lincolnj88: and u dont know that the nigeria universities are the most corrupt institutions in the country......and dis is caused by the academic staff demselves....Are u saying that our universities are much more corrupt than NDDC, NNPC , NASS etc. I don't think u are making sense here. Am also not saying that some unis aren't corrupt. |
nerodenero: Yes, you are right but I pray ASUU is not fighting of his pocket alone.NLC subsidy's strike readily comes to mind. Part of the agreement they signed includes clauses that affect their allowances but I tell u that the bulk of the agreement boils down to improved infrastructures for our Universities. The same govt that has spent trillions over the years for the NASS suddenly can't invest billions on our universities claiming there is no money. Only fools will buy such rubbish. Infact, I prefer our doctors and professors to be well paid than those theives. ASUU isnt asking for more than the implementation of signed agreement. |
lincolnj88: This strike is turning political....all they want is thier earned allowance nothing more...dis man is just speaking out of selfishness....just stop deceiving urself What is political in asking the FG to fulfill their part of agreement they voluntarily entered to? Has ASUU added any demand to this said agreement? Do u even know the full details of this agreement? Nothing is political here, they simply want the FG to be responsive to their promise. I think this is in order. |
J12: Dead on arrival. I thought Amaechi is a clandestine member of the APC? Why float a new party when you're a member of a new party?Ur thoughts doesn't make it factual. Amaechi is no member if APC but the killer party. If the party is too hot for him, him and likeminds can come together to form theirs. |
destino24: “obsolete familiar threat”Good one from ASUU. I expect them to squeeze FG balls the more. The money is surely there. Our educational sector will surely see better days. |
But ibos told us that umez wanted solidity while Obi wanted that fidelity chap. This is obviously not so. |
If true Amaechis party will surely win Rivers election and the next gov will be anyone but an ikwere, though rivers will vote retardeen during presidential. |
seanet02: US is living on old glory. The day US faces the Russian military, the whole world will now why Russia won the second world war.....Ok ooo, I hear u but I no gree. Russia threat to me is insignificant and won't stop the allies to get rid of Assad if they mean business. |
berem: You forgot to include Iran? I thought Iran was in support of Assad too. I fear this might lead to a full blown war. I didn't forget Iran. Believe u me, Iran is a small fish and it will be a big mistake on their part to delve in. The allies who have been urging them to give up their nuclear dreams will seize that oppurtunity to wipe them out and what they hold so dearly. Their economy is in shambles already and with little or no support from the region except countries like north Korea, Cuba, Venezuela,.... Common, Iran is no threat. |
emk4lif: I guess I see your point now....It's unfortunate. With or without Assad, killings will continue. His greed to force himself Ib his people to me is the root cause. Surely he must go. I forsee a very bleak future for this country. |
emk4lif: Having Assad who to a large extent runs a secular state at the helm of affairs in Syria is a much safer scenario than a bunch of ragtag disorganized extremist sunni rebels united only by their hate for the Alawite minority assad represents, the middle east will go up in flames with backers like iran and hezbollah, the reverbrations are already being felt in lebanon.....BTW the US and its allies cannot just overlook the possible Russian response....Russia won't throw away her last Arab ally so At worse, Russia will grant Assad Assylum. Russia will never risk his fragile economy for Syria. Case closed. US will probably go in with NATO so the risks will be shared. It's not for me to determine who I want to govern Syria. The truth is Assad has overstayed. I see q war torn country after Assad, but with him there the country will never know peace. It's left for them to face their destinies. |
seanet02: It is called MAD...Whatever. Military, economic wise, US is miles ahead of Russia. There is a limit to what Russia can do for Syria. Assuming US was the one supporting Assad, would the US ever ask Assad to cooperate with the UN? Especially if its against their interest. Of cos not. Russia quickly asked Assad to cooperate if he values his life. |
CFCfan: The chemical attack on Syrians is despicable, and unfortunate. The perpetrators of this act shall never know peace.Nothing is impossible from the kind of leaders like Assad and the ruling class who desire to remain in power by any means possible. |
seanet02: Russia can do anything.. They can do whatever but do they have what it takes as at today to upstage the US. This I seriously doubt. what interest does America really have in Georgia? Doubt if there was any serious proping from them. However, the allies of America in the Middle east that includes Saudi, UAE, Kuwait, Turkey etc want Assad gone. I doubt if America will go alone, they may probably push NATO into it and that is an alliance Russia still don't have a solution for. China will just continue to look like Zombie. |
emk4lif: While I doubt russia would want a confrontation with the US, Syria is probably their last Middle Eastern ally and they may want to protect that...their warships have been oorbiting Syrian waters for a while as a deterrent to the west so they are obviously taking it serious I may not like the US, but its no brainer that both Russia and its Syria ally will be easily consumed by US and its allies. Both Assad and the rebels are guilty of war crimes so whoever perishes first is ok by me. |
Russia can't do anything to stop US if they want to go in. Both Assad and the rebels are guilty of war crimes so whatever. |
yomalex: I am not sure Putin will allow invasion of Syria. Russian Forces are not on alert for nothingForget it. I doubt if Russia will want to fight a proxy war against the US even now. If its even neccessary, it will never be because of Syria |
berem: Jonathan is not Igbo and will never be! Any Igbo who votes for him is doing it at his own risk. How come he was ibo before and after elections and suddenly have an ibo name Azikwe but he is no longer ibo now. I think ibos should enjoy their presidency now. |
Retardeen surely knows the thieves. Those to demand explanation won't afterall he has given them less than 20bilion worth of Airport. What a fraud. |
I have always stated it that Ibos will always vote retardeen, afterall Ebele Azikwe Jonathan is ibo. Afam is also ibo, so nothing is new here. I respect Afams opinion, he simply pitched his tent with the killer party. |
Nothing is new here. Afam has always been a killer member and a staunch supporter of Retardeen. |
osakwe okey jr: 'Useless lawyer' Lol... Well, thanks.Better. Now live with that. |
For those in PH who listened to the various radio current programmes this morning, this issue was discussed and we have those for and against this decision which isnt out of place. However one thing i was able to grasp and held on to even though i am yet to verify is the fact that the new acting CJ was in the high court adjudicating cases for years even before Justice okocha before he was seconded to the appeal customary in "settling up" the place. His certificate of being an High court judge was never taken or withdrawn from him and that suggest he remain a high court judge even though he heads the appellate customary by virtue of appointment. If this is true, this makes this case even much more interesting. ![]() |
osakwe okey jr: Oh u aint a lawyer or a law stdnt. So y were u talking so authoritatively? U said u're better dan som lawyers; is it by insulting pple? I see nothing good in u. Now I knw u're even ignorant of wot u're saying, exchanging words wit u is meaningless cos I'ts just like doing so wit an illiterate rural dweller. Its not everything u see on nairaland forum u just jump into commenting. Look at hw u have exhibited ur ignorance and now pathetically say: 'I'm nt a lawyer'. But u were here giving submissions. Please always say wot u knw next time.u are so much pathetic than i had earlier thought. a useless lawyer like u dont even know the difference between an opinion and submissions. if i am talking authoritatively, why am i advocating that this issue still needs to be taken to the law court? what gives u the impression that only lawyers can speak on issues like this? are u even aware that u so called lawyers are even confused about this issue. I have no doubt that though i may not be a lawyer, i am well sound and vast on issues pertaining to law unlike ur miserable self who has contributed nothing to this discussion so far but throw few maxims here and there. Is maxims the only thing in law. u may know all the maxims in the world but still remain daft for ur info. i may disagree with the moniker 'practitioner' but i surely gained something from him. u, what have u said? Nothing. Anyway, u cant give what u dont have. Empty barrel, learned but daft. I pity ur clients. u cant exchange ideas and ur position with me because u are simply empty up there. even if i live in the rural areas, in this era of "global village" what makes me a lesser person than u that live in the city? Again i reinstate that u are really empty. Please if u have nothing to say, shut the ffuck up. Nonsense. |
practitioner: Mind you, nobody is saying he cannot be appointed a CJ,of course he can,bt not an acting CJ.D issue of fairness is not really important at this stage, maybe it would be if u would champion d cause for its amendment, then you can rightly bring it up.Maybe I will be on your side then,bt not at this stage.Ooo, so he is good for CJ but not good for acting CJ. Oga go to court. Am out. |
This interview isn't complete jor. I would have love to know his impression about retardeens refusal to implement his report and his opinion on governance currently. |
practitioner: Well, lets leave it for d court to decide. And what av I been advocating since? By the way, only an acting CJ was appointed pending the substantive. |
osakwe okey jr: If u are talking abt coordinate jurisdiction den its a pity u're calling it 'alternate' jurisdiction. And let me ask u: did d section in question say: d most senior judge of d high court or any court of coordinate jurisdiction'?. As a lawyer or law student, do u know d maxim: expressio unius est exclusio alterius? I dnt think u're grounded in law. Go and read, u haven't started I never claim to be a lawyer so if I got some terms wrong, its allowed and I have no apology for that. However, what I know is am better of than quite a lot of useless lawyers , those that claim to be learned but better of as charge and bail. if u are one, I have no doubt about this considering ur value so far in this discussion. Av been in this world for sometime now and I understand how things work in my environment so kindly shove ur miserable maxim back into ur arsee. One don't need to be grounded in law to understand that only the court interprets the law and when its done, it adds more value into our jurisprudence. The chosen man court which he heads is equivalent to an high court , is it fair to say because he doesn't work in the high court then he can't be the CJ? That is the simple matter the court ought to adjudicate. |
practitioner: It could be politics, or u mean its not possible? I quickly tried to source that piece of news of d nba lending their support, and their reasoning, but I only saw d news and no reasoning at all.I was also able to find out that it was d local branch nba of d state that expressed their opinion on d issue, and that is just what it is;an opinion. Good to know u acknowledge that. Besides ur position is also an opinion. Just an opinion and not an authority on the constitution. The more reason why I keep asking u to go to the court and let it interpret that part of the constitution. |
practitioner: Obviously u re forcing yourself to comment on an issue u know little about.and u that know, how come ur position run contrary to members of the Bar. or is it politics also? |
osakwe okey jr: [What d hell is 'alternate abi na alternative jurisdiction' and d explanation of it thereafter? |
practitioner: Can u pls explain what u mean by a court of alternate jurisdiction. If u ve any issue with that express provision of d constitution or it seems discriminatory to you, then what u should be clamouring for is its amendment and not trying to twist it to suit u.D fact that am of d opinion that d appointment is wrong, does not necessarily mean am comfortable with d provision, but d fact remains that it is d law until it is amended, and should not be twisted to suit selfish interest. Ur argument on inferiority and discrimination does not hold water. Need I remind u that president of a customary court of appeal is not answerable to d chief jude of a state with regards to matters of that court? Mind u also, there is no provision in d constitution that bars a judge of customary court of appeal from being appointed a chief judge of a state. So what's d rant abt inferiority and discrimination about? The decision of the appellate cant be set aside by the high court and vice versa. this cant be said about the magistrate court whose decision can be set aside by both. On that basis i regard the appellate has an high court on its own even if its not called such. its left for the court itself to determine if its so or not and not ur interpretation of the constitution. lucky u, Amaechi only appointed an acting CJ pending when the substantive will be appointed which is well received by the Bar itself. Or are u also insinuating that the Bar also doesnt know what they are doing? If u have any issue about this, proceed to court abeggi. |
