Congratulations Spyder, very well done, may God continue to bless your household |
what's the cost per acre for the irrigation, including installation How long does it take to install what do you need to already be on the farm before you can deploy |
Do you still have in Alabata and how close to the market is it |
You dont expect a first level customer service or rep to have such details, besides it is normal for big companies to have a a pre determined answer so has to manage the information passed out and ensure consistency. The fact that you are a potential customer doesn't avail you access to such information. Perhaps you could do what I just did and checkout Leadway's website to get an idea of the type of coverage they offer , below is an extract from the website "Agric Insurance Take the worry out of farming with any of our Agricultural insurance products. With our range of products, we offer insurance cover for your farm produce, crops, poultry, fish farm, livestock, machinery and equipment etc. against losses from fire, burglary/housebreaking, lightening, flood, explosion, windstorm and other perils by mitigating the impact of losses. Call 01-2800700 to speak with someone in our Customer Service Team." Farmcrowdy is new and it is right to be sceptical but in doing to we should be careful of castigation, otherwise as a nation we will never grow. I am also a potential investor |
where in wasimi, what documents are available and is it a virgin land, could you send the coordinates |
Hi Jethro, nice work. Is your training for general farm managers or strictly for tomato farmers For those of us who might want to sponsor a trainee with the intention of hiring them, do you have any training course on how to manage the farm managers. |
My advice is simple, stay back in Nigeria and hustle, if in the present Nigeria you can command N800k then you aren't part of the suffering masses. If you relocate to Europe, you will definitely become part of the illegal suffering masses and I can assure you with N800k, you will be broke by month 2 and then you will know the real meaning of suffering, at least back home people close to you or your neighbours will notice you haven't eaten, once you are out of the country, you are on your own, especially as you have no plan of exactly what it is you are coming to do. Gone are the days of hustling, you will need papers to even wash toilets and that my brother requires years of experience. With N800k, visit the agriculture sector and find out how to lease a land from government for farming and do something productive, the world is changing , now isn't the time to play lottery with your future.........ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD |
On what road is the land and what's the minimum acre of land one can buy, is there any water stream close by and is it a virgin land |
No surprise there, next time you are in such a situation make sure you are the first to get to work, it gives you more respect and indicates nothing can distract you from your work life and there is a no excuse for being late, especially when a global mail had been sent ahead warning of the consequences. It is a normal life in the city in London, your director tells the whole team to come out for a drink and you keep crawling from one pub to another until it is 5am in the morning. usually the boss is the first in the office for the 8am meeting, hence why people keep new shirts and suits in the office......working hard and playing hard with good pay is not a 9 to 5 job |
There is nothing to be scared about, if you are being offered a PHD course, it only means your study wont end at the MSc stage but continue until you finish your PHD, you will still do the MSc modules before you start the PHD proper. It is at the MSc stage your research methodology knowledge will be enhanced in preparation for the Phd |
There are different factors that determine the cost of fuel, it is not right to review it in isolation, in London as of today a litre of petrol is £1 which is about N400, last year it was £1.40 per litre |
Quite sad, may her soul rest in peace |
Quite an interesting thread, unfortunately you cant blame the organisations because they are set up to make more money and do anything to give dividends to their shareholders especially in an environment like nigeria where the ratio of applicants to available jobs is out of this world. It is time the youths start looking inward at what they can do to make money and not believe your qualification gives you any right to a particular mode of life. the strenght of the western world lies in the SME's (small medium enterprise) and not in its graduate system, we have to start seeing our education as a way of improving ourselves to be able to think outside the box and not neccesary as a way of getting a job. There are a lot of business opportunities and ideas that one can come up with that doesnt really require you to have a huge capital, for example business is simply having the ability to buy for N50 and sell for N70 and repeating that process as many times as possible, let us cultivate the habit of taking control of our destiny and not wait for another to give it to you, as no one will ever give you what you are worth. If a company pays you N500k per month it is because they know you will deliver at least N10m worth of service to them in that month. You dont need big money to start a business Amazon started in a garage, one of the biggest retailers in the US started with selling $20 tomatoes on a daily basis for $40 dollars and the rest is history. If you can look for something you can buy for N5,000 and sell for N6,000 with a contant regularity then you are in business and on your way to financial freedom, this is usually found in the consumables industry FMCG. |
Galads:Thanks for your write up but as you indicated due dilligence needs to be done in any business venture before going into it but that alone doesnt do anything other than make you aware of the risk, it doesnt eliminate the prospect of a loss as there are other factors that affect the marketability of a product. A one day visit to a market doesnt qualify as a research as you need to study the trends over a number of month or years in some cases and despite the best researches the effects of demand and supply will always take its course. There is no business that is foolproof , you will need to learn as you go along, you will probably learn more from mistakes than you will learn from any research. The election period isnt the right time to get the correct pulse of the market becasue of all the uncertainties that are tied the the election .Before the election the pound was exchanging for N330 this week it is exchanging for N280, that is not to say the foreign exchange market is going down. I would like to commend catered4 for such an educational thread |
My advice is to take the job and use it as an opportunity to get the much required experience, your focus now shouldn't be on the salary but on the experience you will gain and the opportunities such experience will afford you in the future. You are a graduate not only to earn good money but to have the ability to see beyond the present and further equip yourself, every day spent in a job is another extra day of experience, which after a year will be worth much more than the monetary benefits you will get from it. Your first 2 years of working should be about positioning your self by getting the right number of years and experience under your belt. A good soup doesnt become edible the first minute you put it on the cooker, irrespective of the quality of the ingredients Goodluck |
It is sad to see we are still at the same point we were the last time I was online, in circumstances like this it is normal for us to get emotional as life is involved but you also need a well laid out set of actions to ensure you get the desired outcome we all want. While I was one of those clamouring for an update, it had nothing to do with Folake coming online or having visibility of receipts, as that doesn’t had value on its own, in the mail of Jan 28th Kingolaola said $12,500 dollar was needed and afterwards he said he had received some donations, if he had said for example he needs N3m and has only N800k, with God all things are possible, I believe we won’t be talking about money today but praying for a successful treatment. There are many people who aren’t members of this forum who came online as guests just to see things for themselves with the intention of helping and who were more resolved to helping after seeing the average Nigerian contributing their widow’s might The post below is what caught our attention in the first place “The Doctor says we have to do something urgently But we have exhausted all we have and we have to move her back home. Please My people, I plead to you in the name of God. HELP SAVE FOLAKE. OUR PARENT ARE BOTH RETIRED and we cannot even let them know the present condition because my mummy will surely react bad just simply say. PLEASE HELP ME SAFE FOLAKE”. When you seek for assistance in an open forum such as this, don’t imagine you know all who will see your pleas When you pray for a blessing it is also important that you position yourself to receive. Folake I wish you well and I pray that God in his infinite mercy will grant you complete healing and please you don’t need to be online, you have to learn to conserve your energy and rest. Have a good day |
It is nice to know Folake is fine , we pray that your healing will be complete it is sad that Kingolaola is quiet at this point when everyone is eagerly expecting an update, even though your profile page says you were last seen online at 8.59, a few minutes ago. As Folake said there is a reason for your silence. |
