Their King the Olugbo is still claiming that his throne is the oldest Yoruba Throne because it was their forefathers Oduduwa met at Ile Ife
Yes, Linguistical and archeological studies have shown/postulated that ilaje/itshekiri area is where the oldest or purest form of yoruba exists and its confirm by the olugbo that they were the aborigines chased away from ife in the Moremi stories
demmie1: More precisely, Yoruba is split into like four to five groups in Benin republic; the ohori living around ketu, sabe, the idaasha, living across the weme river, the isha living in Bante, Manigri etc, the shaworo group in Tsaorou where the former president Boni Yayi came from and we also have the Ana-Ife group in Kambole, Anie and Atamkpame in Togo
MrOkenwa: Ketu- they are not ohoris. Alaketu of ketu is a prominent Yoruba monarch. Eguns- They’re prominent people in yewa, ogun state. Anago- It’s a name used to describe Yoruba people in some neighborhoods like Togo and Benin republic but there is a small tribe in yewa known as anago. The eguns have their own unique language and culture though, they’re part of us.

Nsogbu001: I think is very bad for the first lady of a country to threaten a particular tribe. Must everyone support Tinubu. This should be investigated biko
Malicious, manipulative devilish people. I know you posted this for your type that will not verify the truth in content before going haywire. Any reasonable people will want to verify what someone says in another language, but not your type, you can even see the ibo woman laughing with her, will she be doing that if she's being threatened?
LibertyRep: This fight against illicit sale and use of hard drug deserves the support of everyone.
Hardly will there be a major crime without some elements of intake of hard drugs.
Sadly, it has permeated every nooks and crannies of our society.
The resultant effect on the mental being of the user is best felt when one visits psychiatric hospitals. How about the damaging effects on body organs like liver and kidney?
olab059: This interviewer was soft with his questions...why didn't he just ask the man why he married a 14 year old child...why? Why not married an adult girl of at least 21? I really just want to understand the mind of the man.
The point is you have been wrongly program to believe something is wrong because it's not practised around you. Do you know age of consent in Japan is 13yrs? From historical records, Yoruba girl becomes a woman around 16 to 17 years old and till 1960s they still get married before the age of 19, ask your grandmother. Marriage age has been shifted upwards because of educational and economic needs, it doesn't mean marrying at earlier age is so wrong
If Ahmed Yerima had married a man.......France,USA would have been very happy, possibly thrown a party for him.
If Ahmed Yerima had paid and brought home a prostitute.....Amsterdam would not see anything wrong with that.
If Ahmed Yerima had slept with a little boy.....the pope and the Vatican would have looked the other way.
Civil and religious rules in Nigeria and the USA would forever be different.
Not to say what Ahmed Yerima did was right, but would you rather your sister married at 14years old or be a prostitute at 14years.
Civil and religious rules between Yoruba and hausa-Fulani is different, civil and religious rules between hausa-Fulani and IBO is different. Do well to remember that when you want to point out national differences.
What yerima did 13 years ago caused uproar in the south and the core north did not waste time to make us understand we have different societies, the same way they started riots when we tried to host miss world.
The illusion that someone will go hungry was busted in 2020 when the north refused to bring their produce to the south for 2weeks after the mayhem at ibadan following endsars. The Yorubas were even happy that they stopped and the prices did not even go up
You people are just brainless, for a case that have not been concluded you came online and started yapping as if you have won. Take this from me, the case will go in favor of APC and you will still come back here and wail that they have raped you again
From the first points this op laid down I knew he's half intelligent about what he was trying to say. First, British has no right to come and colonize us and lump all sorts of nations that are not compatible in culture and tradition together, that's a recipe for disaster. Secondly, non of all the nations that you call tribes in Nigeria had any say in how Nigeria was created and run. Issue of self determination is not about resources. Thirdly, there are many countries all over the world that are less than one million in population and almost all minorities in Nigeria have more population than that.
All of you who are against dividing Nigeria are just half intelligent people throwing unintelligent argument to defend evils done against black Africans
Mandate2023: Three (3) reasons why igbos are not serious about biafra and should not be taken serious
(1). Any election period igbos use to have candidate contesting for office of d president, dey don't remember biafra by then but after dey must have lost out dey resume their gullible agitation
(2). There are senators and rep members representing igbos at d national assembly and never for once have any of them raise the issue of referendum for biafra neither did their governors come together on such grounds
(3). Igbos have shown to be clowns and comedians by insulting Nigeria by calling it zoo today but claiming to love Nigeria more tomorrow, igbos can't develop their states hw will dey manage themselves....Nigeria is a united country and 1 tribe can't just wake up one day and decide to want to leave when things don't favour them due to their bad and hatred tribal politics
Plus Igbo legislators and north west are the first to always shut down calls for regionalism in the senate
YouandiAllofus: If this 2023 election window closes in favour of tinubu at the judiciary, then their chances of producing a president takes a distant position around 2039!
Support movement for realization of sovereign Yoruba Nation you say no, so why are you complaining that ibos want to move their population to Lagos to take over, don't you know that's the only gift Nigeria have for you? What ibos are doing is not new in history, ask the serbians how they lost Kosovo. If we don't move out of Nigeria another Kosovo will happen to Yoruba in Lagos, it's only a matter of time
Ezeama400: Only you will accuse Igbos of being an aggressor, marginalizing and dealing with minorities, only you will turn around again and start saying that Igbos are victims of minorities..
Look at what hate has done to your brain and psyche..smh
See this is why everybody see ibos as a problem. You cannot just reason right.
We are talking history before Nigeria existed but see where you dragged it to. I don't really blame you for the ignorance because ibo history begins with Nigeria not before
Stoplying: Weird that he is not quoted as saying that. His quote says something different completely, that is just the interpretation of the journalist whom is biased. The Olu was saying that all Nigerians are one. He doesn't say his kingdom is part of "Yoruba nation", he makes a clear distinction between his kingdom and "Yoruba nation".
Yet he sends delegates to Yoruba congresses and meetings every year
Stoplying: You guys believe in your fairytales way too much. If Ogedengbe was that strong, then why was he so poor as can be seen in where he lives. Show me prove of the Obz "begging" Ogedengbe.
Definitely you are brainless. Ogedengbe lived 150yrs ago do you want him to pose in front of a skyscraper wearing Gucci? The way you people refuse to think before spilling your ignorance is dispicable
Efewestern: Awolowo was too pro-Yoruba to be a leader in a diverse region like West. He only dived into the Olu Tussle because of Itsekiri's Yoruba link/ancestry. A suicidal political move that cost him a lot. He also allocated more to Ibadan with less population than Benin with higher population. His only political allies were mainly from the Itsekiri stock, that's to tell you how pro-Yoruba he's. People like Rewane stood by him till the end, while political gladiators from Urhobo/Benin rallied with Azikiwe who was also trying to weaken Awo's growing influences.
Also, you are wrong with the quoted. Awolowo never instigated the COR demand for separation. The minorities in the then Eastern region were already demanding for a separate region and the removal of Eyo-Eta strengthened their resolve for their independence. Minorities had no good anywhere. It was hell everywhere. Those in Northern received the highest slaps of injustice.
We don't want to open the cankerworm of the past, but if we are to, then we should speak the truth at all time.
Pls let's open everything. If anyone has more bring it and quote a viable source not lies or my papa say
It's a natural and legit thing to ask for freedom when you are dominated and it's also natural to want to keep the status quo when you are the one dominating.
Midwest, south south, Biafra, let everyone go their way and if you want to join together let it be on conditions agreed by all not by will of only one side. This is the reason why there's so much hate in Nigeria
Stoplying: The yoruba see history as a rival to yoruba fairytales, so they axed history. Also Yoruba don't like the constant reminder that most of them descend from slaves.
Ibos were the ones being picked as slaves for exports, it was the Benin, Calabar and ijaw doing the pickings. Ask anybody
iammo: Money isn't Tinubu's problem , he is a billionaire in Dollars
INTELs logistics controls all revenue of ship berthing in Lagos and he is a share holder
OANDO PLC is a major marketer
Alphabeta tax consultancy services operate accross West Africa charging 5% as service charge
Don't mind the ignorants, they think everything about politics is money.
To answer the op question, I wonder what Tinubu is up to too and I don't think another four years is his top objective. In his inauguration speech he said he will revise Nigerian security architecture and as akeredolu said in 2020 at the inauguration of amotekun, he was their don and anything he says goes. So I think he's going for regional restructuring as his security appointments are skewed towards the south more than the north as normal. My opinion though
proeast: I didn't measure it myself, but a careful look at the Google map shows that Obuaku in Abia state is closer to the Atlantic than Lagos or P.H ports.
The mistake you guys keep making is believing that all ports are built on the coastal lines. That's wrong, almost all the ports in Nigeria are inland, including Lagos and P.H.
Where is the evidence nah? As long as you can read and write the concept of screenshot should not be alien to you now. Share the screenshot of your argument let us see then we can understand your reasoning, if not, you are only seemingly insane for now
