Hello bro. Please i'd like to get in touch with you. Need some info on how you did your Covid PCR test before you travelled. Thanks.
Highzhikk:
No, it was never updated. It later changed from "Refused" to "Administrative processing" when they called that they were ready to Issue Visa

I don't think you should have compiled them into a single PDF. Attach them to the mail separately and resend.
Darewa:

Hello guys, I am new here.
Please, how did you get the previous surge date for Dec 1? I sent my documents via the respective email on Dec 3 but I haven't received any response. I compiled all the documents into one pdf. I didn't go through the other protocol to apply for expedited date.

Please, I want to be sure I am on track. How long does it take them to respond?

Than you.

No, nothing like that.
Chynwem:
Good day all, please is there any form of medicals that is carried out at the embassy before the interview? Or even coming with a medical or police report. Is there any such thing?
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by deolubajo: 9:38am On Nov 23, 2021
I think you should reapply, try Lagos consulate for your next one.
anjyy:
Thanks to everyone that assisted me on this journey.

I later deferred.

I have done my interview at the Abuja Embassy with the dreadful Korean guy.

VO : Do you have any travel history?
Me : None.
VO : what do you do currently?
Me : I am a lecture at XYZ
VO : Ok.
VO: What is your highest qualification?
Me: I have a masters Degree with Distinction
VO: Who is paying for your Trip?
Me: my husband.
VO to my husband: what do you do?
Him : I work as an Engineer at ABC
VO : How much do you make?
Him: I make 500k monthly.
VO : Do you have your bank statements?
Him: Yes. He showed him.
VO : This is ok.
VO: what would you be doing in the US?
Him: I am going with my family to settle them in, I would be back to my job.
Him: I have some projects I need to come back to.
VO: Where would the baby be?
Him: She would be staying at the creche.

VO: Madam, I would be approving only your visa.
Unfortunately I won't be granting your baby and your husband.

My baby is just 6 months.

I am thinking of reapplying for her, please advise.

I wonder why a 6 months baby would be denied. I am going for PHD.

You can mention that you plan to go into academia after your PhD, so you will be coming back to Nigeria to work as a full-time lecturer in chemistry at your alma mater.
KHAshishi:
Hey guys ,
So, I have been working in the banking sector for about 2years now . I just got a fully funded PhD admission in chemistry with GTA.

My highest degree is a BSc in Chemistry.

My question is ; how best can I convince the VO that I will be coming back to Nigeria ?? Please I need answers

Looks perfect to me. It's always advisable to outline what you do in detail and you have done that.
Chynwem:
Please house!!!

The VO asked me if I had travelled out in the last two weeks which I did not. So I suspect it is a case of a name hit. I am quite patient though.
Swerveking14:
Just be positive…they sometime take time to run some checks on you before giving you a green light. Might be bank statement verification or anything, it could even be with the sch u applied to or the one u graduated from….Just be positive.

Having the same issue. Two weeks now for me. Interviewed in Abuja.
jswaggzo:
I got approved for my F1 visa last week, but when I went to pick up my passport, the DHL attendant said it’s under “administrative processing”. I checked the visa status myself and it says the same thing. My school resumes first week of January. I’m confused because the consular officer approved my visa during the interview. Please who has any experience with this issue.

Okay bro. My visa got approved almost two weeks ago but I have not gotten my passport back yet. My CEAC status is presently showing administrative processing and my case status was last updated on the date of the interview. No document requested yet too. So I am a bit confused.
Highzhikk:
No, it was never updated. It later changed from "Refused" to "Administrative processing" when they called that they were ready to Issue Visa
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by deolubajo: 1:19pm On Nov 07, 2021
Hello bro. Please all through your 60 days wait back then, was your case status on the Ceac tracker updated at anytime in between the wait or it was only updated when your visa was finally approved?
Highzhikk:
I think it's normal. My CGI portal remained the same for like 2 weeks after I was refused under section 221g and my passport given back to me, it disappeared later. The best way to check your case status is to use the Ceac tracker

You can start a new application instead.
Prettiyruth:
Good evening, I’m finding it difficult filling the ds-160 form. It keeps logging me out after generating the application Id. Once I click retrieve application , it asks for surname and year of birth and I haven’t imputed that cos I haven’t gotten to that section. If I go ahead to input the surname, it will say information doesn’t match. I don’t know what else to do. Kindly help

Please have you received your stamped passport yet? I got approved on the same day in Abuja but I am yet to get my passport back (Visa status still showing under administrative processing).

Visa Approval transcript
Abuja Embassy
October 26th 2021. 8:30 am
PhD Civil Engineering (Fully Funded) Spring 2022
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Previously denied a B1 and F1 visa in 2018
Interviewed by a white American man

Me: Good Morning

VO: Can I have your I-20 and passport, please?

Me: (Hands over required documents)

VO: Have you travelled out of Nigeria before?

Me: Yes

VO: Where and for what purpose?

Me: I was in Saudi Arabia for my Master's Program.

VO: How long were you there, and can I see your masters certificate

Me: I was there from 2018 till June 2021. I showed him my Certificate, and he checked the graduation date to confirm the date I mentioned.

VO: Are you working presently?

Me: No, I have been working on my master's thesis research papers since I got back to Nigeria in June. I have also been learning new software I will need for my doctorate study.

VO: (Nods head in unison)Why are you going for a PhD?

Me: I worked on cementitious materials for my master's thesis. I want to gain an extensive and in-depth knowledge of the use of supplementary cementitious materials in concrete. Hence the reason for advancing further for a PhD.

VO: What do you plan to do after your study?

Me: After my PhD, I plan to advance further as a teacher and a researcher. So I will be coming back to Nigeria to work as a full-time lecturer at my alma mater, the University of Lagos, and research discovering new local cementitious materials to be used in concrete production.

VO: Do you have a family member in the US?

Me: Yes, my mom's younger brother.

VO: Where in the US does he stay?

Me: Providence, Rhodes Island.

VO: Everything checks out. I will be approving your VISA.

Summary: He mostly asked questions from what I filled in my DS-160 form to confirm if everything correlates. And I believe the question about the location of my mom's brother in the US was from my past B1 visa denial transcript.

Thanks to everyone that shared their transcripts. It helped. God bless you.

Hello bro, Please, what other questions did the Korean guy ask during your interview apart from your travel history? I will be going for my interview at the Abuja embassy soon.

Good day guys, please can anyone help us give reviews of the VOs in Lagos Abeg. Please let's know the ones that deny base on travelling history and those that don't care about travelling history.
