Nigeria seem to be the only country on planet Earth where jambites would be telling Prof what to do and how to do it in all aspect of life.

Bro relax, this is not a fight contest.

My point, is as long you are political, you can only see things in one way. Same way you sometimes wonder how on earth will someone supports Atiku. The CCTV launching is a good initiative but still misplaced priority. This is not about Nigerians don't have maintenance culture, Ajimobi himself lacks the maintenance. It may be hard for you to see it but I am talking as someone who do not associate with any political party but cares about the development of his region.

Btw, did they actually spend N300m for the installations at the 10 sites?

As long as you are an Apc supporters, even if they are wrong, it would be hard for you to see it. Same way some people believed Jubril story.

Firstly, let me make something clear to you. You have a wrong impression about me. Do you know why? Cos you are blinded by politics.

For your mind now I am Atikulate? No, I love Buhari personally plus Osibanjo factor so I want their re-elections but that doesn't mean I shouldn't condemned them when they make a bad policy which is very hard for you Apc's supporters. Same as Pdp supporters.
1. I started a thread about CCTV in Ibadan, I did not say anything about politics, but you brought up politics, you brought up irrelevant rubbish about GEJ and some scam rubbish in Abuja.

Do you even read the rubbish you type before posting?

2. I care less about your political affiliation and this is not a politics thread so why are you shouting politics, atiku or buhari? Who cares?

3. Stay on topic or just go away if you have nothing better to contribute beyond your blind and illogical criticism.

Or what do you want to tell me about constituted authority?

2. What's GEJ looting and stealing government got to do with CCTV in Oyo state? Was the contract given to the same people, was it awarded by the same people and are the same people going to manage the CCTV in Ibadan?

I know your type, if I say it's raining outside today, right now, you will say it's a lie because it did not rain yesterday, you criticize everything by default just because you don't see yourself doing anything meaningful if, given the same opportunity like the Oyo state governor, you just prefer to sit on the internet and with negativity and ignorance.

Misplaced priority. Where is the electricity to power the CCTV?
My phone was stolen at an international airport in Africa, when I asked for review of the CCTV, they told me they forgot to put it on. Airport for that matter oo
The electricity that powered the system in the pictures came from where? From the MOON.

Nigerian youth, stop thinking like a lazy person, you are supposed to look for creatives ways to overcome obstacles.

Your challenges shouldn't define you or limit your capacity to overcome, these old folks are proving to you that nothing is impossible.

Sometimes I thank God that Nigerian youths are not in charge of anything because they are too negative and incapable of doing anything..

Do you really think the folks involved did not do their research or factor in the power situation before setting up the system?

You think you are smart and know more than other people, I bet given the opportunity to do something, you will not do anything to protect your people and instead sit on your hands for decades until you have stable electricity before you lift a finger.

Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi on Monday commissioned the Safe City project which ncludes the siting of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in 10 crime-prone areas in Ibadan.

The Executive Secretary, Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF), Mr Femi Oyedipe, disclosed that over N300 million has been expended in installing the CCTVs across the state to boost security.

The cameras, which feed a control room under a round-the-clock surveillance, monitor actvities at major junctions in the city.

Oyedipe who harped on the need for individuals and organisations in the state to pay their security levies, assured that with the installation of CCTVs in 10 sites in Ibadan, additional 10 sites are to be located in Oyo, Ogbomoso and Saki areas of the state.

He noted that the response had been commendable since OYSSTF began the collection of the security levy in July. He however urged residents and visitors n the state to coperate with the government to ensure a safer and secured environment for all.

Has Fashola, Buhari and APC done anything, policy wise, to improve the inherited business model in order to make it more attractivehuh
The PDP put in place attractive model after looting and stealing $16 billion power fund with nothing but darkness in return

Exactly what is the meaning of your attractive model?

How come the so-called PDP attractive model generates nothing but darkness?

Please, kindly explain to us the great PDP model and exactly the model you think the current administration should put in place to help or make private businesses do their job.

This man is unravelling and it is a joy to watch.

An extremely cynical individual. undecided This is the same man who as Lagos state governor said Freedom of Information legislation should be applicable to the federal government but not the states.

Instead of addressing the key reasons why there is no power - (reasons such as government's indebtedness to GENCOs and the ineffective, compromised NERC) the man now tells Nigerians they are to blame for their problems.

In a sense though, the man is right. Nigerians, through their unbelievably poor choices ARE to blame for their problems.

A country gets the leadership it deserves.
1. You want him to tell you why there is no power? Are you a foreigner and you've been living under the rock somewhere in Afghanistan so you have zero clue how for decades since independence past governments failed to do anything about electricity and how 16 years of PDP and stolen $16 billion gave us darkness till today?

2. By contract and constitutional provisions enacted by OBJ, Jonathan and the PDP, power generation and distribution is completely Private, it means it is not in the hands of the FG.

So, what part of privatization do you not understand.

3. When the PDP gave Nigeria's power assets to their corrupt cronies with no power generation and management experience and no money to build power plants and distribution network, did you people complain?

I remember what you people were shooting, you were shouting GEJ till 2019, you basically care less about power and the damage they did with privatization..

4. The DISCOs today as part of their obligation should be expanding their operations from building power plants, building distribution networks, investing in solar power generation and other alternatives.

.....but they can not do anything because they don't have money to invest and the banks won't lend them money because banks don't trust them.

5. The DISCOs right now are useless and the FG should terminate the whole privatization deal, but sadly they can not because they don't want to scare off investors or create any impression that the FG doesn't respect agreements. I still think they should terminate and let the chips fall wherever.

Sadly, the FG sometimes is not the problem, it is the average ignorant Nigerians with zero knowledge per how their country functions.

If you after not satisfied with the power situation, face your local Disco, hold them accountable.

You don't send your power bill payments to the FG or Fashola, you pay the DISCOs, meaning they are responsible for your power needs.

Nigerian youths want to rule Nigeria, but many of them are too clueless and ignorant, even the basics they don't know.

Fashola just helped and lectured you so take the education and say thanks.

Approaching Okpoko market through thick smog on the back of an okada (motorcycle taxi), the natural reaction is to cover your nose to protect yourself from the dust storm – but the effort is futile.

When a lorry zooms past, kicking up yet another red cloud of dirt, a trader turns the head of a sleeping toddler away from the road, a protective act that is as poignant as it is pointless.

This is a typical day in the southern Nigerian port city of Onitsha – which last year gained notoriety when it was ranked the worst city in the world for the staggering levels of PM10 particulate matter in its air.

Onitsha’s mean annual concentration was recorded at 594 micrograms per cubic metre by the World Health Organization – massively exceeding the WHO’s annual guideline limit for PM10s of 20μg/m3.

PM10 refers to coarse dust particles between 10 and 2.5 micrometres in diameter, while PM2.5s are even finer and more dangerous when inhaled, settling deep in a person’s lungs. Sources of both include dust storms, gases emitted by vehicles, all types of combustion, and industrial activities such as cement manufacturing, construction, mining and smelting. Onitsha scores highly on most of the above – as do other rapidly growing Nigerian cities such as Kaduna, Aba and Umuahia, all of which also featured in the WHO’s 20 worst offenders for PM10s.

In Onitsha’s very busy Okpoko market, my air quality monitor registers 140 for PM10s and 70 for PM2.5s – all way over recommended healthy levels, but still nothing compared to the readings triggered in other parts of this densely populated commercial and industrial hub.

The entire vicinity of the market is perpetually dusty, as wood-sellers saw lumber into different shapes and sizes. The air here is made worse by all the fine sand particles that fly off the back of trucks as they visit one of the many dredging companies on the bank of the River Niger, just behind the wood market.

dainformant:
Rivers State indigenes in the United Kingdom have protested the planned military interference in the forthcoming 2019 General Election, calling on the international community to check the excesses of the Federal Government.

The protest which was powered by the One Million Youths for New Rivers State held at the Nigerian High Commission in London.

The group submitted their petition to the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, the House of Commons and also briefed the leadership of the Nigerian Community in the United Kingdom.

The protesters who were led by the National Coordinator of One Million Youths for New Rivers State, Hon Ehie Edison and Secretary General, Hon Major Jack also condemned the use of the Nigerian Armed Forces to intimidate voters and political opponents of the Federal Government.

They further condemned the non implementation of the Ogoni clean up exercise despite the flag off of the process three years ago.

The protesters said they resolved to involve the international community because it is obvious that the Federal Government plans to rig the 2019 elections.

They stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has distributed permanent voters cards to citizens of neighbouring Niger Republic in order to rig the elections.

A spokesman for the protesters also condemned the fact that the Federal Government drew up an itinerary that prevented Prince Charles of Wales from visiting the oil rich Niger Delta.

They called on the United Kingdom to work with other countries to ensure free, fair and peaceful polls in 2019.

According to them, President Muhammadu Buhari should not be allowed to use the military to rig the 2019 General election, especially in Rivers and other Niger Delta States.

The protesters were received by officials of the Nigerian High Commission to the United Kingdom.

Lazy and ignorant Nigerian youths should be thanking the minister for the very necessary and inciteful lecture.

Many Nigerians saw and heard privatization under OBJ and GEJ, but they didn't and still don't know the meaning, they did not question OBJ/JONA and PDP when they took away the FG's power generation and distribution responsibilities and obligations in favor of their cronies with zero experience in power generation and distribution business or any financial balance to run, invest and grow their power business with.

The minister placed before the obvious truth before the ignorant and unintelligent Nigerians, the FG is not responsible for your power needs beyond regulations and supervision.

If you don't know the meaning of privatization, look it up in the dictionary.

Oga you and I know if Buhari would want to send any representative,it won't be Saraki i.Looks like the presidency wasn't even invited if not Osinbanjo would have been sent to represent the president. Having said that, it's very clear the US personally invited Dr Saraki.

This is because you people can not see or reason beyond politics, pettiness and hatred, Saraki is a federal government official before politics.

PMB is the president and the commander in chief and any public official attending any gathering anywhere on the surface of the earth is a representative of the president, he's at that gathering because the President sent him there.

Invitations are not sent to random institutions or individuals, they are sent to the FG and the FG decides who to send.

Saraki is running errands for the President, but I'm very sure this concept is very foreign to many ignorant and unintelligent ipobs with zero understanding of governmental affairs, diplomacy and common social studies.

This is not even a leadership level gathering so this just another ignorant and lazy Nigerian youths kind of situation
.

Btw, stop saying the US personally invited Saraki because it sounds very embarrassing, shows how backward and ignorant many of you are. International relations and diplomacy don't work that way. Saraki cannot represent Nigeria in any official capacity without the approval and consent of the President of Nigeria.

You people sabi embarrassed Nigeria with your backwardness and ignorance sha
