). A thief is a thief, taking and keeping what doesn't belong to you is stealing. Defenders of thieves are also a thieves waiting to get the opportunity to steal as well. |
The policy is a CBN directive to all banks in 2016, basically to protect the bank account holder from loss of funds due to compromise. Even ATM cards trapped in issuing banks’ ATMachines should also be perforated, but the banks only relaxed on that often explaining the implication to the account holder and ensuring a form or register is completed by the account holder to evidence consent to the continuous use at his/her own risk. There are different reasons why an ATM card could be trapped, one of it is if a card holder, either intentionally or otherwise, inputs the wrong PIN three times, the card should be trapped - Security reason. Unfortunately, erratic network and service by banks are also other reasons which are not beneficial or fault of account holder. However the cause of the entrapment, the process of returning the ATM card to the original issuer, i.e. the bank that issued the card originally, is not safe as this card goes through various hands before it may get back to the owner of the card, leading to a possibility of the ATM card compromise. I hope we all remember that some transactions could be done using ATM cards without PIN, generally called ‘Card Not Present’ transactions wherein only information on the physical card are needed (most often international transactions). In view of the above, it is a global best practice for banks to destroy trapped/missing ATM cards. However, what CBN and banks can do is to reduce the fee on ATM card reissuance. Meanwhile, for me, I only make use of my bank's ATM always, even if it takes me extra effort. |
Pascalville:My current location and office is 119, Ikorodu Road, Palmgroove, Lagos; I wait to know you and your family truly. Which of the Ibeto are you trying to impersonate now because no legitimate scion of Ibeto from Nnewi will claim govt will siphon insurance industry recapitalization funds and be selling used phones the Police has repeatedly advised the populace against buying! You either didn't attend Unilag or wasted your years there ending up not only unbaked hence dishing out falsehood online and also unemployable even in any of the Ibeto family businesses you impersonating! https://www.nairaland.com/4087339/beware-london-used-phones-police https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.legit.ng/amp/1127966-beware-london-phones-police-issue-warning-nigerians.html

VolvoS60:Only someone not proud of his background like Pascalville will stoop low to joke or drag anyone's parent. Google up TELUWO and see the exploits and successes recorded by my family in Insurance, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Banking, Sports, Education, Philanthropy. Specifically in insurance, my family is the largest shareholders and founders of a Top 3 insurance company in Nigeria quoted on the Exchange. Hiding behind keyboard to insult someone's parent is pointer that Pascalville is uncultured, bereft of home training and self-esteem. I have mentioned my family, can Pascalville proudly state his! Pascalville's miserable life can not be far-fetched after all; completely self-induced as a self-acclaimed Unilag Actuary graduate does not know the meaning and essence of Recapitalization. Half-baked! |
Pascalville:Your Alma mater and alumni association should be very proud of the product they gave the society. They will contact you soon. |
Cryomancer:I disagree on the vibrancy and stability. What vibrancy with less than 1% penetration and one of the lowest in Africa with our population. With only 2 out of the over 20 quoted on the stock exchange paying dividends consistently over 5years. Yes, foreign investors coming because of the untapped potential, hopefully we might see the gain soon but am still skeptical. Also, the industry doesn't need more of govt intervention and regulations as much as industry innovation, professionalism, retail market penetration, corporate governance, succession plan, etc. Govt did not help Banks or Telcos or other sectors to be where they are, govt agencies are supposed to regulated and be on the side of consumers not operators. |
Pascalville:Kindly explain how Govt will siphon the insurance recapitalization funds (pls stop claiming what you are not as no Actuary and Insurer will ever make such comment). |

!!! Is it scarcasm or what
or actuary worth his salt would dispute the importance of recapitalization in underwriting higher levels of risk. Your comments show you clearly do not understand the issues at play here.
