afangsoup:Did you read the inspection reports? The ladipo mechanic advised to change engine and transmission because transmission stops working when hot? Can you see the logic the mechanic used? Read that part slowly please. You were in a hurry and could not read the documents given to you (which also contains a hardcopy of the inspection report). You left akwa ibom to come buy a car in Lagos but suddenly you were in so much of an hurry that you could not spend 10 minutes to go through a report and discuss same with your mechanic. You even had a plan of driving a used car you had no history with all the way to akwa ibom from Lagos just few minutes after purchase. What preventive maintenance did you or your mechanic perform before the journey? What caused the engine failure? Can you itemise what you spent the 480k on (cost of complete engine and transmission in ladipo is not up to that) |
helpishere:God bless you. |
This thread shows clearly that: *age is not a factor that determines reason and common sense. *the ability to discern is a gift, available only to a few *hatred for other people's success runs deep in many unsuccessful people *some people are big online but will always sleep on their small student bed every night Cars45 is an idea turned into reality. An idea that got an extra $5m funding just last year from the same 'abroad' that many loud mouths have been painting as their father's backyard. An idea from humans who saw a need and created a product to meet that need. You have a car and need immediate cash? Cars45 would be there. How many people have died just because they needed money and they couldn't convert their asset to cash fast? How many people need to sell their cars as discreetly as possible and have no avenue? How many people don't want to paste their private phone numbers online just because they want to sell a car? An automobile business idea comes in and many people who have not even managed their wife successfully come online with free data to shout fraud. The most embarrassing are the 'elders' who evidently are just mileage magnets. Let us analyse accusations logically and put our age and experience garnered into use. The onus is on a used car buyer to inspect properly and analyse all information provided before making a purchase especially when the selling medium allows a system as transparent as possible. Which other used car sales medium in Nigeria provides a detailed inspection report of a used car pre-purchase? If the OP had simply seen a car on olx and paid without an inspection report, would your judgement have been different? The hate mosquitoes would hum on and start singing without considering the facts but I plead with the humans who have a proper sense of discernment to analyse and decide Thanks |
angels09:The pain and hatred in your heart for me has turned into a big boil. One day you will just explode and I will still drive over the mess your carcass will create on the road |
HazzanTazzan:Won't exchange insults with you. Your type can only beat chest like an overfed Gorrila online. Share the report of the theoretical Camry you bought and tell us the faults it has that was not stated. Let's deal fact for fact instead of insults |
angels09:Smartchoice aka angels09 We were both in Benz WhatsApp group before the whole town left you alone to dance to your music of madness. It is over a year ago and we all have moved on. It is high time you do |
angels09:Can you for record purposes state the fraud case that I have? I hope the statement above is pure enough for you to comprehend? Awaiting your response |
angels09:All your poem is not changing the fact that you have been busted. Old man like you wearing torn boxers and still acting fly. We have been telling you that your blokos has been swinging like a pendulum yet you decided to sing the National Anthem. Your blokos and its compatriots can never arise! Stop humming to my tune 'smartchoice'. I will simply use you for dinner and still complain of hunger. |
angels09:Tunde, You need not be a negative minded individual. No one is responsible for your situation. You still have hope, only if you can drop all these... Oh...I know your moniker was smartchoice and you are still pained....take caprisonne and bobo milk....we know all the monikers you have used....you are not smart afterall |
aieromon:Why should I search through nairaland? |
I would stop responding to issues on cars45 henceforth. I have tried my best to clear the air but it seems some people have a fixed mind already. |
Cosplay:If they are not fair in their business practices, I won't deal with them. Cars45 is not the only source of cars for me. I buy from many sources. I sell to many people. |
aieromon:Cars45 would buy your car at a price lower than expected. Yes, you would be disgruntled but they provide instant cash which will meet your needs. You have a choice of not selling to them....Put the same car on OLX and wait for one month. If they are so bad as few guys claim, why do they keep having lots and lots of cars being brought to them? There is always a car available to us dealers to bid for at every single minute....it is simply because they meet a need. If you think they are not good, don't take your car there. Just don't spoil their business. |
angels09:At least I raise cars from the dead. What have you ever done other than have a negative outlook about life? |
Cosplay:Kindly provide facts that prove my opinions are biased |
Gravatar:Just because I didn't follow the bandwagon at blaming the company whilst supporting the op who has refused to give facts apart from sensationalising issues, I am now a bad person? I tend to stay with the truth. Truth evidently is not the path commonly followed |
Now my simple question? What else do we think can be done to improve the process? Someone suggested that a desktop computer should be available at the lot so that final buyers can Independently verify the reports and see the comprehensive details if they so require. This is a good suggestion and I would also inform my dealer manager to pass this on to management. As I said earlier, I am a car dealer on cars45. I have sold dozens of vehicles through them and I use my knowledge of automobiles to advise my clients on the best deals. I am not a staff or owner of cars45. If you want to buy a good Nigerian used vehicle at an affordable price, cars45 is a good choice. I would be going to the car yard at alausa today to pick another car. If you would like to have a tour or you are Interested in buying a used car with free consultation from me, we can meet there at noon today. WhatsApp on 080-555-86-999 Cheers |
And more sections of the same report for the same car...
|
They even show the fuel level on some cars (this started during the fuel scarcity period some months ago)
|
This is a screenshot of the comments section of a random car available for sale via cars45. I will leave unbiased readers to determine if the report is fair enough

obekediamondfuto:Good points you raised. Cars45 remains the only car purchase medium in this country that conducts a comprehensive inspection report on cars and buys the cars based on the results of the tests. Let's take transmission issues for example. Every issue noticed with the transmission would be recorded on the report. Jerks, delays, leakages etc would be noted. There is a two level check whereby the vehicle is again inspected via a quality control process to ensure that all the negatives are noted in the report. Now if after going through all these, a buyer sees a very clean looking vehicle with report reading *delay in gear engagement, fluid leaks around transmission sump* yet buys the car, it is logical to expect that the buyer is ready to fix all the transmission issues noticed. The company is not perfect but they receive feedbacks and are always dynamic, adjusting to realities in Nigeria. PS: to those who think that since they have gotten the 'rare' chance of working for a few years out of this country, they have the right to ridicule everything that happens here, can I remind them that this exact business model exists in the 'abroad' they so much have put on their head like dreadlocks. A lot of cars on our roads are products of auction processes in the USA and I can even say their vehicle inspection processes does not beat the one cars45 offer. |
jmaine:Your assumption is false. |
angels09:Anyone against your own point of view immediately has no credibility. How apt |
Autojosh has done a commendable job. This is pure investigative journalism. Kudos. The OP has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that she was scammed. The OP: *called a car dealer on OLX *visited Cars45 at the behest of the car dealer. *picked a car she liked and paid to the car dealer *drove the car out without issues only to complain of overheating after a few days. My simple question. Apart from the fact that the car was in Cars45 yard, if the OP had seen the car on olx and met the seller in a supermarket car park, would she have accused the supermarket of fraud? PS: I am a registered dealer on cars45 and I can assure you of the following: *they are the only medium that gives a free and independent car status report in Nigeria as at today *the summary of the report is printed and taped to every windshield in their lots *the report is also printed and included in the documents you receive *you are allowed to bring your mechanic My advice to car buyers; read the report pasted on the windshield, in case you are not understanding what is written, get someone who can read to help you out. Bring your mechanic and get his opinion. You are buying a Nigerian used car....get it fully serviced after purchase. Check all the systems and components. PS: by service, I didn't mean draining the oil and adding a filter alone....check all components |

I was blocked from making further posts on this thread for two days. I sent a message to the mod but did not get a response. Explanation really required CC: Marpol Seun |
kobosmart:It does not count sir. Being married to the President is not the same as being the President. Your mum looks wonderful and I can guarantee she would not approve of her son ridiculing a middle aged woman who has achieved greatness in her field. My regards to her |
kobosmart:Share your mum's picture. No insult intended. Kindly inform us if your mum or any close female relative has been promoted to the post of Major in the Nigerian Army before. In addition, you should note that beauty does not teach tactics and war strategy when bullets are flying. Thank you |

EgunMogaji:Wow. Most of the E30s in Nigeria are the euro variants. I have seen only a few American specs. You can get clean copies in Nigeria, full Euro |
laivwire:Nice. Looking forward to the updates. You can share pictures here |
