The fact that sales on Fiverr has been unstable is a common knowledge. Some of us experienced sellers were pushed to the last page leaving us to our old clients. Most often, the rate of return of old clients is very low. To remain stable, you surely do need orders from new buyers. With a gig on the last page, this becomes more difficult.

In the last months of 2019, things changed for me. My monthly earnings fell to $500 -700, it even went further down that even the times I made $300, it was a struggle. However, during these long period of order scarcity, earnings hovered around $400 to $600 per month. With 90% of them coming from old sellers. To cut the story short, my recent experience on fiverr isn't anything 'encouraging' but we have to remain steadfast.

This April, my old clients with few other new buyers came to my aid. Helping me to achieve my old dream of $1k+/month. I can't remember the last time I made $1k/month, maybe August 2019. The closes I have been to $1k is $800+/month. Things have really changed and more of this experience is expected since my gig is still in the last pages of Fiverr.

Even when I had about 7 orders in queue, nothing changed about my gig impression, position, etc. This is not supposed to be so. So to everyone experiencing this, we can only hope for the best. But we have to face the current reality, everything is changing on fiverr, and new sellers are giving better opportunities by pushing their gigs to the front page. Let's keep the hope positive. May the month of MAY bring with it and to us, great sales and earnings.

Established seller like me can send offer for consecutive 3 days from my two accounts without getting any message. That's 60 offers in 3 days.

But don't give up. Check my comments on tips to sending good offers. Short, precise and direct.

If a buyer posts a request like the attached image, here would be my reply

"Hi, I am available to do the research for you and deliver within 24 hours. I will send you the information in an Excel spreadsheet".


Reading through that request, the client's first priority is delivery time, followed by delivery format. Just write two to three lines maximum hitting the pain points.

Update.

We are gradually moving to what I wrote above. Oil is now $11 per barrel. I'm from the Niger Delta, but I'm happy oil has crashed.

I'll be happier when oil becomes close to useless.

Since the Nigerian government said it's only oil, this will be a wake up call to focus on other things better than oil like technology/agriculture.

The worse is ahead and at the same time, the best is ahead.

Your preparation now will determine your level of smile. If you hope on job, you're jobless.

I know a guy who got clearing and forwarding connection (not his field though but fate) when he went to a certain rich men's bar at lekki, he ordered an expensive drink while sitting opposite of two rich men discussing business, summoned them to join. Then boom! During discussion, int'l business connection clicked because they are importers..

I spent more than one year getting jobs on Fiverr through buyers requests only. I never knew it was even possible to get direct messages and get job without sending offer. This made me master the act of sending offer and this has been my leverage on Fiverr no matter what happens.

They demoted me to level zero from level 2 yet my sales remain the same.

I no longer receive direct messages through my gig listing but I am still able to pull buyers in from the buyers requests.

The key to getting jobs through buyers requests are
1. Let your offer in the buyers requests be between the first ten offers. Some buyers pick from the first five. If you have ever put up request on fiverr and you are getting over 100 offers, you will know how overwhelming it is to read through. In fact, it is a job to some buyers, therefore, they pick the first five offers at most. So, irrespective of how good your offer, reviews, and levels are, your offer is most likely not to be read if it's the 22nd offer.

2. Make it short and direct. I don't write more than 3 lines in my offer. There's no need beating around the bush. Just pick a point or two in what the buyer needs and write your offer around it. This is also important because the more time you take writing your proposal, the farther your offer will be.

3. Refresh the request page after sending 2-3 offers. Sometimes, you will refresh the buyers requests and see 15 new offers. By the time you send the first three, please refresh the offer page to know the position of other requests. You will notice that those requests at 0 offers are already having 25 offers sent. There's no need continuing to send offer on those requests. Just wait for new offers.

4. Sleep on the buyers requests page. I wake up and sleep on this page whenever I am in desperate need of jobs. The page gets refreshed by as early as 7:15 AM Nigerian time. I will keep checking this page up until 11:pm.

5. Be selective in your offer. Don't just send offer to any requests. Some supposed buyers are notorious with posting same job over and over again. Some will be asking for ridiculous samples, some will put ridiculous budgets, etc, select your offer right, avoid Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladesh requests. Their names always give them away.

6. Don't sound desperate in your offer. It's good to sound very professional and less salesy. I wish I can share some of my offers that got me the jobs. They are really bland, short and direct.

Well, I have and it happened years ago before Google map became popular.

I am thinking of releasing the text of my strongly worded complaint to Fiverr for adoption by all and sundry, it is hoped that if quite a number of us can complain when they do this they can adjust the process to ensure that such refunds are not processed until the seller's side of the story is heard.
