I just finished reading every page of this thread, and I am boiling with anger.

It is very sad that some human beings will dance naked in the marketplace defending blatant fraud, just because of peanuts they get from the company directly or indirectly.

If you so boldly defend fraudulent practices like these, you are nothing but a fraudster yourself.

Helpishere, Denn, and your 2 other associate fraudsters (or possibly your alternate monikers) on this thread, you are a disgrace to humanity.

I am totally ashamed to come from the same country as scum like you guys, who sell their entire soul and conscience for a plate of pottage.

I have no words for you guys, other than the following-
If you so blatantly defend fraud, may similar fraudulent practices continue to bedevil your own life like an evil shadow.
If you believe the sharp practices of Cars45 to swindle unsuspecting buyers of their hard earned money is fair game, then may similar types of sharp practices continue to overshadow your lives forever.

You will buy drugs from a pharmacy to treat your malaria and it will turn out be fake drugs, poison that kills your kidneys and liver, because you didn't do enough "due diligence".
You will buy car parts and brake pads and it will turn out to be fake brake pads that will fail you when you need it most, ....when you're on the express speeding towards a stationary trailer....because you didn't do enough "due diligence".
You will buy fake tyres and your front tire will blow on the highway at 150km/hr, as you didn't do enough due diligence.
You will go to hospital and it is fake doctor that you will meet, who will do to your body whatever his quackery directs him to, as you didn't do enough due diligence.

All these and more will continue to befall you guys, since you so blatantly defend that the company is right as long as the OP didn't fully do her due diligence.

Quote me and watch live high tension wire fall on you in a thunderstorm in this very year 2018.

Take your raging frustration and dip yourself in the closest pit latrine, maybe some discarded fecal matter would replace the sponge you call a brain.

If you read completely and comprehended, why will you hit the express foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog?

Now calm down, take your drugs and concoctions and never mention my name in your life again.

Please, can someone educate me on why Murano transmissions are such a nightmare for Nigerians? Last week, I heard an owner sold his for 300k after transmission issues.

Cc Gazzuzz, Honmusa, Nissparts, timifakay, Denn et al

The Murano issue is simple. The transmission is a CVT. NS-2 fluid is required during service but a whole lot of mechanics will buy either seahorse or abro ATF and use it in servicing it.

Issue is compounded by owners who feel 'transmission is not changing' when in actual fact, the CVT is just doing it's job.

There is a Murano up for sale now in PH at 270k. I would charge 30k for the information to purchase. Engine and transmission not guaranteed.

Cheers

MR cars are not the same as RR cars. RR cars have some outstanding advantages that front mounted engines don't have like stronger acceleration and braking. apart from that, they have some inherent over steering and stability issues, which of course can be minimized in high performance cars with ingenious engineering. mid engine cars have a nearer even weight distribution than rear engined cars. The VW beetle is a nice classic car that drives well, but that won't stop some of the disadvantages inherent in its design to manifest in extreme conditions.

You sound too theoretical. Have you driven a beetle at high speeds before?

the super cars like Porsche actually try to achieve a near 50:50 weight distribution which is ideal. sometimes they put 'part' of the engine in the back not all. if you put both the full engine and the axle in the back, the front becomes lighter which is unideal. it can definitely move at top speed but destabilizing conditions like strong winds etc will have a more pronounced effect. I was never suggesting it is unstable at normal conditions. if you have a personal experience with the car, I'd be pleased to hear your insights

I have owned many beetles and used it as a daily driver for some months, travelling across abeokuta to Lagos through ifo at least once a week during these periods.

Top speed was around 120km/h but the car got to that speed really fast.

Traction was sure and vehicle felt like a German through corners.

Front gets too light if the power delivery is proportionally too huge. A beetle with less than 100hp at the wheels will do just fine, infact too fine with that set up

don't drive at top speed with this bug. all the weight is in the back. it can cause the car to be abit unstable in windy conditions. the top speed should be about 120 km/h. so just stay at around 70/80 km/h.

Weight at the back is actually a good thing especially when the driven wheels are at the back too.

Where do you think F1 and some hypercars cars put their engines?

Do you know when the very first beetle was designed?

Saying 18th century is completely wrong.

This is a normal Volkswagen beetle with a remodeled body, a common event in the 70s and 80s.

i have gone through this thread and the things that strike me about this issue are:

1. while the OP did not do her due diligence on the car this is not a reason for a supposed company to hoodwink people its just like saying its ok to pass counterfeit notes if the receiver does not check his money well i mean how do you even explain away the fact that the converted status of the car was not captured in the report given to OP

2. the responses by the dealers under cars45 shows that they are complicit to the fraud being perpetuated there i.e they know the cars are junk but rely on the relative lack of knowledge of the buyers to sell them the cars if you dont think that's a problem ask yourself is it ok for a pharmacy to sell you fake drugs because you did not do due diligence before the drugs?

3. nigerians have a huge tolerance for fraud being perpetuated by corporate entities maybe its the fear of spending money on a lawyer or supposed wasting of the persons time but if we do not hold big businesses accountable then they will continue to hoodwink the general populace

There is no fraud being perpetuated here.

If a report states *GEAR NOT SELECTING*, how much knowledge does an intending buyer need to know there is a possibility of a transmission replacement?

I didn't know u have time iike this o

while it's even sensible to reason with those that have had direct contact with cars45,having a go at one dat has never left ado ekiti isn't worth it grin

I don't have any pity for whoever goes to buy a used car without detailed inspection......heck,u even need detailed inspection for a toks car due to unscrupulous dealers everywhere

what does these cars45 complainants av in common?...reliance on the report without personal due diligence

and ofcos, the price will be so attractive that common sense won't even prevail anymore

question is,why wld cars45 sell at a ridiculously low amount of not that they bought it low?

why would they buy it low if the car was top notch in the first instance?

I still don't get,how one wld wanna spend millions on a car and can't spend 5k at least to get a different opinion ......kobo-wise naira-foolish peeps undecided

I can't even buy a toks car without test-driving talkless of a naija used car......it's madness not to.if seller no gree,I go waka ni

I was at the cars45 inspection centre in lekki in January this year for an evaluation

someone brought a gl450 that was leaking oil and the inspection guy didn't notice despite the obvious smell of burning oil....he confessed not to know the smell, and after further checks confirmed the leakage

this same person said the car I took there had a tapping noise in his report......engine problem probably right?only, the said ride is a diesel engine

so,na cars45 report I go chop undecided

if dem no gree test-drive,why buy??....low price abi?

if something is too good to be true, then it's too good to be true

My bro. I tire o

Sometimes it is important to put these online big mouths in their place.

Some of them will just sit in the confines of their concocted constructions in Ibadan and discuss a business model that their brain can never comprehend.
Now they have age plus some stamps on their passport so they believe they are close to God.

Their voices are the loudest at beer parlours as they talk affirmatively on subjects that have no authority on in their medulla.

Simple research, they cannot do. Just to shout fraud fraud fraud like a local dog bitten by another local dog.

I am here for them. They are cockroaches and they must be expunged.

You're def a fool...

To even face me and say rubbish.

Firstly, they sold me a car without custom paper... I asked for custom papers before making payment but they said papers will be brought out after I pay...

After payment, story changed... they didn't know it didn't have papers... pay extra 60k for the papers...

Engine is almost dead...

Gear is almost dead...

And so on...

So you in your shallow mind believe cars45 wrote these things on their report for me and I bought the car?

In short, you're a bastard to even defend what's not defendable...

Share a copy of the report you were given.

If you are bold enough, share the car's internal code that was clearly stated on the documents and I would share your vehicle's report for all to see.

You have two options; either you share the reports or you continue exhibiting how poorly trained you are by abusing your parents. Either option you choose, people would definitely know what stock you were cut from

Helpishere and Denn, please state why you shifted the point of argument to maintenance history/ culture from the fact facing us that cars45 presented 2 reports for same vehicle, they stated its 2011 when selling, but 2009 when buying...

Please sit down and have deep thoughts about all the OP and others who shared there experience have said and if you truly are straightforward state if you think cars45 was totally truthful in their dealings.

I appreciate your line of thoughts on this issue.

Permit me however to ask some pertinent questions.

Can the op or any other person provide evidence to show that the car had two different reports at the same time?

Is there any evidence where cars45 stated that the car as 2011 or accusations are just based on claims by the op? How about the VIN sticker on cars that clearly shows year of manufacture? Should the op not have logically checked that if there was any doubt before purchase?

The OP did not complain of any fault during uber usage on the first day and even prior during transport from cars45 to the OP's location. Complaint came on the second day (of which a lot of issues could have happened via driver neglect. Did the driver for example check the coolant level before driving out in the morning?, was there any drive where the undercarriage scraped bad road sections, was the radiator cover properly reinstalled after the morning check etc)

My argument is that the OP is being economical with the truth on some aspects of this transaction. It is very easy to claim a victim status.

Whilst I am not happy that the op suffered some loss and inconveniences on the vehicle transaction, I think this is a learning point for all parties.

A vehicle buyer should not assume a car is 100% fit to travel to Akwa-Ibom 15 minutes after purchase even after negligently failing to read the inspection report.

Was it easy for you to recognize this current bustling part of Lagos? Anyway, this is Idumota linking Carter Bridge from Ebute-Metta to the Island during the late 50’s. This picture woas shot sometime in 1959.

The second picture depicts the scoreboard, showing results of the Federal elections of Saturday, December 12th, 1959. Today, technology plays almost all roles of this kind.

The first picture cannot be 1959.

The cars are driving on the right hand (this started around the early 70s in Nigeria)

The car designs are of the 1970s era.

A Mercedes 911 Molue is clearly seen being used for transport. In the 50s, it was the bolekaja that was being used in Lagos (lorries with a wooden rear construction).

I SAY THIS, CARS45 are scam and dishonest. i wanted buying a c class and called kingreign but he was busy so i left akwa ibom to lagos with my mechanic, we saw an ad of a 2005 c230 kompressor and called its seller who took us to their ikeja office adjacent mobil station. saw the car, my mechanic wasn't able to scan or drive it reasons known to the cars45 staff who wore their id card. the car was clean inside out we asked for papers they said the paper was avialable and after payment we were given the document which i didnt check due to my being late. we started driving and towards berger ojodu its engine knocked. we towed it to ladipo got new engine only for the mechanic to tell me they brought that same car to him and he adviced them to replace the engine and gearbox as the gear stops selecting when its hot. long and short i replaced both engine and transmission. only to discover they only gave me some copies of the car papers and not all. i spent 480k to put that car and its document back in shape.

Did you read the inspection reports?

The ladipo mechanic advised to change engine and transmission because transmission stops working when hot? Can you see the logic the mechanic used? Read that part slowly please.

You were in a hurry and could not read the documents given to you (which also contains a hardcopy of the inspection report). You left akwa ibom to come buy a car in Lagos but suddenly you were in so much of an hurry that you could not spend 10 minutes to go through a report and discuss same with your mechanic.

You even had a plan of driving a used car you had no history with all the way to akwa ibom from Lagos just few minutes after purchase. What preventive maintenance did you or your mechanic perform before the journey? What caused the engine failure?

Can you itemise what you spent the 480k on (cost of complete engine and transmission in ladipo is not up to that)
