Sadly, his bigoted ways did not start with this particular issue so he can not discount this issue and ignore his past offensive, horrible and disgusting comments.
This apology though obviously forced by his employer and colleagues doesn't sound heartfelt or genuine since most of the offensive and bigoted remarks are still there on his FB page.
His employer is not too far from the same odious and bigoted pathways because they saw and enabled this disgusting character for years so they must also take their own portion of the blame.
Sadly, Vanguard as a news organization is a damaged brand with zero trusts and sense of objectivity and this bigot helped highlight what we all know about this damaged news organization and I don't see them recovering anytime soon. |

zombieHUNTER: Zombies are seriously enjoying the blood bath going on in the land....
Without blood shed they can't feed and will eventually die off.... So they will do anything to keep the status quo alive...
Joshua Dariye is from middle belt... He is obviously a sacrificial lamb to the caliphate... Who send am message... He should go and pay for his sins...
We want to see thieves like Oshiomole.. Rotimi Amaechi.. Deziani... Obasanjo... Jonathan... Sullivan chime... Babangida Aliyu... Etc getting bigger treatment.. thieves plenty
What of farouq lawan and femi otedola ...they both need to be in jail ... Cases plenty
Few months to elections... This fool in Aso rock is doing all possible best to give zombies something to cheer about... Well they have a public holiday declaration and the scapegoat Joshua So, we should just let him go and forget that a crime was committed just because of tribalism and where the man is from.? Sadly for you, you have zero moral rights or authority to opine on such issues because going by your mentality and in any kind of position to render justice, you will not do anything because of tribal and ethnic fixations. |

NOTE::
Achebe, however, saved some criticisms for his kinsmen. He criticised them for what he described as “hubris, overweening pride and thoughtlessness, which invite envy and hatred or even worse that can obsess the mind with material success and dispose it to all kinds of crude showiness.”
He added that “contemporary Igbo behavior(that) can offend by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness. Apart from the fact that the man peddled hatred and tribalism all his adult life straight into his grave, he littered his last book with the same hateful, angry, bigoted and tribal rubbish and after spewing his hateful rubbish, he defaulted to hypocrisy and contradictions when he admonished his people for doing the same thing he did just a few paragraphs before. This is basically what we see every day, they peddle hatred, bigotry, and tribalism while at the same time play victim and point fingers at other people. Very sad.. |

Politics › Why Nigerians Hate Igbos, By Chinua Achebe. by deomelo(op): 2:42am On Jun 12, 2018 |
1. Nigeria’s foremost novelist Chinua Achebe has claimed that Nigerians, especially of the Hausa/Fulani and the Yoruba stocks, do not like his Igbo ethnic group because of the southeast’s cultural advantage.
2. He traced the origin of “the national resentment of the Igbo” to its culture that “gave the Igbo man an unquestioned advantage over his compatriots in securing credentials for advancement in Nigerian colonial society.
3. He therefore described the Igbo, who are predominantly Catholic, as “fearing no god or man, was “custom-made to grasp the opportunities, such as they were, of the white man’s dispensations. And the Igbo did so with both hands.
4. He delved into history with his claim, asserting that the Igbo overcame the earlier Yoruba advantage within two decades earlier in the twentieth century.
5. Although the Yoruba had a huge historical and geographical head start, the Igbo wiped out their handicap in one fantastic burst of energy in the twenty years between 1930 and 1950.”
6. He narrated the earlier advantage of Yoruba as contingent on their location on the coastline, but once the missionaries crossed the Niger, the Igbo took advantage of the opportunity and overtook the Yoruba.
7. The increase was so exponential in such a short time that within three short decades the Igbos had closed the gap and quickly moved ahead as the group with the highest literacy rate, the highest standard of living, and the greatest of citizens with postsecondary education in Nigeria,” he contended.

kaycito: Always using Lagos as example, what happened to ekiti, Ibadan or even abeokuta, Lagos having highest VAT is logical and maybe you forget igbos contribute to this, if this country breaks up that Igbo contribution will be gone, don't push your luck, you have ports, you have everything, please restructure I'm begging you https://belcoinvestments.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/AutoZone-GiddingsTX.jpgYour exit will create new and better opportunities. And that's just the beginning..

You don'w own anything in Lagos, your C of C is a lease that is revocable by the state Government at any time.

LZAA: First of no igbo man is running to ondo, ekiti or osun so the yoruba "lands" term is DOA if u mean lagos which as a bro said earlier is a former capital then simply refund the crude oil money used to build it,kick out ijaws, hausas, middle beltans and other tribes and then run YOUR land? Think we both know the answer to that I just wonder why your ipob brothers are fighting and dying over silly eze titles in Ibadan and even Ondo state. You have village eze clowns in Osun state too. Btw, didn't the Deji of Akure banned your eze village people and closed your markets in Ondo state? This is the problem with you people, you people don't know poo about yourselves, you just open mouth and spew ignorance... |
