lobito007: Their rate is so killing. Commission is 2%. Highest other banks do is 1%. I have applied there too. We just have no other option right now.
PS: Why did you not make it 8090 eur to make up for the 50 eur commission for db? Damn! That means they will take another 70k or more. God dey sha. The man told me he doesn't wanna see any other amount apart from what is stated on the DB details. I tried to explain and show him where it's stated on the DB details that 50 eur will go for DB account processing but he wouldn't listen so I just filled another FORM-A and wrote 8040 Euro. I get 100 eur for my dom account so I go transfer 50 eur from it if possible. |

chinok97: Lol,welcome to the club of ecobank..I advise you make sure you have at least 70-80k remaining in the account..and your money is still with them until they debit the swift fee..ask for a telex copy too via email. Dey will forward it to standard chartered frankfurt which will then send it to dB for you..after you have been debited for offshore charges wt AL..you get dB confirmation 3days after(all things being well).
I was debited around 50-60k for bank charges albeit I used current..so maybe that's why..but add more asap.. Thanks my brother. I don top up 100k for them to charge whatever they want to charge. In the end, I just hope and pray it's all worth it. How's Hamburg? |

chrisley024: Well, I don't know how EcoBank run theirs but I suggest you deposit around 40k 1st thing 2moro morning for bank charges to avoid delay in the transfer. Don't think it should be more than that. Thanks bro. I already did. |

I don't know if ECOBANK has began to do blue market transaction but anyway, I just got debited of N3,342,228.16 for €8040.00 today. I applied for FORM-A at the head office on Friday, last week and I was debited this morning. The transaction alert in my e-mail shows this calculation below: €8040 = $9149.52. Cross Rate for that day was EUR8040@365.29/USD1.138/EUR. Hence the N365.29 rate I filled in the FORM-A which I thought was EUR/NAIRA rate was apparently USD/NAIRA because N365.29 x $9149.52 = N3,342,228.16. By my calculation, it's about N415/EUR sha. Infact, na N8000 remain for my account sef and dem never komot bank charges join body. I don't even know how much that would be but I heard I will be called to top-up. Pls guys, what is the bank charges like? I want to quickly top-up the account so they don't revert the FX transaction because of bank charges? That's that. So for those who are delayed by FORM-A, if you have the money, I recommend ECOBANK Head Office since they debited so fast. Another thing bothering me is this... Does debiting my account this fast means they will fund my DB account and let me have DB confirmation on time? I hope they didn't just debit my account for nothing? Who used Ecobank to fund DB account recently? Abeg enlighten me... I will be glad. When I receive DB confirmation, I will let u guys know. I hope it goes well. |

kilo4sure: I would advise they do not indicate their changed marital status for now, that would be safer in my opinion. Let the wife continue with her old name, due to the fact that she started with it already to avoid complications. Probably when they get to Germany after some time, they can then marry legally again, or in whatever legal way they would prefer to change their marital status then. This is just my opinion though, others can contribute. Kilo4sure, I miss u brother. Your whatsapp contact ain't functioning anymore. Let's relate. Send me a mail (chat2dennis247@yahoo.com). |

University of Duisburg-Essen, in June this year gave me a conditional admission for study place (Master Program in Environmental Toxicology)... on a condition to write IELTS or TOEFL and send the result before Sept 15(next month) in order to get the authentic admission letter. I wrote to them that I had all my education in English Language and in fact English is the official language of administration in Nigeria. I asked to produce a Proficiency Letter from my ex-University, they declined. They said IELTS/TOEFL or nothing. Ok then, I bone them because I have other admission letters. But to my surprise this morning, I received this message.
Dear Dennis, The faculty agreed to accept the fact that English is the official language in Nigeria and says that it is okay as an English proof. Please find attached your admission letter for the winter semester 2016/2017 for your further process. Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards i.A. (Mrs.) Nicole Kollek Universität Duisburg-Essen / Campus Essen Akademisches Auslandsamt (International Office) Universitätsstr. 15 45117 Essen
This is my 5th admission letter from Germany this term. GOD punish Naija Economy(Exchange rate) wey hinder me to fund my DB acct till now. Still hoping for the best.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Ensure you always mail your prospective schools when issues like this come up. You might just be lucky. |

Augustine21: H mmm . B4 our very eyes 1 euro moved from 285 to 358 in less than two months after floating. What kind of country is this.... I just left Ecobank, rate today is 364 naira per euro. That's the official rate. But I was advised to round it up to 370 or 371 if I want my transfer to be fast. The higher the rate on your money, the faster your transfer. They said latest, 2 weeks it'll be done. So I will advice people that have the fund to try Ecobank henceforth. As for me, I budgeted 350 naira per euro and that's all I can afford, so I can't initiate the transfer. Remember, it's no more €8090, it's now €8640+€150. Best of luck guys. Signing out! |
