Politics › Re: Is LASTMA Taking Over The Role Of Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC)? by deomelo: 2:36pm On May 30, 2019
It is not their job, just helping out. in Nigeria, taking personal responsibility is one thing we don't like to do. We complain and blamer the government for everything under the sun, we we hardly lift a finger or take personal responsibility or do the little things to make a difference.

Kudos to the officers.

Politics › Re: Enugu State govt/igbos: Its Time To Fix This Airport! by deomelo: 3:02am On May 30, 2019
MetaPhysical:
We've gone over this issue here before.

Location of airport is not based on federal character. When you build airport it has to generate income and be profitable. It also has to be sustainable.

SE is not gaining population. More people migrate out than are coming in so your net migration is a negative. Due to high rate of crime your higher class population...your elites who could afford air transportation on regular basis and encourage traffic in and out of the airport...are permanent migrants and dont even live in SE, their trip is seasonal. Theyd rather fly in and out of Lagos or Abuja or Kaduna every week for one business or the other than build a pattern of regular flights to Enugu and risk becoming target of kidnappers looking for ransom money.

Your low class ride bus to and fro, and even at that...buses going out run at full capacity whereas on their return trips their seats are hardly occupied.

So who is going to use Enugu Airport? How is it going to generate income if traffic is light?

You all think im joking when i say SE is deficient.
Well said.

It's a classic case of need, supply, demand and pure economics, but as usual, they sweep everything under tribalism and other rubbish.

Whats PMB's business with inconsequential, defeated and irrelevant losers?

These clowns and their anti-Nigerian ipobs love to overestimate their worthless importance in Nigeria.

9. Overhead bridge at Secretariat now opened and named Freedom Bridge.
Naming pedestrian bridge is a salient point and credible agenda too?

Salient points from inaugural speech of His Excellence Engnr Seyi Makinde

1. N3000 school fees abolished.

2. At least 10% of our budget goes into education.

3. Donates his entire salary as Governor to Teachers Pension Fund.

4. To reposition LAUTECH and all other tertiary institutions.

5. People living with disabilities to get a Commission that deals with their matters.

6. Primary health care to be made more accessible and Health Insurance Scheme.

7. Upgrade and renovation of health centres

8. Sincere conversation to discuss the best thing to do on the minimum wage.

9. Overhead bridge at Secretariat now opened and named Freedom Bridge.
Typical shallow and incompetent PDP move. No grand vision, no inspiring ideas or any credible goal, just the same superficial platitudes.

Failed already.
Education › Re: Why Does Onitsha Have No Universities Or Polytechnics? by deomelo: 4:25am On May 29, 2019

@Rossikk

Onitsha is a small town in Anambra state. Going by your assertion, Nnewi, Lekki, Festac and Idumota should have there own universities and polytechnics too.

Moreover, The agitation for Biafra wasn't borne out of ignorance as you asserted, The person that started the struggle have an intimidating profile that you can only imagine in your life time, at the age of 30, he was a lieutenant colonel of Nigerian Army and at the age of 33 he was governor of eastern region, in 1967 when he was 34, He started the biggest movement in Africa and you sitting behind a keyboard thinks this man was ignorant? huh

I am against secession but let's get the records right.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/C._Odumegwu_Ojukwu

Nnewi is a city, Onitsha is a city, but Lekki and Festac are not cities, they are just neighbourhoods.

Politics › Re: Full Text Of Governor Ambode’s Farewell Address To Lagosians by deomelo: 12:51am On May 29, 2019
wunmi590:
You are really on point.

I am a lagocian and a PDP fan, but truth be told, this guy really meant well for lagos as a whole.

Lagos state would miss him, he has my vote, and I will always vote for him anytime anyday.
You obviously don't know Lagos state, about Lagosians their expectations in Lagos state. Lagosians thought they left behind mediocrity, refuse, garbage, stench, traffic gridlock and all the things Fashola put a lid on, but Ambode's incompetence, lack of focus and pettiness returned Lagos state to pre 1999 Lagos state.

Ambode was given expo aka Lagos state masterplan and the largest IGR and state budget in the history of Nigeria to work with, but he dumped the expo and limited himself to roadside painting, Moorpark, pedestrian bridge.

Where are the schools

Where are the power plants?

Where are the waterworks?

Where are the housing estates?

Where are the hospitals?

Where are the maternity centres

Why are there too many abandoned projects in Lagos state?

Why are the roads full of potholes, wrecked and damaged and not fixed?

Why is Lagos all of a sudden dirty and buried under garbage?

Do you ever wonder why Lagoosians didn't raise a finger to save Ambode's job? ...because Ambode failed Lagosians.

Rubbish

What happened to building good hospital and equipping it properly?

What happened to putting good security infrastructure in place to curb crime like putting cctv cameras in strategic locations in lagos and responsive emergency services incase of robbery, etc.?

Renovate the fucking government schools and make sure their curriculums are up to date!

What about renovating the terrible state of ikoyi prisons and at least try to make it more human friendly?

Mr ambode you are just like every other politician.
You haven't done shit.
Fashola built schools, housing estates, waterworks, hospitals, powerplants, skill acquisition centres, drivers institutes, maternity centres, clinics, state institutions like courts, LAWMA and so on in his first term, but Ambode limited himself to pedestrian bridge, flyover, roadside layby and motor park.

What a waste of time, waste of resources and opportunity.

When lack of productivity, laziness and incompetent are synonymous with your village governors, it's easy to understand why a useless and underachieving governor like Ambode looks like a champion.

...but the fact that Lagosians did not lift a finger to save his job says a lot.

This is also Fashola's project, but I'm glad Ambode did not abandon it like he did all the projects Fashola left behind.

It's really sad that a thread about the governor of Lagos state with the largest state IGR, largest state budget in Nigeria did not occupy half a page on NL.

How sad.

You'll soon inundate the whole place with your copies of government propaganda photos. I do not have any personal issue with you, but stop being mischievous and allow others to carry on. Osun State is still a very rural, backwater state. From Oshogbo to Ilesha; Ede to Iwo; Ile-Ife to Ode-Omu, Okuku etc. the state is largely rustic and sleepy.

I know Osun very well - trust me I do. Stop exalting mediocrity; quit being psyched up about these inanities.

Nothing happened.?

1. PMB is a second term president, but Saraki is a loser, his own people in Kwara kicked him to the curb.

2. Dogara is also a loser, he's nothing but a one-term loser, he's no longer the Speaker of the house, he's a common and irrelevant rep who can no longer conspire with clowns like Saraki to sabotage Nigeria.

They’re bunch of thieves. Why holding budget for 7 good months? Yet some dumbee above me are saying trash! I’m sure one of their reason for holding the national budget was to frustrate Nigerians so they won’t vote him. Same thing was done to Lagos allocations some years ago. stop defending your failed Aregbese here. you can see it clearly how ebonyi State governor is developing. this is first term in power. and if you see it vividly, he has built alot of infrastructures project that will be internally generated to the state government. up till today, ebonyi state governor is still paying up the workers salaries and its pensioners unlike clueless Aregbese that didn't pay up 15 months salaries before leaving the government to his stooge. well we hope in God that the needful will be done in the supreme court. it will take 30 years for the loan Aregbese incured for the state to be paid.
