nairalanda1: Revenue from Nigeria's oil cannot feed a nation of 100 million, talkless of 200 million people...which is why APC is running us badly...they haven't diversifed our economy at all.
Saudi and UAE produce more oil than we do, and have about 40 million and 14 million people respectively. Saudi produces ten times as much oil as we do, which is why they can live the good life. Same for UAE...three times our own.
If we want good leader, we have to vote the leader that would make us use our resources to make stuff the world needs. That is what makes a first world, advanced nation. Not living large on oyel that can run out tomorrow.
It's the people that make a nation, not the leaders. In nation building, if the people are bad, the leaders will be as well. So who are the people that'll make the stuffs the world needs? We don't even have quality population that can invent and makes stuffs. Are you counting on people who don't do anything meaningful but want to get rich at all cost? The only thing the government can do is invest heavily on education, discourage or even ban the teachings of non-science subjects in our schools for the next 50 years and start a concerted effort add values to our exports instead of selling it raw.
Vendor127001: A lady has posted a video calling out a vendor for selling fake hair to her for one million, seven hundred thousand naira, she claims the hair does not match the type she paid for, the vendor also refused to issue refund to her as she complained bitter about it ! And she has to do makeup to say this? Oya, we've seen you. Next...
bionixs: some of the suburbs of those you mentioned are something else
It's the opposite in the US. You can't live in the suburban areas if you're not loaded. Na poor people dey live for places with high population per square mile over there.
Spursy: Look at the gigantic and humongous Rocks Behind these houses. What if one or two roll out from there? Is this not Risky? Personally, I can't sleep with both eyes closed in a house like this.
This is Risky.
Its dangerous.
Aside from the rock getting rolled out by windstorm and killing the occupants of the building, how about the reptiles that live there? That's a niche for snakes. I mean highly venomous snakes.
My only worry is our sneaky foes. Nothing less than a natural disaster can move those rocks.
southsouthking: Yeah just as we are seeing the results of his increased allocations in Imo, Calabar, Osun, Ondo, Ogun, Kogi, Kwara, and my northern brothers. I understand you're a Tinubu man, so i can understand your quote quite well.
Seriously? Have you been to Kwara before? And assume this governor is working by doing a renovation work? Something individuals do? Omo, years of bad governance in this your state has really messed you up real bad.
... while the rest, probably around 90% of there revenue goes to Europe and America. Do you know that only 2% of oil revenues from these corporations stays in Africa? I mean, the whole of Africa?
kyrejanes: Hello everyone. I have been struggling with hair loss for a long time, so I am considering a hair transplant. However, I’ve often heard that hair transplants are not covered in health insurance as they are considered for the “beauty”. I need to know if it is that way before making a decision.
Health insurances don't cover cosmetic surgeries. You have to pay outta pocket.
I know this werey go be number 1. From the school gate to the campus is a long trip on it's own and the school shares borders with 3 local governments. Damn!
Ashawoman82: but they told meta to pay $260m, if nigeria gives meta just $20m would it be wise for meta to pay that fine or just leave the country?
Nigeria is part of the "Rest of the World" category at Meta. From their publicly available data about last year revenue, Nigeria should not be contributing anything less than $100million out of it. $260m demand might be an overkill, how many companies do you know in Nigeria that are making equivalent of $20m without paying any form of taxes? Facebook and Instagram make money from targeted ads. Do you think it's wise to lose 100m+ potential audience in Nigeria?
Please try and do everything in your care to ensure he apply for international scholarship. He's too brilliant to be in a typical Nigerian university settings that operate archaic curriculum and still write code in notebooks
Calm down. He's still young and will graduate by 21 or 22 years of age. There are tons of full scholarships for post graduate studies, especially in the area of STEM. He just needs to keep up the good work and graduate with good grade. I started learning programming at 29. Starting software engineering professionally 3 years later. While at it, I got a full funded scholarship. I've interned with companies in the Baltic and Netherlands. No be everything be "Nigeria happened to you". The lad still has his whole life ahead of him. He just have to have the right information and that's all.
Modified: The boy is already programming using Python at 16. As successful and fulfilled as I'd say I am right now, I didn't have that privilege until I'm in my late 20s. Whether they teach programming on slate of rocks in Nigerian universities, it's none of his business. Shey the guy is even going to study computer related course? I studied economics. Nigeria will only happen to you if you're looking for connections to join pack of dull people working in the civil service. There's no job in Nigeria, but everyone I know in my circle are doing more than one job at a time, most of which they didn't apply for. The employers reach out to them on LinkedIn. Dey there dey find job wey millions of other people can do and think it will be easy for you to get.
He " plans all the way till the very end" a la 48 Laws of Power.
Any other mortal would have relaxed that Buhari promised him succession... Tinubu didn't, because he saw the signs of betrayal.
No other Nigerian would have won on APCs ticket with Buhari's disastrous performance. NO ONE out of over 200 million.
How did he win with Muslim - Muslim ticket ?
I am APC to the core. But I can tell you something. Tinubu was smart enough to finance Obi's Presidential campaign without even Obi knowing! Because Tinubu was calculating.
"Losing" in Lagos, Kaduna and Abuja were all deliberate. Part of the plan. If you claim victories in those places , how can you question the overall results ?
Tinubu planted people in Atiku and Obi's camps far before those ones even knew they would contest. Those moles kept egging Atiku on that there was something fishy about Tinubu's Chicago certificate. Tinubu very intentionally wasted their time.
You're right. God's Favour and God-given intellect the man has. He's obviously very very meticulous too. He's a very dangerous man. People like him in Nigeria's history might not be more than 5.
5 ke? We are just 4. Me and Tinubu are the last of our kind.
SarkinYarki: Nigeria is a negligible market to Meta ,they don't have to be here .It's cheaper for them to exit that pay almost 300 million dollars in copycat fines .. even if they exit most of you will still use VPN to use their service so there is no loss
Even though Meta revenue from Nigeria is more than what you stated, all I asked was "is $20million a joke to you?" Once you realize that Meta needs our audience, you'll know why they'll have a lot to lose.
Na dull people full these gen-Z sets. What I know when I was in JSS3, most of them don't know it as at the time they finished secondary school. If it was paper exam like the old time, don't be surprised 85% of them won't score up to 200.
