knowledgeable: Spot on. Great analysis. This is why in today's Nigeria, Yorubas lack philosophical and ideological grasp in understanding and analysing practical solutions to Nigeria myriads of problems, except few of them(mostly Christians) who are very vocal and loud with very few followers.
It is self evidence in today's Nigeria, that 100% of Yoruba population, do not like the killings going on in different parts of the country, but lack the real power to persuade the Fulani President(there supposedly equal political partners in the Nigerian project)to stop feeling indifference towards this killings from his kins men, but at the same time, will show 80% support to Arewa/fulani during elections, as a result of institutional conspiracy between them and hausa/fulani to politically hold the Igbo man down for ever. All these have brought upon 80% of their people a weak philosophical and ideological grasp to concrete and practical solutions to get Nigeria out of woods of underdevelopment, backwardness and so many other factors that have prevented Nigeria in becoming a modern transformed society of which them/hausa fulanis are suffering gravelly.
Yoruba support and the feeling of equal partnership with Hausa/fulani(atleast from Tinubu standpoint) is a blind one, and let me prove it to them with some few questions.
1. As equal partners with the Ariwa North, can the Yorubas get away with the killings of other Nigerians if they choose to say in lagos?.
2. If Ariwa North on their own, take a position that Biafrans can now go, can Yorubas who are more vocal against Biafra on their own fight Biafrans to stay with them?
If the answers to these questions are no, then Op analysis has a very weak logical and philosophical bearings to it. 1. ....but you keep running to the same North since day one to team up with them right? Is it because you have the philosophical and ideological grasp in understanding and analysing practical solutions to Nigeria myriads of problems? Nearly all your ibo states are PDP controlled and last I checked, the PDP is predominately a Northern party and they have once again zoned their presidential candidacy to the North, meaning you can not smell Aso Rock for the next 8 years. You are and have been and still in worse predicament since day one because of your association with the North, but you still prefer dinning with the North even though you've never benefited from such associations. 2. The SW is not interested in vain, emotional and sentimental alliances, it's always about strategic benefits and national influence which they are obviously getting in abundance as we speak, that's unlike the SE where everything is based strictly on tribalism, emotions, sentiments, lousy political strategy and constant need to play spoiler against the SW and end up getting nothing beyond self marginalization. 3. Yoruba are against biafra or preventing you from attaining your biafra? Is this the new lie and fallacious tales fabricated by you people ? Who cares? The fact is, you don't want any biafra, it's just the emotional tool you use to blackmail other people with because if you really want your biafra, you know what to do. Put up your referendum or keep quiet. It's even sad that you are admitting that your you future, your independence and freedom depends on powerful Yoruba people. You sound so helpless and defeated already. |

AfDB Scores Aregbesola High on Social Investment Programmes, Assures Osun of supportThe African Development Bank (AfDB) has lauded the Governor Rauf Aregbesola led administration in Osun for economically developing the state through the implementation of its people-oriented policies and programmes.
The AfDB scored Osun high on its social investment programmes, describing them as most laudable, impactful and commendable in the democratic history of the country.
The leadership of the AfDB led by its Country Director, Mr. Ebrima Faal, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the governor at Government House in Osogbo.
Faal commended the state’s Six-Point Integral Action Plan which he said is in line with the organisation’s objectives.
The AfDB Director commended the state government for being committed to human and capital development as manifested in the positive results the state has recorded in all its policies and programmes.
Faal noted that the organisation was aware of the tremendous achievements the state has recorded particularly in the areas of education, technical and vocational training as well as infrastructure development.
“We are here to commend the state government for being committed to human and capital development as we have seen the positive impacts made in the lives of the citizens.
“We have seen the wonderful works going on across the state, particularly the massive infrastructural development and the efforts the state is making to turn around the economic fortunes of the state.
“We are enthused to be here to express our commitment to support the state in some critical areas of interest in line with our primary objective to stimulate the economy of our people on the continent.
“As a way of contributing to the Nigeria’s economy particularly on the need to diversify her economy from crude-oil to sustainable industrialised and commercialised economy through the advancement of non-oil sectors for the benefit of all, we have deemed it fit to partner Osun government.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure that the Nigeria and Africa’ economy objectives are actualised through the required socio-economic support and collaboration.
“We have seen the tremendous physical and social infrastructural development that spreads around every nook and cranny of the state.
“We want to shift the direction a bit to ensure a holistic performance at supporting governments at various levels to improve on their economy”
He added, “Since assumption of duty in Nigeria, I have never been to any state; Osun is the first and this is because I have heard so much about this state and I needed to come and see things for myself.

“Another significant fact is that after a careful study of various government policies of Osun for its people, we have discovered that the Six-Point Integral Action Plans which the state is using as guide to move the state forward is completely in line with our own policies.”
While expressing the hope that the AfDB will fully support the state, the governor explained that the present administration in the state is not frivolous and is ready to make life better for the people of the state.

Total waste and a needless ego white elephant project that's of zero economic or employment benefit to the people and the state in general.
To make matters worse, the unemployment rate in this state is 36%, the 2nd highest in Nigeria after Rivers, the second richest and poorly managed state in Nigeria with the highest unemployment rate @ 41.82%.
This could have built many skill acquisition centers, schools and ICT hubs to give their teaming unemployment youths needed skills to compete with especially in a state with little or no skilled manpower. In fact, this same state is now forcing employers and investors to hire and train their people before they are allowed to invest and create jobs.

Ariaria market gets power generation, distribution licences
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Tuesday announced the approval of a licence to operate an independent power plant in Ariaria market.
Ariaria Market, known as ‘China of Africa’, is a major market, not only in the South-eastern part of Nigeria, but also in the West African sub-region.
An open-air market, without solid structures, it is reputed to be a home for wears, leather works, among others.
In a statement sent to PREMIUM TIMES on Tuesday in Abuja, the electricity sector regulator said the licence was to enable Ariaria Market Independent Power Plant Limited generate 9.5 megawatts (MWs) embedded electricity for the market.
Similarly, an Independent Electricity Distribution Licence was also issued to Ariaria Independent Energy Distribution Network Limited to handle the distribution of the generated power within the market.
The NERC statement signed by its spokesperson, Vivian Mbonu, said the licenses were granted pursuant to ”overriding public interest”.
Mrs Mbonu said the licences were granted in line with Section 71(6) of the Electric Power Sector Reform (EPSR) Act 2005 “after careful consideration of the applications in public interest”.
She said the operation of the embedded power system within the market area would promote access to common goods, as well as encourage commercialisation and industrialisation in the area.

GMBuhari: And to say this project is in the heart of Lagos , who will you thank more ??
Nigeria will reduce subsidy payment to marketers once the refinery is complete, Subsidy payment is why some maniacs from the past did not revive or build any refineries, they knew they'd get commissions from the fraudulent deals in their shell accounts
I just wish Nigeria is rich enough to build another refinery during Buhari's administration , this refinery did not take 5 years and it'll be complete by 2019 Fashola, son of the soil who lobbied Dangote and wrestled the single largest refinery in the world away from Ondo state. |

Ghana, others to import fuel from Dangote’s refinery
Ahead of the completion of the Dangote Oil Refinery, petroleum importing African nations and bulk oil distributors based in Ghana have expressed eagerness to patronise the Nigerian plant when production starts.
The oil buyers said arrangements had been put in place to import petroleum products from the world’s largest single-train refinery, situated in Lekki, Lagos State and owned by the foremost industrialist, Aliko Dangote.
Hints of the eager expectation and hopes on the Dangote Refinery were revealed at this year’s Ghanaian International Petroleum Conference (Ghipcon 2018), which held in Accra, Ghana, according to a statement by the Dangote Group on Monday.
Participants at the conference as well as oil distributors and marketers from various countries were eager to know how they could key in for supplies from the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery, according to the statement.
The Ghanaian government expressed the view that dealing with Dangote refinery for petroleum import would be a better business for African nations than depending on the international market for the supply of refined products, adding that “we will rather purchase from the Dangote Refinery due to the proximity of the refinery to Ghana and other neighbours.”
President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, who was represented by Vice President Mahamud Bawumia, said African nations were anxiously waiting for the Dangote Refinery.
During their visit to the Dangote oil exhibition stand, the Ghanaian Vice President and Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko, were amazed at the size of the project and expressed satisfaction with the pace of work being done at the refinery as explained to them by Mr. Babajide Soyode, the Technical Adviser to the President of Dangote Group on Refinery and Petrochemical Matters, who led the Dangote Refinery team to the conference.
