It doesnt really have to do with a mans spec availability.Every man has an image of a woman he finds desireable in his head/thoughts/brain.When he eventually meets that woman in the real world, many times it leads to "oneitis" especially for the inexperienced men.
A man has "scarcity mentality" when he believes he cannot really attract any woman in anyway(especially the ones he finds desireable). So he chases anyone he sees.Any sort of woman is good enough for him.He is also desperate for female attention
That's why I said that I now know better.

Regardless of your spec, they are abundantly available for you.

Bro, if you think that there's just that your one spec available in the entire universe, you go SIMP oo... grin cheesy

@Emboldened The guy called Ozo on big brother Nigeria also suffers from this.It is underlined in his comment below.
A guy on nairaland once discussed the issue with ubunja. He said it is linked to the male ego.I also suffered from thesame mindset too.
The problem is not his spec, it's having this scarcity mentality like there are not so much of that same spec available, when reverse is the case....Abundance!

If you're a man that have read at least 50% of the content on this thread and it didn't change you for the better, then you're an irredeemable simp, deserving of a backhand pity.

#RandomThoughts
I actively joined this forum a few years ago, but have being following this site a long time ago.

The most powerful things that nairaland has taught me are;
1. Making money online (fiverr)
2. The RedPill

I once had this scarcity mentality of women. Like it must be one type of woman. It's either this one or no one.

I always ignore those that 'choose me', and instead chase those that don't choose me.

Now I know better.

It's as if I was blind, and can now see through the game of women.

It's like I have being handed the formula to play the game of women.

These days I don't stress myself, for I now know better.

Now what I do is face my hustle to get my finance in order. Improve myself and look better. Be a better person for myself and others around me, while I play this game better than before.

Mehn!! This August was nice to me oh, and I'm happy. God made it possible.
It just happened at the last week of the month.

Freelancing is sweet when you are making good fortune from it.
Imagine making more than x3 of what I earn as a monthly salary where I work, just in a week.

I couldn't rest last week, I nearly had problem with my boss were I'm attending to client message (operating Phone while working, which is against the office ethics).

And my gig appeared in the first page today for the first time, since I started freelancing.
Maybe it could be as a result of the Tips I got from most of the clients that ordered my service.

I pray that the new month September would be more nice to me...
Congratulations wink
What's your niche?

August is one of the worst months for me. I only got jobs from repeat buyers. My niche is Business.

A picture of a built standard poultry house and the price can equally serve.
Do you have other details that you need to start the farm? All these should be computed in a business plan.

what will you advise the average guy in the street out there to do?

Where should he start from?

What should the guy out there hustling, that's just starting out life to do since there's seemingly no encouragement from the part of the government to assist him, or is even interested in diversifying ? huh huh huh

Hello guys. I hope you are all doing fine. May God continue to protect us all. And may He bless our hustles.

I have a little challenge about my Fiverr account.

I noticed that, of all the 6 gigs that I have on my account, I get clients only in one account. All the other five gigs are just dormant. The gigs that I expect to bring in good money are the dormant ones. The active one only brings me $5 or $25 jobs. cry cry cry cry

Is there anything I can do to make buyers patronage the other lucrative gigs? I'd appreciate if you have tips that could help.

PS: The account just got verified. I'm up for Level 1 evaluation by the 15th of this month. After creating various Fiverr accounts without much success, this is the one that's showing a little promise. I'm just concerned that the lucrative gigs are just dormant.

Thanks for your help.
-Have a good gig image.

-Have a good description.

-Adjust your tags to the relevant search tags in your niche.
-Try to be online as often as possible.

I thought freelancers were having tough times on Fiverr until I went to the Logo design niche. My oh my, those guys are killing it there. One person go just get over 100 orders in queue. Freelancing get levels o.
Honestly graphic design niche is arguably the hottest niche on fiverr. probably next is writing .
The competition is also crazy!

Op please I beg you in the name of God. Do not listen to this advice. This is demonic advice filled with toxic negativity.

Upwork works. Fiverr works. People don't take it seriously. They apply to 5 jobs and then they don't hear back and come and start whining that it doesn't work. It takes hundred applications to even get 5 interviews. It's a numbers game. Apply to 500 jobs on Upwork in your niche and come and testify. I always advise newcomers on Upwork to keep at least 50000 naira for connects. If you use it judiciously you would be smiling.

I don't know if you know how the tech industry works but no one gets job in tech based on connections especially when it comes down to hardcore competency. Do you know the job of a data scientist and the importance of data science to making sound business decisions. Why would a company want to jeopardize their future based on 'connections'.

As with all things in life, getting a job is a numbers game. You can't apply to 5 jobs and you don't hear anything and give up and start mumbling that there are no jobs. It doesn't work that way. Getting a job is a job. You have to be applying to at least 10 jobs a day to show your seriousness. I don't understand many men know getting women is a numbers game as they can talk to 100 women before they can get one but they can't apply the same mentality to getting a job.
Getting a job on Upwork with a Nigerian profile is very difficult.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why Is It So Difficult To Get A Job In This Country? by demanuel(m): 2:55pm On Jul 25, 2020
tensazangetsu20:
Bros yeah but then as a developer you can't just apply to one job and sit down. You have to be applying to at least 30 jobs a day. If it takes 100 job applications to get 10 interviews. 500 job applications will bring in 50 interviews. Common one can land one job out of 50 interviews and you have just 200 applicants for one job not bad. Some fields 3000 people to one job. The good thing you are in a field that the jobs exist. On angel list alone there are over 32000 jobs. On Upwork between 6 am and now more than 600 jobs have been posted. Those are just two sites o out of thousands. I never even mention linkedin and indeed and co.
Just went through Angel list.
Is your location (having a profile from Nigeria) not an issue?

Do you know someone that has gotten a job on Angel list?

Use it along with the Desktop.
The App is good for responding to messages Speedily.
On your browser, install Page refresher add-on for your respective browser. Specify a particular url in your fiverr dashboard for refreshing every 3 mins. Once you turn on your system, head straight to the url you specified for refreshing and watch the script refresh the page every 3 mins.

It will help
When you say 'URL ', do you mean a particular gig link or your general profile link?

PuZZyNegro:
It's a general thing. Mine was around that same 300.

With buyer's request, the impression is going up.

Conversion shows 0.0% but I have active orders.

The stats shouldn't be a problem yet. The truth is that the competition on Fiverr is becoming too stiff. Most gigs are becoming saturated.

My advice to those still earning something is to save your money and invest it in other offline business. Even if it entails having people look after the business for you.
Hmmm... I have never being lucky with buyer request. Even after applying your method, still I have never gotten lucky with it.

Competition became too much when this corona started, and people were losing their jobs.

Thank God for repeat buyers!

I pray they don't contract the virus oo lol let me not lose clients.

Ideally, investing your money elsewhere should be the thing, be it online or offline, because aside the platform being saturated, you might also have problem with your account.

Oga @Beatzone I want to sincerely thank you for creating this thread (one of the most powerful, life changing threads on nairaland)

EliteBiz:
The group was created 25/06/2020.
All decisions by the Team is through voting.
The name "A-Team" was voted for the group.

This is the Invite Message :
I am creating a Master Mind(Business/Well being) group of Matured Individuals whose work are admired and services trusted. A small number of Individuals scattered all around the Nation allowing for a well connected grounds ahead of the new Economy Trend coming(Post Convid-19 Era).
This is a strictly official group aimed at one goal : When the new Economy trend begins, and many are complaining, We will be soaring. You are selected. However you can reject the invitation if you choose.
Sharing ideas, having grounds in various part of the nations and also outside the country, supporting each others franchise, brand and services. The Economy of the world is gonna change, and its very near.

Welcome Message :
Welcome Ladies and Gentleman, It's an honor to have you here.

The criteria for choosing each individuals in the group is
1. Integrity (not easy to find in a country like Nigeria)
2. Insight
3. Matured Minds

A new era of economy(Post Convid-19 Era) is about to begin in the world and of course, many are unaware.

Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA). In order to create a safe space for members to exchange ideas and information, it’s important to build a level of trust, which can take some time. Regardless, a simple NDA that is signed by all participants. [Fill in √ in the form sent to the group ]

Functions of the group :-
1. The new Economy ahead will lead to an extremely High crime rate(Fraud, Cyber crime will greatly Increase especially in Nigeria). Doing an online transaction now in Nigeria is of high risk, doing an international transaction has also been greatly restricted, Foreigners always avoid Nigerians for business due to our reputation. Sadly, The New Economy Era is majorly gonna be based on the Internet (Virtual World).

Solution : We connect each other.

Example : We can chat the group : Hello guys, any trusted seller of Cow in the North.
Hello guys, I need information about a laptop I want to buy?
Does anyone have any immigration officer that can give details about how to obtain a Nigerian passport?

There are architects, Programmers, Web Developers, Forex Traders, Business Men and Women, Car specialist, Tech geek, Holistic Healthcare specialist, Importers and so on in the group. All perfectly scrutinized before invited.

2. Ideas : We can chat the group for advice on our well being.

Most important element— We are here to support each other.
Nigeria is the way it is because there is no teamwork neither support, poor networking, Greediness beyond measure. Even most families don't support, I think its a Nigerian gene or trait.

3. Spreading the tentacles across the country.

More benefits would come up because each individual in this group are special

Meeting Time through votes : Sundays and Mondays on WhatsApp. 8:00 - 8:30pm each. 1hr per week.

Every decisions is made by the team collectively.

But as I told you earlier, the energy is not yet encouraging. But I just want to try harder if unity for progress can ever work for nigerians.
We already have a schedule of programme, each meeting, an individual will impact the team positively.
But at the moment is there any form of participation? Any member at all? I am very interested please.

You can sell to an exchanger here once you make withdrawal.

I can help you with contacts of legit exchangers to avoid falling prey to scammers.

Alternatively, you can withdraw the fund to the bank account linked to your payoneer account. Just log in to payoneer and click on withdraw and follow the instructions.

Withdrawal to bank account offers lower rates than what exchangers can offer you. I sell my fund for up to 415/$ to exchangers
415/$ huh and the local banks are doing 378/$.

Don't mind.

I myself, still thinking how I caught his attention, while I was just one day old on Fiverr.

May be because I wrote that I am native Hausa speaker. And in his meassage to me, he said he want his project to be executed by a Hausa native.

The order is out of context of my gig. He asked me to do voice-over of Hausa alphabets for him.

Thank you
Wow!

Just put your gig in the right section (writing & translation), have good gig image, and try to be online as much as possible.

Have you made money or you are currently making money from those platforms?

Freelancer seem to have being infiltrated by the Indians, Pakistanis and the likes.

Buyers on peopleperhour tend to search for sellers based on their location, and giving the red flags we have online, it's difficult to get hired on that platform.

PuZZyNegro:
Nothing bro. Just use buyer's request to get genuine orders and reviews and you will bounce back.

Also, avoid selling your services for $5, $10 no matter how much you need jobs. It kills gig in my own view.

And people with low budget gives the most trouble. Besides, low prices will not enable you to work effectively and efficiently. For example, I can afford to do smile subscription at 15K, run my generator to meet deadlines and still make profits.

When you charge low, you will not be motivated to go out of the ordinary to deliver quality service which will in turn hurt your gig and sales
For niche like Virtual Assistant, how do I increase my gig prices above $10, $15 ?
