Arysexy: For d fact that d LG boss mentioned both of d warrying groups are igbos show they have hand in it. This time using an igbo to fight igbo so as to see excuse to close d market in otherwords, these ibos are foolish to have allowed themselves to be used by yorubas to kill themselves right? |

MzJackBaueress: That's a blatant lie! As long as the markets are dominated by Igbos,a baba oloja is not needed.
Berem, ur market is on their land. If indisclipline is a cause of concern, Babaloja will be given and u either conform or eject ursef.
What is it the baba oloja will do that other people cannot do?
A lot. Chief among which is he is a local who understands the customs and traditions of the local community where that market is situated.
Market like Alaba Int'l is under the management of Ojo local government. Why then do they need a baba oloja? To do what?
That u dont see them doesnt mean they dont exist. Anyway, this has been answered up there. |
Politics › Re: Crisis: Lagos Threatens To Shut Ladipo Market. by Demdem(m): 11:57am On Apr 21, 2015 |
Mynd44: Most of these markets have a babaloja. But the traders also have representatives who meet the babaloja so he is hardly seen.
I have no doubt i my mind that the indisclipline constantly being seen in Ladipo is due to the lack of Baba Oloja. This anomaly must be speedily corrected.
They meet regular to discuss issues mostly cos the traders will need someone on the traditional council looking out for them and the Oba/Baale will want one of his own(who understands the culture) to be his mouth piece there.
Baba Oloja is useful afterall and not neccessarily about toll collection. u are undermining the powers of Baba olojas. That is a grave mistake
What Demdem is calling for is a Babaloja to enforce discipline which no one has time for.
Baba Oloja with his influence and being a local person can achieve this successfully. |

MzJackBaueress: I guess there is Baba Oloja at Alaba International Market and Trade Fair that's why the markets have been peaceful.
Abeg carry that your baba oloja mentally comot for road joor!
Where Igbos are dominated in a market,we do not need any Baba Oloja.
Period! We have more non Ibos in these markets u mentioned than Ladipo IMO. Besides these ibos seems to be more sensible the ones in Ladipo. These ones are troublemakers and have proven not to be able to conduct themselves in a civilised manner and that explains the use of Baba Oloja to bring sense back. The igbos are dominated in a market on Yoruba Land. Land owners can chose to give u a baba oloja if they deemed fit especially if u are troublesome, afterall u are on their land. |
Politics › Re: Crisis: Lagos Threatens To Shut Ladipo Market. by Demdem(m): 11:45am On Apr 21, 2015 |
MzJackBaueress: Ogbeni, Ladipo can never be shut! Do you know how much the government generates from that market?
The problem can be easily resolved since the warring factions are Igbos. This is why I said it does not concern Baba Oloja.
I will also advise the Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Lagos to look into the matter since it has to do with igbos. The more u push away the only panecea to this debacle, the more peace eludes this market. Baba Oloja route is the only way to go |

Mynd44: Who told you Ladipo does not have a representative at the council of the traditional rulers of Mushin?
But they still lack baba oloja right, don't they?
We are talking of a break down of law and order here not collection of customary tolls. This is government territory not traditional rulers
Baba olojas also play roles in securing their markets and instilling discipline which this market badly lack. It's called local policing and even the NPF will encourage this. Tolls will also be collected afterall baba oloja must chop for doing a good job of securing peace. |
Politics › Re: Crisis: Lagos Threatens To Shut Ladipo Market. by Demdem(m): 11:16am On Apr 21, 2015 |
MzJackBaueress: The government will look into the situation. Baba Oloja's power is beyond the situation.
Thank you! Demdem:
Records have shown that markets with baba oloja are peaceful. Ladipo needs one urgently. The cheapest and effective way is the baba oloja route. This is my advise to Fashola/Ambode. |

Politics › Re: Crisis: Lagos Threatens To Shut Ladipo Market. by Demdem(m): 11:11am On Apr 21, 2015 |
Mynd44: Local governments can't install Baba olojas. To the best of my knowledge, it is a traditional thing.
The local government still has to work with the unions or move in to cancel the unions and impose the laws made by then through a council of some sorts that will have a representative of the traders Mushin local govt with conjunction with Mushin land owners and traditional leaders within that jurisdiction should impose on Ladipo, baba oloja. |
Politics › Re: Crisis: Lagos Threatens To Shut Ladipo Market. by Demdem(m): 11:09am On Apr 21, 2015 |
MzJackBaueress: What kind of discipline will Baba Oloja instill? Abegi!
Anyway, the government lead by the Mushin LG has spoken. Since it is an internal crisis,I pray it is resolved. The kind of discipline current leaders aren't giving. Are they the only market in Lagos, how come is everyday trouble. Records have shown that markets with baba oloja are peaceful. Ladipo needs one urgently. |

PointB: I'm afraid, I have to agree with PDP here.
APC leaders are bunch of jokers. They prefer to gallivant around rather than do simple things to secure their interest. If these guys (APC) cannot do even the basic stuff, how can they even begin to imagine they can lead a complex system like Nigeria.
Their incompetence in not securing party registration is gross! PointB, obviously u were daft when u stated this rubbish. |

udemzyudex: some Nigerians are greedy while all Nigerians are impatience..
Am average Nigerian isn't greedy. An average Nigerian is hardworking and doesn't expect the govt to feed him or his family, neither does an average Nigerian wants crumbs. What he wants are basic things like security, infrastructure, job etc should be available and he is good to go. If Nigerians see prospects in u, they could be patient.
What is good for the goose is good for the ganders, even when GEJ was doing good,APC still tag it as bad..
Have u wondered why the same first set of people that criticised Jonah-daft were the same set that lay their lives on the ground for him to be president when turai was torturing him? He was given that benefit of doubt despite failing miserably as governor but he disappointed greatly and proved himself as part of the status quo. The little good he did were overshadowed by his numerous misgovernance and deceit. It was one week, one scandal.
So just get prepared,he is not there yet, people are already complaining...lol,ok naa.
Their complains move me not an inch. Buhari is president May 29 and that's all that matters now. Am optimistic about his govt and ready to give him time the same way I gave Jonah-daft before the fool went ballistic. If buhari should fail me which I seriously doubt, i won't hesitate to give him also Jonah-daft treatment.

No wonder he is plan to give David west minister of petroleum so that Niger deltans will not react. He fail. Cc Temitemi 1 Muguliciousmugu Afarm4 Goon, buhari will not fail Nigerians. Nigerians aren't greedy, give them basic neccesisities of life and they will sing ur praise forever. Jonah-daft that promised floating cities in ND, what happened to him and his citcities? Nd has since forgotten their promised cities but instead stuck on ethnic reasons. |

powersunny: This barcanista is just creating activity for everybody here to be throwing punches in the air. This reminds me of a case where someone sued that GEJ cannot be PDP's candidate in the last election when in fact PDP has not nominated him. Of course, the judge threw out the case. You can't build something on nothing na. Even Soludo critiqued the APC manifesto of lacking supporting figures. Now that APC has won, won't it be wise for you to keep watching and see how things will unfold in the next three months at least? Don't be in a hurry to play the opposition, you have a whole 4 years ahead of you to so do.
You are using figures from GEJ's govt to project for an APC govt and you want me to take you seriously. You discountenanced leakages and corruption in your figures. Please leave the headache for the APC govt and criticize them based on the events of their time.
"Those who say it is not possible should not disturb those doing it". The above summarises the foolishness and stupidity of the op and his cohorts that jerk off on threads like this. Why on earth must one depend on figures from a very corrupt and useless govt and use that as a basis¿

I have no doubt that the social programs proposed by the General's team is workable.
First and foremost, its foolish for anyone to completely believe any figure published by this current govt as the true state of income. SO many wast ages here and there and so many monies spent not even accounted for in the budget. When Buhari comes on board, all these lies will be shared to all Nigerians.
In many instances, figues qouted by the FIRS will be contrary to that qouted by the finance ministry and different from NNPC/PET ministry and even different from that qouted from account general and CBN for a particular common issue. I could still remember the subsidy debate debacle that Jonah-daft agents simply do not have common figures. This was delibrately done to confuse the populace and deny them of knowing the true situation of things thereby enabling them to continue to perpetrate their fraud.
The General intends harnessing all these loopholes and i am confident that even after all these social programs have been implemented, so much will still be available for other developmental stuffs. Even the respected Prof Soludo agreed that so much more monies are there that are not even accounted for in the budget.
By the way, the amnesty fraud will be stopped. Thats extra billions to play with. |
