PoliticsRe: State Police Biggest Security Reform In Decades — Metuh by DeOTR: 7:55pm On Jun 25
nairalanda1:
Laughing in state police and reform.

Nigeria that cannot fund federal police go fund state police?

Nigeria where federal police runs from bandits and thugs, go produce state police that won't run

Still lauhging in state police.

You Nigerians do not know what is really wrong with your country, na to shout abuse up and down and defend politicans and tribe you dey know.
Our federal police are not riding lambos either, so what's your point?
The joy of this is that, states that can afford it will establish it. Nobody should hold others ransom because of ulterior motives of conquests.

Can't EFCC specifically state the "uunlawful" activities? We all know that the activities will involve kidnapping and ransom taking. Anyway, I'm sure FG cum EFCC is just playing to the gallery because of the statement issued by the US. They will soon free this man and you will not hear pim again.
The man has been in and out of detention for the past 3 years now. It's not the US. You people should work on your inferiority complex abeg.

Kingpele:
State police is good and it should have clauses that most protect citizens from the governors ...however the rare of killings in this country is too much
State policing has been in the public debate since before Obi became a governor Oga. Just like the cry for restructuring, this didn't start in 2025.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Sends State Police Bill To Senate by DeOTR: 10:25pm On Jun 23
victoryenergy:
I prefer to pay tax for my security, than to pay Ransome to kidnappers...
Don't mind him. I don't think any state would be forced to adopt state policing. Any state that's OK with the status quo should leave state policing to those who mean business. We know the fear behind state policing and those against him. It's coming from those hellbent on conquering every inch of the country by the sword. They'll need to wipe 200 million people before they can dream of that. State policing, rightly implemented, will cure a lot of madness quickly.
CareerRe: Why Do Companies Post Vacancies When The Posts Have Been Filled? by DeOTR: 1:35pm On Jun 23
AngelSlay:
I understand the frustration, and unfortunately, many job seekers can relate to this experience. 💔

Applying to hundreds of jobs, tailoring CVs, writing cover letters, and getting little or no response can be mentally exhausting. The silence often feels worse than a rejection because you're left wondering what happened.

That said, not every job posting is fake or already filled. Sometimes recruiters receive thousands of applications within hours, and many qualified candidates never get a response simply because of the volume.

The reality is that job boards alone are rarely enough in today's market. Networking, referrals, direct outreach, personal branding, internships, volunteering, and building relevant skills have become just as important as submitting applications.

To everyone currently job hunting: please don't tie your worth to the number of rejections or unanswered applications. A delayed opportunity is not a reflection of your value.

And if you're feeling overwhelmed, please talk to someone. No job is worth your life. ❤️

Let's keep supporting one another and sharing opportunities, strategies, and success stories. Your breakthrough may be closer than you think. 🙏🏽
REFERRALS will land you jobs thousands of people have applied for and many are currently been actively interviewed, but you have to know the right people first.
In Nigeria of today, you might want to forget about getting a good job without the right connection, worse if the job is just a regular position that many hands are available to fill.
PoliticsRe: Warning: Sunday Igboho's Actions May Fuel Ethnic And Religious Tensions by DeOTR: 9:38am On Jun 22
AMINDA:
Okay o. So Tinubu is now legalising a militia from his own tribe that is actively promoting pogrom against another ethnic group right? Is this any different from what Nnamdi Kanu did that made Tinubu send him to prison? Continue. We know all these are just to destabilise Seyi Makinde's hold on the state and shore up support for Tinubu that is fast dwindling, even in his base.

Say whatever makes you sleep at night. Any attempt at terrorism will be met with more brutal revenge. No be only get craze

enemyofprogress:
Warning: Sunday Igboho's Actions May Fuel Ethnic and Religious Tensions

Nigeria's strength has always rested on its diversity. From the Hausa-Fulani in the North to the Yoruba in the South-West and the Igbo in the South-East, the country is home to hundreds of ethnic groups that have coexisted despite numerous challenges. However, recent developments and inflammatory statements by some ethnic agitators like Sunday Igboho have raised concerns among observers who fear that such rhetoric could deepen divisions and threaten national unity.

Analysts warn that when influential figures repeatedly single out Fulani ethnic group for criticism, threats, or blame, the consequences can be dangerous. Such narratives have the potential to fuel mistrust, provoke reprisals, and create an atmosphere of fear among ordinary citizens who have no connection to criminal activities.

Many Nigerians argue that criminality is not exclusive to any ethnic group. Across the country, individuals from different backgrounds have been implicated in kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, cybercrime, and other offences. Consequently, security challenges should be addressed through law enforcement and justice mechanisms rather than ethnic profiling or collective condemnation.

Observers also urge government authorities and security agencies to remain vigilant and address emerging tensions before they spiral out of control. According to them, preventing violence is far less costly than managing its aftermath.

As Nigeria continues its journey toward nation-building, many believe that unity, tolerance, and mutual respect remain indispensable. The country can only progress when citizens judge individuals by their actions rather than their ethnic identities. In a nation of diverse cultures and traditions, preserving peace must remain a collective responsibility.

What's more likely to trigger ethnic war than a particular tribe invading every nook and crany of the country and kidnapping people for ransom?
So that's not enough reason for you, but the reaction to the problem is your issue? Why don't you talk about the cause and let's see if the effects will still be an issue?

So because he is a wanted terrorist now dead his family should suffer for his misdeed . I didn't know crime is now genetically transferrable, they should kukuma arrest all his friends and even the bank that he initiated the transfer from because they offered their platform and automatically become accessory to the crime
They are accomplices. If your family member is a wanted terrorist and you still get in touch with them and receive money from the proceeds of his criminal activity, you're also a criminal. Ignorance is no excuse in law

Do you know if he told her he was into import and export business and which mother would want to send her child to jail, it is bad enough she has to endure his death ... His death is enough, he is the criminal, he has paid the price for his crime.
The guy is a wanted terrorist. Be reasonable please.

The town is very notorious for snake invasion particularly the viper species. They are everywhere in Kaltungo
It's a myth. I served here and I never saw snakes more than once during my stay and the one time was on a path in the evening, which we all know could be the case anywhere in the country.
Even when we climbed the kilang hill, we didn't see a single snake.
I'm not saying there are no snakes there, but I don't think it's more than anywhere else in the country.

Well service has improved

Back in the day, one could not call MTN with airtel line, one could not call NITEL fixed line or CDMA lines, one could not even have home internet...and when it first came it was GPRS in 2005, when some countries already had 3g , and so forth. Also, phone services did not exist in many rural areas as at 2003, now it does.

It's getting better. The only problem is power supply.
Well, we are now in 2026, and from my honest observation, my service is actually getting worse from my own experience. When I moved to my current location 4 years ago, I could still work from home even though I might experience some hiccups once in a while. I'm a software engineer, and I'm working on a dev server located in the US, so it's usually very slow and requires strong signal. This is 2026 and it's practically impossible to work from home as I used to even though my data bill is more than 4x what I used to spend when I came here.

Do you think that if a certain David Umahi, Uzodinma, Uzor Kalu, Okorocha, Ike Ekweremadu etc. come out for the presidency that the Igbos will give them the support that they gave Peter Obi?

I know that apc will field one of them in 2039 or later, then you'd understand how an average Igbo person thinks.
Maybe there's something else they're not telling us about Obi then, but it can not be that he's the most competent

It's only in Nigeria that regulators are on the payroll of the regulated. If not, why should a so-called regulator by setting price floor instead of price ceiling? Who are they protecting? The consumers or the producers? I don't really understand.
