Alcatraz005: Even though I have made jest of and hated the Igbos, I really feel sorry for what they have been through. With the proscription of Ipob by Nigeria and the killings in Abia, it is clear the igbo have been defeated a second time. This is a very dangerous trend as it means the Igbos have been conquered once more.
The solution for the igbo now is to forget about money ( this is very important) and go back in droves to the east and demand good governance from the very same leaders who have sided with your enemies after the igbo people were disgraced. In essence, igbos must go back to the east and develop the place. It is disgraceful that a major ethnic group has made it a practice to flee their homeland in droves to other parts of Nigeria just to survive. It is baffling and there must be a cause for this anomaly. If this is not done, igbos would continue to be 2nd class citizens in Nigeria.
Nobody would respect a leeching ethnic group in Nigeria (as most Nigerians don't have respect for the igbo). I used to make fun of the Igbo but I now pity them as they seem to have been trounced all round. Another point is that the igbo should please drop empty pride and acknowledge that they have a problem that has to be fixed. Nothing can be achieved if the "think home" movement fails.
I am surprised that I now pity a tribe I love to hate.
There is no other solution. Selah.
This is where you get it wrong even though this is what normal people do.
1. Ibo people by nature are less concerned about poor leadership and lack of development in their towns and villages since their collective mentality dictates that negative happenings in their own immediate environment is to always blame people outside their borders.
2. Their leaders know how to capitalize on their people's hatred and disaffection for other Nigerians by pointing fingers and telling them that other people are responsible for lack of development in their states when in fact their leaders are responsible for them at the local level and their leaders at the national level are responsible for lack of federal projects in their states.
3. The average Ibo especially here on NL know more about Osun state/Aregbeshola than they know about their own state, even the way they focus so much on Osun state and Aregbeshola, you'd think Aregbeshola is their governor, but sadly for them, Aregbe delivered more in Osun state than their own 5 governors combined.
4. They want to know what is going on in Oyo state, Osun state, Kaduna and also what they are doing with their money, but never interested in what their own states and what their own leaders are doing with their own taxes and allocations.
5. When you hate other people and spend more time worrying about other people than you spend on yourself, you can not figure out what's wrong with you or do whatever that's necessary to help yourself.
6. The average Ibo folks are content with their usual warped, delusional and irrational understanding that they own everything in other parts of Nigeria so they don't have to worry about their own dead and unproductive towns and villages.
Honestly speaking, they need societal and communal re-orientation, they need mental re-programming per how to co-exist and deal with other Nigerians and also how to demand better from their so far vision-less and incompetent leaders.
Ikology: OK. You are right on the guy, but Sarrki and Omenka, it's a no. They are far from being Patriots. I don't know if you stay in southeast, do you think IPOB have been constituting a terror to the civilian populace? Is it not obvious the Defense headquarters is hasty to classify IPOB as terrorist organization? If the soldiers never went to Nnamdi Kanu 's house there won't have been any confrontation. Finally I have been against IPOB and their unnecessary rallies, their militant online approach to differing opinions, however the Nigeria Army was wrong in their operation.
Nothing hasty about classifying IPOB as a terrorist group and terrorist threat.
When you in public and openly asserted and promised to go to Abuja the seat of government to be-head or cut off the president's head and bring it back to your village while people share you on to do just that, then you are a security threat.
Beheading people is what terrorists like ISIS and Boiko Haram do so why shouldn't we take this lunatic seriously.
When you set up illegal para military organization with uniforms and insignia, you are a national security threat.
Proclaiming violent demise and destruction of Nigeria, a sovereign country, you are a terrorist and national security threat.
And this is on top of pending cases and charges against him and the fact that he violated his bail conditions from top to bottom.
Peaceful people don't do any of the above, this is what terrorists do.
nwaanambra1: I watched in utter amazement and shock as the Nigerian government may have just created a terrorist organization - the kind of which will leave the world in shock.
I watched as the same scenario that created bokoharam in the north was brazenly being repeated in the south-east.
Why must it always be about force!
why does the Nigerian Politicians still believe that military might is the only solution.
i keep asking myself - is this a calculated attempt to destabilize the south east?
did the federal government in collaboration with south-eastern politician just created a monster in the southeast so as to destabilize igbo land?
why is it so hard for Nigeria to learn from history? i mean lets ask ourselves this question - after killing Yusuf did it stop boko haram? NO! rather it created a giant monster that hunted us and still hunt us till today despite press blanket on their activities!
what made Nigerian government believe that killing nnamdi kanu and his groups will silence them?
the murder of hundreds of unarmed ipobs by this irrational government and its political minions in the east may have just made ipob a monster that will destroy the fabrics of this nation.
i saw as most people were happy and jubilation on social media that the military has put an end to ipob and sadly it reminded me of similar scenario in 2009 when bokoharam leaders were massacred in cold blood. that error gave the Nigerian nation a headache which still plague us till today.
i pray this ipob error wont plague us in years to come.
fact is - people are not happy with the sad developments in southeast - i mean the people of southeast. more videos will emerge in days to come showing the atrocities committed by the Nigerian government against ipob - there will be hard feelings against the Nigerian government and its political minions in the east. there will be sympathetic non-violent civil unrest - in fact, PEOPLE MAY LIKELY STAY AWAY FROM ELECTION IN ANAMBRA STATE JUST TO SHOW SOLIDARITY WITH IPOB.
in days to come, there will be massive protests worldwide against the federal government of Nigeria, and there will be a massive renewed call for the actualization of BIAFRA. THE SAD THING IS, GREAT MANY OF US WHO NEVER SUPPORTED NNAMDI KANU AND HIS WAYS OF AGITATION WILL NOW JOIN IN THE CALL FOR A SOVEREIGN STATE OF BIAFRA - ANOTHER SAD FACT IS, THIS BRAZEN DAYLIGHT GENOCIDE IN ABIA STATE MAY HAVE JUST MADE BIAFRA A REALITY IN NO DISTANT TIME.
For those who may not know this, the igbos may seem disunited, but that disunity is only superficial - deep inside, we love and see ourselves as brothers. we strongly believe that what touches the eyes - equally touches the nose that is why they both shares in each others grieve. that genocidal action in Abia state, touched the entire south eastern states and the Igbo nation in general.
this brazen murder just changed the game - Biafran agitation is no longer 'Nnamdi Kanu thing' - it just went beyond Kanu. Many of us on the sideline will join in the pursuit of a sovereign Biafran nation - and it will be achieved come rain come shine.
THIS TIME WE WILL STRATEGIES. IT WILL NO LONGER BE A TOUT THING. WE WILL FOLLOW IT IN MORE ADVANCED WAYS. BUT IT WILL SURELY COME.
My prayers for now - is that the aggrieved ipob youths wont think of taking up arms.
As for our politicians, hmmm, no comment for now.
thou i don't really care what anybody here thinks, but it will be wise to check my comments and topic history to know where am coming from.
FemiFimile: It has no legal foundation or roots, just a comment and not binding.
Let them pass law to ban IPOB.
It is unconstitutional to do so, until IPOB start killing Nigerians which they have so far not done.
If u ban IPOB, who will ban Islamic State and Boko Haram?
That statement is an illegality in itself as the Governor Forum has no constitutional power to ban freedom of association, freedom of speech and Right to assemble. These are core values enshrined in the Nigeria constitution. Even the Law Courts said IPOB was not an Unlawful organisation.
IPOB has a right to self determination within the confines of law as enshrined in the United Nation Declaration of Human Rights.
Y have dey not jail Nnamdi Kanu, if he and IPOB were so illegal.
This is wat my legal studies tell me.(just saying so dont attack me, i dont support IPOB)
Just like ipobian illiterates, no sense, just disjointed rubbish..
PointB: lol So why was it difficult to prosecute him? I bet you have no idea what you are yapping about. Criminal solicitation my ar/se.
1. Last I checked, he was arrested and locked up, he's out on bail which he's violated so cure your own ignorance first.
2. Terrorist/rism classification is the ground work and beginning of his eventual arrest and long jail term and this is on top of his previous charges. It's called due process so relax, your hero is heading back to jail for good, it's just a matter of time.
StarOfDavid: Dont mind them, they don't know IPOB is registered under United Nations and is registered also in over 100 countries in the world with headquarters in Germany and a consulate in India, Spain and Britain.
Again the Nigerian illiterate government will have to tell that to UN that they are a terrorist group..I just hate this government with passion, they too desperate for my likening.
zoba88: ONGOING: SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS FORUM SECURITY MEETING
Security Meeting of South East Governors, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu,GOC of 82 Division, elders and other Security Chiefs under the leadership of the Chairman of South East Governors Forum, Engr. Dr. David Nweze Umahi is ongping at Enugu State Government House, Enugu.
The Chairman of the South East Governors Forum will brief the press after the meeting soon.
Flets: Someone should tell the clueless Nigerian Military that their damage control is useless.
It is known world over that IPOB have been a non-violent group since inception Its widely known that IPOB has yet to kill any human since inception despite the latest provocation Its stupidity for the Nigerian army to reference activities post invasion of a hitherto peaceful region as acts of violence Can the Nigerian clearly outline their reason for rolling tanks into peaceful neighborhoods that have not recorded violence in decades?
We know who the violent ones are who have massacred humans from the middle belt down to the delta in the name of Fulani herdsmen. this government is yet to name these group of killers as terrorist but quick to name a group that has never hurt anyone as a terrorist group. We know who the subtle sponsors of bokoharam are as well.
We might not retaliate but we are no fools and we wont forget and we will make sure our children do not forget as well.
Kanu just a few days ago in one of his rallies promised to travel to Abuja to cut off Buhari's/The president's head and there are countless videos and recordings of his speeches and utterances promising to burn Nigeria to thew ground.
Is he going to cut off the president's head peacefully and also take his head back to his village peacefully?
Terrorist threat and public proclamation to kill or harm any Nigerian is a criminal offence.
Keep the lies and unintelligent ipobic tales to yourself.
kettykin: i support you you that restrutured Nigeria might be better off than Biafra outright , but i want to point out though that IPOB have always insisted on non violence, i also understand that ipob does not carry weapons , how a call for refrendum is now being interpreted as a call or war by the president and Arewa youths is basically a problem of crass iliteracy , calls for refernedum is going on in several countries in europe like spain and britain yet not a sinlg loss of life or military operation going on.
infact the Buhari once advocated the call for the break up of israel and morroco only for him to cry blue murder when ipob called for a similar thing in Nigeria , this double face of Buhari is at the heart of what is troubling Nigeria now. The problem of Nigeria right now is bareface hypocrisy of Buhari and the Nigerian military
Stop lying to yourself, Kanu just a few days ago in one of his rallies promised to travel to Abuja to cut off Buhari's/The president's head and there are countless videos and recordings of his speeches and utterances promising to burn Nigeria to thew ground.
Keep thew lies and unintelligent ipobic tales to yourself.
EponOjuku: You must be a dropout of Epon Ojuku Memorial Grammar School, Ozubulu.
When the army was bombing targets in Ikorodu, your flatheaded brothers living in your potopoto republic were here crying on Nairaland that the army was killing innocent people in Lagos.
maclatunji: This is true and secondly you did not have citizens claiming Ikorodu is not part of Nigeria.
Most of these IPOB supporters are just uninformed, uneducated and largely unintelligent. They don't understand the different concepts that apply to citizens and countries.
Sadly, there are no sane, rational and intelligent adult in iboland and the fact that their youths are grossly ignorant, unintelligent and mentally lazy spells doom for that region and their so called future biafra.
OGO32: He mentioned a few place in the country were violence once erupted one time or the other and no operation any Animal is dancing, well at first i was reasoning with him, but then i realized separatist is different from terrorism.
Illiterate ipob, there was military operation AWATSE in Ikorodu and they used air force Jets and deployed real bombs which they are yet to do in your village and fear don catch you already.
Btw, we welcomed Operation Awatse in Ikodoru because we don't support criminality and lawlessness, unlike ipobs and other SE criminal elements.
ChimaAgbalajob: Mods, Why are you allowing nairaland to be used to spread falsehood capable of raising hell in Nigeria? You should ban the Op and lock this thread.
Even real video we dey watch with our korokoro eyes be fake?
When you post and litter NL with your fake and propaganda ipob trash nko?
Odingo1: The genocide that Yorubas are fueling will backfire then they will start denying having hand in it,Yorubas an ethinic group cannot be exterminated in this world,Hitler tried it on the jews and he felled. If Hausas kill Igbos in the North, yorubas will start shouting that Igbos dont respect their host that they deserve to die,if Igbo kill hausa in the east Yorubas will start lamenting that Hausas in the North should retaliate in the north and kill Igbos back and when they do that then that Igbos should not shout genocide because they started it first,God is not man, he watches all of us, Igbos are not wanted in Nigeria, they should be allowed to have their own country
Wetin Yoruba people get to do with your madness.?
Must Yoruba people always be your shoulder to cry on?
mypains: Go fork yourself you miserable piece of sh!t. Do I blame you? If not for the way Nnamdi Kanu decide to handle things, where will you have the effrontery to talk like this and support injustice of people.
They killed people in Benue, Southern Kaduna and other parts of the country... North once were military men sent to to protect lives there.
I don't blame you at all, continue supporting biased justice and one day, it will be the turn of your own people too.
Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has finally lifted the curfew on two Local Government Areas in the Southern part of the State.
The two Local Government Areas are Jema’a and Kaura.
The curfew in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area was earlier suspended.
This is coming barely two weeks after the Nigerian Army launched of military operation code-named ‘Harbin Kunama II,’ to flush out criminal elements in Southern Kaduna
The military wasn't sent to Sothern Kaduna according to who? According to the radio ipob you people get your hate and bitter news from right?
I don't know why you hate mongering, bitter, angry and bigoted ipobs are so ignorant and utterly daft.
I'm not even asking or begging you to stop killing northerners in your ibo villages, Hausa people know how to respond, they know how to deal with you and it won't be the first time.
