Unfortunately, he did not take any oath to protect patient confidentiality and so he broke no law. I posted the statute already and I'm sure you read it because you quoted it. Ambode swore to protect the laws of the land, sorry to say again, this is another ignorant excuse to justify criminal behavior. He unlawfully released a protected medical info and even asked the general population to go to gbagada hospital to illegally look and obtain protected health information. That was reckless, unethical, and illegal. |

Nothing personal, just letting you know that ignorance is not and can never be an excuse in any court of law. You can not break the law and defend yourself by saying other people did first before you. It's like saying you stole and you shouldn't be punished for stealing because other people stole too. Ambode broke the law, he committed a criminal offense. Privileged people like Ambode won't go to jail, but you will for 2 long years. |

Did all the General Hospitals dissapeared or their workers go on strike once during his time?
I visited Randle Hopital, Isolo and Igando and though their service was the natural type that civil servant portray . Other than that , every other thing was intact So, just because you visited hospitals in Lagos, they don't need any more hospitals in Lagos for 20 million people and their health care system in Lagos is perfect?Even in developed countries including America where you borrowed democracy from, they are still building new schools and hospitals.
Btw, there's a clear difference between functioning hospitals and building more functioning hospital to serve 20 million people.

That was poor judgment on his part and this is nothing new, I remember how he released official state documents and info to attack and destroy Fashola.

Also it's unlikely the person who leaked the information was a doctor so the Hippocratic oath was not breached either. Confidentiality

BabaRamota1980: There is a wider scope to consider. I will give a short but philosophical input.
Fire is the element of creativity. Every material is tested through its ability to withstand fire. It will survive or it will die in the process.
Conflict of interest is the fire of politics....it makes some, it disgraces some. Through conflicts those previously viewed as underdog and incapable of toppling the system have, by sheer events of accidental miscalculations, proven to come out of the inferno successful and transforming.
McCain vs Obama, 2008, US Presidential Election.
Election was to hold November 2008. As at August 2008 Obama was far behind in all polls, the institutions did not think he understood enough of the challenges to perform and keep America in global leadership. John McCain was the favorite. John's VP, Sarah Palin had scored some inexcusable blunders but John was seeing as an older and steadying hand and Sarah could be coached under his tutelage.
Then a miracle happened in September! News of Enron mismanagement had cascaded into Financial management and similar patterns was showing in the books on Wall Street. Media blew the whistle!
There was fear! Obama's camp took advantage and articulated what could be done to contain and stop the problem from spreading and collapsing the financial market. McCain side responded. Media got involved and wanted to know from the Presidential candidates what measures they will adopt. You all remeber Keynesian theory? . It became a household name.
While Obama would always be proactive, McCain was reactive and most times missed the figures and how to chart the way forward.
My brother, this shyyte happened in September, by October Obama had overtaken and distanced ahead of McCain in polls, and went on to win.
It was not politics that made Obama President, it was financial breakdown and the lack of knowledge in the opposition. If the opposition knew what to do, or if the media had waited till after election to blow that whistle, McCain, not Obama, would have been President.
So pay attention.....Tinubu is the institution in APC, Ambode is nobody compared...but the conflict of interest could work in his favor after the fact. If it did....Tinubu will never regain his political dominance.
Let me stress this point to you using a different style....
Tinubu has plenty to loose... Ambode has nothing to loose...

Where state government remained true to that blueprint, positive things happened. During my tenure and Governor Fashola’s, Lagos state recorded improvements in all aspects of our collective existence, from public health to public sanitation, from education to social services, from the administration of justice to the cleaning of storm and sewage drains. Businesses, large and small, invested, hired millions of workers and thrived. 2 years into AMBODE'S 1st term, I noticed the absence of public health from hospitals to maternity centers, quality infrastructures, social services, housing and so on, in his mind, bus stops and laybys are more important to Lagosians and he shouldn't pay attention to the master-plan and blue print given to him by his predecessors.
Sadly, lagosians going thorough the sad and painful effects of this deviation from bad roads to poor sanitation. |
Politics › Ambode's Number 1 SIN. Lagos Master Plan. by deomelo(op): 11:03pm On Sep 30, 2018 |
Bestowed on me was the honour of a lifetime when I was elected to be your governor in 1999. My administration faithfully implemented that plan. The government of my immediate successor, Tunde Fashola, also honoured this enlightened plan.
All Lagosians were to fully participate and justly benefit from the social dividends and improvements wrought by this plan. From the common labourer, to business leaders, to professionals and our industrious civil service. We all were to be partners in a monumental but joint enterprise. None was to be alienated. None was to be left out. And none were to be pushed aside. This is especially true for those who contributed so much to our development, whether as a business leader who has invested heavily in Lagos, the homeowner who struggles to pay his fair share of taxes or as someone employed in the hard work of keeping our streets and byways clean so that others may go about their daily tasks unimpeded.
I make no pretence that the master plan is perfect. It can always be fine-tuned. However, whenever a government departed from this plan without compelling reason, the state and its people have borne the painful consequence of the improper departure.
To ignore this blueprint for progress in order to replace it with ad-hoc schemes of a materially inferior quality contravenes the spirit of progressive governance and of our party. Such narrowness of perspective does not bring us closer to our appointed destination; it takes us farther from that destiny.
For reasons unknown to me and most Lagosians, we have experienced such deviations from enlightened governance recently.
This trend is that which most concerns me as the primary nears. We must arrest this trend before irreparable harm is committed against the people and their future. For the record, let it be known that I shall vote in this primary because I see it as one of extreme import to our state and our party. Just as I shall vote, I equally urge all party members to do so.
We must vote in a manner that returns Lagos to its better path, the one that promises a just chance for all to enjoy the fruits of our prosperity. We must always pursue our goal of a Lagos energised by creative dynamism, tolerance of others, and guided by a leadership capable of extending a collegial hand to all stakeholders, far and wide.

Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Tuesday inaugurated and handed over Oshorun/Ibeshe road to the two communities of Ikorodu Local Government Area of the state. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the road, seven-kilometre in length, was delivered with drains, pedestrian walkways, service ducts, speed breakers and street lights-- with guaranteed power supply.
Speaking at the inauguration in Ikorodu, Fashola described the delivery of the project as part redemption of his electoral promises to speed up the development of all parts of the state. He said that when he was brought to the community during the electioneering campaign, it took his convoy 45 minutes to drive through due to its bad state. “But today, it took us less than 10 minutes to drive through the road”, he said. The governor explained that the road would usher in more schools, petrol stations and other businesses, stressing that the road was nothing but a statement of fidelity.
“Very soon, the contractors will be here to start work on the Ferry terminal. “Very soon, we will be here to start work on a new housing estate that will deliver 720 flats”, the governor said. He thanked the people of Ikorodu for cooperating with his administration on the 13.3- kilometre Ikorodu road, being expanded from four to six lanes, with a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor. Fashola urged motorists to be patient with the government on the ongoing work, and that the present pain they were experiencing would eventually translate into a thing of joy for them.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr Obafemi Hamzat, said the project was conceived in line with the state government`s determination to open up roads in the rural areas. While restating government`s resolve to execute more development projects in the area, he urged residents to protect the project against vandalism.
`We have built this road according to international standards. I urge you to protect it. No one should come here to cut or damage the road. Take ownership and protect it from damages,” he said. He also said that the state government was constructing no fewer than 10 inner city roads in Ikorodu. (NAN)

How many party members do you want to bribe? Hmmmmm? Mind you their votes have a price but I dont think he has that money to buy all the people or even half of the people that will vote. Can he pay each party member 100k considering the fact that many know that he will dump them after reelection.
The best to do is to collect the money from him and vote against him. I swear this guy is dumb after seeing the handwriting on the wall. Even a political novice knows that he is gonna lose. My question is why going to a war you are surely gonna lose if not foolishness? This is not bravery but stupidity. You just woke up one night and you thought you can buy or take over the party structure you dont have an idea of how it works.SMH!!! If I were him I have two options - either to quit and succumb to party pressure or join another political party and fight back. But going to the primary that will humiliate me and probably destroy my political career finally is nothing but suicide.
Are we sure Ambode does not have mental problem? Because I keep asking myself why he is doing this.Ambode definitely lack the mental capacity to be a commissioner not to talk of a governor. For those who are supporting him I am sorry if you are offended but I just have to express my thought. Honestly my own problem with him is performance and nothing else. I dont care if he is arrogant or whatever as those people alleged. What is my business with party members not getting attention or money from him or Tinubu is not getting money or contract from him. In fact I will be happy to hear that he denies those useless party members access to our state pulse. His loyalty is not to them but to us the citizens of lagos. My problem is do a good job which he failed to do. I've been asking the same question since last year. Thew man is totally self destructive. |
