Hello Nairalanders, I will be traveling to the Southern part of the Country for the first time in my life. I was born and raised in the North Central, Plateau state to be precise.

I will be traveling to Aba to buy some goods for a Client, initially I was planning to move to Port-Harcourt, then from there enter Aba and Onitsha after I'm done with shopping I will move back to Port-Harcourt and take a Bus back home.

Now the issue here is I have never travelled to the South, a lot of people here are telling me that there's no security, even lodging is not safe because EFCC might raid the lodge anytime. And the Streets are also not safe.

Pls Nairalanders in port and Aba should recommend a good and safe area for me. I was told keke and bus drivers don't usually speak English na so so language dem dey speak.

Help a brother pls.

honest advise, by someone who has been to both onitsha, Aba and PH. I don't see a reason why you should go alone on this your journey.. Honestly if you don't like aftertale wahala, why not go with a trader that always ply aba/onitsha that way you get inducted into how things work down here...

At one time or the other a friend have had to, goto onitsha /Aba, for their first time they always have someone experienced escort them. For technical know-how /security / communication / understanding....

If you are the very adventurous type you honestly have no problems, especially if you are streetsmart... Don't speak hausa, (for courteous sake, not because they will do anything to you)...

Don't try to explore the night life, since it's your first time.. Don't act timid too, afterall na goods you come buy with your money... I think you will be ok,

I say this with all sense of humility that our people are overly intolerant.

We attach too much importance to tradition when tradition has not helped us.

We worship the Oba but have zero respect for God.

The Bini man fears him because according to folklore, he has all the powers.
But if his curse was that potent, how come he has not cursed the marauding Fulani herdsmen ravaging all of Ovia North or brought peace to the warring APC in his domain.

It is a great shame, that a University graduate and a Pastor will believe that a mere man can utter a word and all of Benin will be submerged in water.

I completed this for a client in less than 2hours from scratch. The idea was to create a luxurious identity that can be used universally in all field.. I had few minutes to think, i came up with this and the client liked it.

Hi, i am sam, but known as Dr3amCatcher. I design logos, Business cards, Brochures, Make Company presentations, Slide shows, flyers and posters etc
I work with Industry Softwares Adobe Creative cloud and Microsoft Office Applications.

I am also A web design (Please don't confuse me with web developer, I only have little knowledge of HTML5 & CSS, currently learning Javascript).
I design responsive websites that don't require much backend development.
I work with WordPress, Dreamweaver and Web Builder.

I just finished an intensive one month course UI/UX design. I can create web/App interfaces and mock ups.
I work with Adobe XD and Figma online Program.

That's not all i also make illustrative social media adverts, in motion graphics design using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, My incredible Resources in Instagram story Advertising and illustration is insurmountable, so far i have an arsenal worth over 134 gigabytes in this field...

Motorcycle taxis did not exist in Lagos before 1994. Lagosians heard about their existence in other states (mainly the northern states) and often laughed at those states because they believed that those states were backward.

Commercial motorcycles suddenly bust onto the scene in the mid-1990s. The authorities knew, even back then, that they were a great hazard. Governor Buba Marwa developed a plan to remove the motorcycles (nicknamed Okada after Okada Air which was believed to be able to go anywhere, even in great danger). Colonel Marwa imported auto rickshaws from India and planned to migrate the okada riders from riding motorcycles to riding rickshaws. He believed that the rickshaws were safer because they had 3 wheels (and therefore more stability) and that the riders would not be able to ride recklessly in the rickshaws. The auto rickshaws were eventually nicknamed after Governor Marwa (Keke Marwa).

The Obasanjo Administration used the auto rickshaws as a tool for poverty alleviation. They imported a lot of the rickshaws, painted them green and white and gave them to poor people on hire purchase basis. The rickshaws were known as Keke Napep, after the National Poverty Alleviation Programme (NAPEP) of the Obasanjo Administration.

There have been several restrictions and attempts to ban both Okadas and Keke Marwa in many states in Nigeria because the governments believe that they are unsafe (there have been many terrible accidents involving motorcycle taxis), the riders are unruly and because they also believe that they are being used by criminals to rob innocent citizens. Most of these bans and restrictions began in the period between 2009-2011. Here is a list of such bans.
