Any need for a supplementary form instead of depositing the new amount straight away. Or you mean those that have the former amount deposited?
I think you may be right. Maybe we should just deposit the 8640 euro straightaway. It would be blocked. I think the supplementary form should be for people that already deposited 8040 euro earlier and got a confirmation on it. They need to transfer in 600 euro + 150 euro, then fill and send the supplementary form so as to change the blocking to 8640 euro.

UncleJudax:
So, for those that already have an account with Deutsche Bank. You are required to fill out a supplementary form on the €8640 update.

Whats the best way to send back the filled out form to DB? Through the Embassy again?
undecided
I don't think there's any need to go through the embassy for this.

You messed up big time when you asked the embassy to hold on with the visa application procedure. you should have sort for pieces of advice here before sending that email, because the embassy doesn't waste time in taking its decision . if you had let them be, I am sure your visa must been approved by now and as soon as you send the DB confirmation and the winter Koblenz admission letter you will probably be asked to submit your insurance after a day or 2.

After you fund your acct attach with the Koblenz admission ( winter) letter and e-mail it to them, then ask for the status of your application. If you are lucky they will continue with it, if not they will ask you to withdraw the visa application n reapply for another interview.
Goodluck
Thanks bro. The reason I sent that message was for the fear that I might get a rejection letter if the summer enrolment deadline passed and I don't produce the DB payment confirmation. I feel they won't still withhold my documents since January up till now if enrolment deadline (April 12th) passed and I kept mute... That's why I took that action. But thanks for ur candid advice. I appreciate.

It appears the German embassy here is never up-to-date with some of these pronouncements. angry

Even on the Student visa checklist, the amount to be blocked still reads €7908 (minimum). undecided

Worst is, if you write to the visa section about specifics, they will more often than not refer you to their 'not so updated' website.

The embassy should be our 'information box'; pro-active, accessible and reliable. Sadly, the opposite is at play atm.
So annoying. Abeg I wan sleep. I don taya... Arggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news but it seems the blocked account money is now 8640 euros
I did my form A transaction a few weeks ago and about a couple of days ago I was debited but I still didn't receive any confirmation so I sent them an email via their contact form...I got this reply
Dear Sirs,

the amount mentioned in our confirmation of account opening has not been
credited completely until now or there is no credit entry.

After the whole amount has been credited you will receive the confirmation
as soon as possible.

If you want to change the blocked amount we need a new signed
"supplementary form" from you in original.

Please send documents only in original by postal or courier service to our
address.
I was even thinking maybe I needed to add an extra 50 euros to make it 8090..But I decided to send them a message on Facebook to confirm
They replied immediately informing that as per the new guidelines from German Embassy in order to cover living costs, the new blocked amount is now 8640 euros
Oh no! Why is all these happening at the same time? Exchange rate is higher, now an additional 600€ ?. Hmmm... Devil, you are a liar!
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by dennisMOD(m): 10:31am On Jun 29, 2016
Touched by @Pepson's post, I have decided to throw my own personal ordeal to the house here and see if anyone has had a similar experience. I hope to receive advice from you guys.
Errm... Ok, I applied to 3 Universities for Master Program in 2016 Summer . I was admitted to the University of Koblenz-Landau (Environmental Sci). The summer program began on 01.04.16. I had my student visa application interview on 29th Jan, 2016 and I received a mail from the embassy an hour after the interview stating that I should fund my account and send the confirmation to them in order to complete my visa application. The other guy we had the interview same day called me a week after the interview that his documents was posted to him in Kano with a rejection letter (despite say the guy don fund even before interview oh). I became afraid I would also be denied but I didn't get any message from the embassy at all. To spoil it all, I had difficulties funding my blocked account then. As the enrolment deadline drew closer, I decided to send a mail to the embassy in the first week of April (before enrolment deadline @ Koblenz) telling the embassy to withhold my visa application. I explained in the mail that I had written to my prospective university that I would like to re-apply for winter '16 (this winter). I also explained that I want to learn some Deutsch at the Goethe Institut with my free period before winter (which am currently doing). I didn't get any reply from the embassy. I feared that my documents would be posted to me with a rejection letter in the courier envelope I submitted after interview. I kept tracking the self-addressed courier envelope online everyday, yet nothing!‎
Finally, winter applications for Master Program opened and thank GOD I had many certified copies of my credentials so I didn't really need my original documents (wey dey for embassy since January 29th interview date). I began to apply afresh for winter with my certified copies of credentials.‎
Now I have admission letter from that same University of Koblenz-Landau (wey I use do interview), and I also have admission letters from ALU-Freiburg, JLU-Giessen, University of Duisburg-Essen and also awaiting from Uni-Bremen und Trier. I'm presently in a position to fund my blocked account with Form-A.
Now my question is this: ‎
After I successfully fund my blocked account, do I have to book for a fresh interview at the embassy again oder Should I just send the DB blocked account payment confirmation with the new Winter Admission Letter from Uni-Koblenz (since I used the summer admission letter of same University for interview)?
Is there anyone here that has been in this kind of scenario? Pls advise because man no fit sleep oh. Danke schön.‎

Schwartz:
This an area I know about very well. *clears throat*
If you are 29 or younger you can easily get public insurance at 83€ monthly which is student rate. But if you are 30 or older you can no longer pay the students rate. You are to pay 170.43€ monthly. Now you have an option of going for something cheaper. Mawista for example offers insurance for this class of students for rates starting from 33€. You choose the premium according to the coverage they offer.
But with experience I would advice strongly that you overlook that money and go for public insurance at 170€. This is because if you fall ill and need to be hospitalized you would bless God for sticking with them. Medical bills are very very high here. Its so expensive that its unaffordable. Now private insurance can be funny. They will not pay for any sickness you have had before joining them. They may not pick all your bills. You have to pay out of pocket for some treatment and check ups plus follow up care. Public insurance has no issues with that. You don't even see your bill.
Now when you go to a hospital with your private insurance paper the doctors will not even like it. They will be complaining(my experience) they are not familiar with this company. They may tell you that they will send the bill to you so you pay them directly first.after you send the bill to the insurance company they may begin to ask questions and say we will pay this percentage, this and that. In short their whahala is something else. You can never tell if they will quietly pay all the bills or they will start with their whahala. But with public you go to the hospital you flash your card. Everyone is happy. They will not withhold any type of treatment from you. They will carry out as many extensive tests and treatment for you knowing fully well that they deal directly with the insurance company and you won't even see the bill. Maybe just 10€ for hospital stay. Having experienced private and public, I would say public insurance is a breath of fresh air.
Thanks dear. I sent u a PM

If you want to write toefl

Download the software, toefl interactive sampler 2014 and toefl sampler 2009(i prefer the older one). Download toefl preparatory guide (pdf). Download the mobile application Edusynch, it will give you loads of toefl style questions. I used it on Android (it's in beta stage now and it is free including speaking and writing section)

Familiarise yourself with how the exam is structured, how the questions are asked and the different types of questions in all the stages and how all these questions are scored. It will help you organise your answers. Try to practice each section in exam manner at least 5 times.

Don't let all these make you feel like it's too much work. If you register now, the time between now and the exam is enough if you dedicate an hour to study everyday. These exams are designed for people who don't speak English day to day not for educated Nigerians. I scored 110,and I didn't follow my advice here. All perused all those materials once. Lots of edusynch tho

I prefer toefl iBT to ielts because it is computer based whereas ielts is paper based (no be say I don't write am). That's me anyway. Best of luck

Do you prefer Duisburg-Essen to the others? I want to apply for Msc Sustainable Urban technologies, but they are requesting for a 2.0 German GPA. I have a 2.3, I think
Thanks bro. My bosses advised that Duisburg-essen is better so I think I will go with that sir. I will begin to work on the TOEFL.

Eke40seven:
Do you have admission in all these places? Duisburg -Essen it is for me. Wonderful mobility because they have the best semester ticket in the whole country, a good school and larger area to assess.

Freiburg would have been nice, but it's veeeeerreyyy expensive for students (cost of housing) and as always being in Baden W, the semester ticket is comparatively shitty.

Trier, a remote place on the border, nice school, bad semester ticket and not so long residence extension for international students.

Koblenz Lindau, nice school but based on what you want, DONT!

Nice debate between Schwartz and the rest. However, we need people like her to moderate the overtly high expectations and perception people have about this place.
Thanks Eke40seven. From Duisburg-essen is a conditional admission. They asked me to write IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (86ibt) and send the scores in order to get the authentic admission and they gave me till Sept 9th to do that. Aber I already got admission frm Koblenz-Landau and Freiburg, awaiting Trier.
Pls who can help me with study materials for TOEFL or IELTS plsssssssss.. my e-mail: chat2dennis247@yahoo.com

Dear Mr. Oladunwo,

You have applied for the international MSc programme Environmental Sciences  (elective track Wildlife, Vegetation and Biodiversity) at the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources in Freiburg.

I am very pleased to confirm that the programme committee has chosen your application and would like to welcome you as student of our programme. However, this has only been the first step. The second and last step is the formality check of the international admission service of Freiburg University. They still have to verify if your first degree formally fulfils the requirements for being admitted to a Master programme.

Please confirm bindingly until June 30 if you will accept the study place. As soon as we receive your confirmation (by e-mail), we will send your application documents to the central admission office of Freiburg University, where the official admission letter will be issued and sent to you.

The admission letter will be sent to the address you listed on the online application form under "current address". If your address has changed or will change please inform us. The admission letter will be sent by mid or end of July. To be on the safe side, your address should be valid until August.

The first module will start on October 17th, but there will be two introductory days on October 13th and 14th.  Attached you will find useful information about dates, fees, housing etc. It might help you to make your decision.

Please don´t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or doubts. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Please, how do i go about the next step?
I received same mail. Simply reply that you accept the study place.

You r applying for a master programme so i think average grade shd b ur Nigeria university cgpa or equiv.

Guys correct me if im wrong

#
I thought about that too initially bro. But if I write my University CGPA as average grade under University Entrance Qualification, then that means I have to repeat same CGPA under Final grade for University degree. I'm thinking maybe I should do just that if it would be accepted. After all, they will receive all my hard copy documents. They should evaluate and get the UEQ grade themselves.

Hello everyone,
I am having a problem trying to apply online for a Master Program @ Trier Uni.
In the field of the University Entrance Qualification (UEQ)‎, I've been asked to input the average grade of my University Entrance Qualification which is "WASSCE" here in Nigeria. There's no average grade indication on the WASSCE certificate. We only have the subjects and each grade to it, hence I do not know what to input in the field of "average grade". The field is asterisked, hence without filling it, I can't go further with my online application. Please help look into this and let me know what to do if u've had this kinda experience before.

You're correct! because from 670 euro monthly, one would still pay for accommodation & insurance monthly, hence one can in no way spend up to 24 euro daily from the 670 euro & they still live fine. Let alone his own case where accommodation is already taken care of by his sponsor.

Thank you for reaching out. I actually have certified all of my documents. My issue basically is
(a) I earlier applied only to a school and got reject; Now I want to apply to any other school that still have the admission for Winter on before it's closed. I hope it's not too late
(b) I don't want to have to send hard copy documents again with another 12k until I'm quite sure the admission is secured. I'd prefer schools with online application before final sending of hard copies.

Do you know any that fall into this category??

Danke Bruder!
