WizardOfNG: Absolutely bro !!! I am not even an economist yet I am progressive enough and genuinely desirous of a Nigeria that will be as great as the many nations I have had the privilege to experience first-hand, to the extent I have read and researched extensively to gain knowledge that will allow me understand the problem and then discern the obvious solutions.
Solutions would always become apparent, as would always be the case, if one fully understands the cause of the problem to begin with.
This knowledge make me confident I can stand before any expert, because the issue to be discussed is not Rocket Science anyway, and make a coherent case for why subsidies in the petrol, education, electricity currency and even religious tourism sectors etal are directly detrimental to the growth and development of Nigeria.
The subsidies for fuel and the Naira, in particular, are glorified and self-destructive scams a rapacious and ruthless gang of opportunists wish to keep using thereby forever retrenching an ultra-promising and blessed nation to the level of Somalia while they keep swimming in billions they and their family cannot exhaust in 10 lifetimes.
Subsidy breeds corruption and for a country like Nigeria, we should not be mentioned in the same sentence with subsidy. I mean, isn't that what reduced us to what we are currently?
WizardOfNG: Of course it is working. You just don't have the intellect to appreciate the results targeted and achievements gained already. All your time is spent looking for ways to denigrate Tinubu and all his reforms.
Floating the Naira simply showed the real value and worth of our currency without subsidy.
Same as a woman with a huge tummy can look like figure 8 when wearing a girdle. Of course minus the girdle, na another story.
Floating the Naira presents it's true worth , as a repository of monetary value, against other currencies meaning we get to confront the fact we have a currency of poor value because we have a very poor economy.
We can/must then committ to working from the ground up to build our economy, through diversifying it away from reliance alone on oil as an example, to improve it which will then consequently and automatically strenghten the Naira organically. The better our economy, the greater the strenght of the Naira which is what we want and need as a nation.
It is how the best economies of the world gained strong and optimally convertible currency while we want to fake it as we also faked education subsidising it to be cheap, thus removing the quality component, only for us to be condemned to producing "graduate" civil Engineers who can never handle projects like third mainland or even the link roads commission by Wike and Tinubu today in Abuja.
All.this brings us back to the woman wearing the girdle. Is it not best, for her own health, confidence and optimal fitness she gets rid of the girdle and gain a genuinely flat stomach through diet and exercise routine rather than using deception to fake the stomach and figure she truly desired?
Sure dieting and exercising will be hard work, as Naira floatation is for Nigeria and Nigerians is also, but the girdle has to go and the sacrifice and hard work to gain a flat stomach must begin.
There is no way to remove the girdle gradually same as there is no to float the Naira gradually as the untelligent petty trader masquerading as a leader, I.e Obi, is foolishly suggesting.
He really should learn to remain silent.
Only a braindead will have problems with this explanation. Like Sanusi rightly said, Nigeria have been living a fake life.
Oga, you misspelled it. Why don't you write your username like this: ˈī(-ə)rnfāsman since you now want to be writing in archaic letters. The only daemon we know in 2025 is in computing.

These are Buhari's projects. Buhari awarded and fully fund those projects before he left.
So Buhari decided to award a projects towards the end of his tenure but did nothing for 8 years. Please don't cross a major road with this your sense abeg.
Genesis 1:26 26 And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and they shall rule over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heaven and over the animals and over all the earth and over all the creeping things that creep upon the earth."
Did you understand the bolded? Or do I draw you a picture?
OK, so what's the likeness of God, and how does that negates the fact that when we die, we know nothing (Eccl. 9:5)?
7 And the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and He breathed into his nostrils the soul of life, and man became a living soul.
Man is a living soul made up of body from the earth(ground) and God's spirit. The body is same image and likeness as the ground(that is earth) and the spirit is same image and likeness as God...
Do you understand? After man "dies" the body is buried and it becomes one with the earth. And the spirit returns to God and becomes one with it. If it has not completed his mission, it can be sent again.... 5 When I had not yet formed you in the womb, I knew you, and when you had not yet emerged from the womb, I had appointed you; a prophet to the nations I made you...... jerimah 1:5
Man became a living soul. Nothing in that verse suggests he was given a soul. That was exactly my point. He became a living soul when God breathe into a molded dust. Now, reverse this scenario and you have a lifeless body that would turn to dust. It's the breath of God that makes you a living soul, not that God gave you a soul. You're a living soul because God gave you life. You go back to what you were once you lost your breath (the life given by God). That life you have is not you and it's not yours. I think this is simple enough. Once you understand that death is a temporary state of non-existent, you'll understand the importance of the assignments Jesus came to perform.
Misterone: Can you use the adjective " Near a military base" to qualify a person or a place! If someone use the words " near a military base" with a noun, would the noun be a person or a place? Sokoto was attacked near a military base. Would Sokoto be a person or a place?
Don't mind them. They think we're fools. I think Ndume ignorantly misled the press that the former COAS was attacked. It would have been a different thing if he said a military base in Buratai was attacked, but he said Buratai was attacked in front of the military base. Only an idiot will think it wasn't the army chief. This is a case of hearing an half news and running to the press. We're not buying his rebuttal.
sonmvayina: That breath is the same image and likeness as God, you sure did miss that point. So it was God living within the body made of dust that brought it to life. When it leaves, it is still God.....no difference. It is pure and does not need to be saved from anything. If It has not completed it purpose that God intended, it can be sent again.....and again.
So, I don't really know what your j-man is came to do and is coming back again to do? If anything is demonic, it is the idea of God impregnating another man's wife.....
The breath is not the same and doesn't have the likeness of God. You're not making any sense. The breath just gave life, it doesn't translate to God possessing you Oga. Learn the difference.
Glimpsetv: A Nigerian man, visibly impressed by the systems in advanced countries, has shared a video demonstrating how school buses operate abroad, emphasizing how much they prioritize the safety and lives of children.
In the video, vehicles are seen stopping completely to allow children to safely exit a parked school bus and cross the road. No vehicle is permitted to move until every child has exited the bus and safely crossed.
The man pointed out the red blinking stop sign on the side of the school bus, explaining that as long as the red light is flashing, no vehicle is allowed to move—no matter what. He further stated that even if it's the police approaching, they must stop immediately once they see the red stop sign light of the school bus.
He concluded his video with the words, “God bless America, God bless Canada.”
The video quickly caught attention online and began going viral, sparking various reactions. Many Nigerians expressed their hopes for a time when the country would also reach such a level of civilization and concern for child safety.
Watch the trending video and share your thoughts in the comments!
In Nigeria, one idiot will zoom past the bus. We just like to point accusing fingers at the leaders. The people are worse. How do you explain a supposed normal human disregarding the red traffic light? People that don't like to obey simple rules. Always in a hurry to nowhere, but the president is the scapegoat they try to blame for everything. When I become the president, you'll be hanged for driving one way or beating the red light, thrown to jail for making calls while driving.
MrCGPA: See the Kind of Special and Rational Human Being Nigeria Missed because of Tribalism and religious extremism. They went and voted one man that promised Heaven and Earth and he never achieved even one. The National trending insecurity is subject to poverty and other factors. You will Hate Peter Obi but he is the best. History will ever remember that One external person Beat the Lagos Landlord in Lagos in 2023 Presidential Election.
Obi has not said anything new. It's common knowledge to everyone that has a brain. I don't even know why this is news
sonmvayina: He is not disproving that fact... See Ecclesiastics 12:7
He actually is. He said people do not really die. How does that align with the Bible verse you gave here? It's complete contradiction to it. Eccl 12:7 said we return to dust at death while spirit (breath of life) returns to the Giver. Oga, read your Bible very well. Dust and breath of God made man a living soul. The breath of God is not you. Once it leaves you, you're back to what you were before you had it, dust! How hard is that to understand? This teaching of a soul floating around after death is satanic and it was the first lie told to man by the devil. Jesus is our only hope of resurrection and the plan of salvation was already in motion immediately after the fall of man. You already rendered the second coming of Christ useless if you think people still live after death. Pray tell, what's the point of Christ second coming? To raise people who were never dead? Jeez!!
chieveboy: They mostly go to the next place they frequent in their dreams.
Dreaming is technically death. We as souls cannot die and cannot sleep.
To exist on a material world, we wear a material body which helps us make contact with physical things.
While this is useful, it is also a handicap. We cannot pass through walls, talk to one another from distances, see the future, etc.
We however do escape the body while it is sleeping. We wake up and call our visitation of diverse planets and dimensions " dreams".
Dreams or OBEs are prove that people do not really die.
This sounds hellish. We sleep and dream, but biblically we go back to dust at death, no knowledge or anything in grave, so this must be the same satanic teachings given to Eve, "thou shall surely not die". Oga! When you die, you die
Preciousgirl: What happens to a man after he dies From a biblical and spiritual perspective?
You return to the dust where you came from. It's that simple and biblical too. Not complicated. The difference with Christians is that we have hope of resurrection in Jesus Christ.
dmangodwin: You say Israel owns the land. Do you remember David and Goliath. David is an Israeli and Goliath is a Phillistine. Please where are the Phillistine today
Philistine and Palestine is not the same and they have totally different meaning. Goliath was definitely not an Arab. Do you understand now?
Botragelad: Right, for those who didn’t know, Mohammed Sinwar, brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar (the one Israel took out last year), kind of assumed his brother role. Turns out the IDF just nailed him too. Few days back, he was hit with a surgical strike in Khan Younis while he was hiding about under some Hamas command post, buried deep around the European Hospital.
I believe no one’s walking away from that. So, questions then. Why’s Hamas running a military HQ under a hospital? And why’s no one talking about about that or condemning Hamas? but the second Israel fires back, suddenly it’s all outrage and media rants? Not to mention the locals, always playing shield for these terrorists, then crying genocide when Israel has to dig them out.
Fortunately, more people are recognising Hamas’s propaganda and lies. The war continues. Am yisrael chai🇮🇱!
They're trying to blackmail Israel to submission, but I trust Israel not to care.
nairalanda1: We better stop grumbling and stop hoping for the perfect moment, and wake up.
Everytime on nairaland for years, na the same ';government is bad, government is corrupt, government is killing us' , but nothing about how we go change.
I'm not the type that points all the fingers at the government. I hate people who do that. All some of us need is just enabling environment to thrive. Most people that complain won't still thrive even if everything they complain about is taken care of. People in government have their own problems and many complaints are justified, but most people that criticize them do worse if given the same opportunity as the leader. That's why I said our problem in this country is our people. I've seen enough reasons to believe this.
