jmoore: Corruption, mismanagement and lack of foresight.
Last month, Nigeria achieved 5,420.30 MW in the national grid, the highest in history Transmission Company of Nigeria was proud of this announcement. This type of records are not the ones you blow with trumpet. National grid has been swinging between 4,000+ MW and below for years. 4,517 megawatts was attained on December 23, 2012. 4,545 megawatts was attained on July 13, 2015. 5 years later, an addition of 1,000 MW approximately is not something to be celebrated.
We need a quantum leap in solving the power problems of Nigeria.
Egypt added 25,000 megawatts (MW) of new power stations to their national electricity grid during the period from June 2014 to June 2018. Got that? 25,000 MW in just 4 years.
In October 2018, project consortium partners Siemens, Elsewedy Electric and Orascom Construction officially unveiled one of the largest combined cycle megaprojects in Beni Suef, Egypt. The teams completed three plants totalling 14,400 MW in a record time of 27.5 months at the cost of €6 billion.
One dude foolishly asked if we can afford to pay 24/7 power supply. It is like asking if we can afford to pay 24/7 access to phone services or 24/7 access to water supply. exactly. |

DamZik: Nigeria has made you believe simple thing is difficult. 24/7 electricity that some private companies have been generating for years in Nigeria. Generating constant light is not the problem, the problem is the mediocrity of our politicians. Let them not decieve you further. Change your thinking. dont mind those clog minds. what Nigeria needs is Extension education. its citizens dont even know what can be done.how can they demand for what they dont know? |

zuma4k: Please fellow nairalanders, I need your opinions on this and if possible front page. It's quite personal and goes like this. 1. Mr Adam (my father) opens a fixed deposit account with X Bank. He subsequently submits his wife's details and makes her a co-signatory to the account with the *express mandate* that upon his demise, his wife exercises automatic access to the account and it's proceeds. Does this amount to a valid contract between him and the bank?.
2. Note that after his death the bank reneged on the primary provision of his directive, stating that a letter of administration must be procured (at an exorbitant cost). Stated Reasons bothers on the fact that under banking laws and the principles of a valid contract, a contract between a depositor and the bank terminates upon the demise of the individual thus rendering the *mandate* unenforceable and invalid. Please mods I need this on front page. Thanks. zuma4k : Please fellow nairalanders, I need your opinions on this and if possible front page. It's quite personal and goes like this. 1. It is due process that you get the letter of administration before contacting the bank concerning a diseased man's fund. I have never heard the bank sell letter of administration. Karex81: If you think the under display camera technology is a lie, you can go and check thier YouTube channel for yourself. Check mkbhd tweet or just search on YouTube. Zte is going to launch the world first under display camera technology on September 1. That time your eye go clear my point exactly, it won't take only an in-display camera technology to beat iPhone and galaxy phones... It will take more to convince us consumers that a xaomi Phone can be as reliable as an iphone or a Galaxy in overall performance. |

Celebrities › Re: Without Any Apology I Dare Say Chadwick Boseman Is Not A Movie Star. by Depressed101: 7:40pm On Aug 30, 2020 |
lordmicheal: WITHOUT ANY APOLOGY I DARE SAY CHADWICK BOSEMAN IS NOT A MOVIE STAR.
To the world black panther was just another action blockbuster.
But to us Africans, it was far more than a theatre work.
IT WAS A PROPHECY!
It was man been inspired by God to see into the future of Africa.
It was God showing the world a glimpse of the future Africa arrayed in her Glory!
We've seen the best of all continents (ranging from Great Europe to America and now Asia).
And although civilization started from Africa, black panther is a prove that the climax of civilization and advancement would still be in Africa.
Whether the world like it or not, a time would come when they all shall depend solely on the breast milk of our motherland (Africa) to survive.
With this in heart, we can now see beyond the veil of Hollywood and recognise who really Chadwick is to us.
He is not a movie star, for stars are made by movie industries and can be unmade by this same industries.
Chadwick have transcended this fate, he has become an icon in our heart.
He has become a symbol in our mind.
A symbol of hope, that reminds us on a daily basis of our glorious future and the latent potentials that flows through the veins of every African.
So that whenever we feel like giving up, we are quickly reminded how important we are in the agenda of God.
Knowing fully well that every African is needed to birth the future revealed in black panther.
With this I can say, that Chadwick Boseman is not dead. Because he like other icons of Africa will continue to live in and through us.
So, as long as their is Africa and Africans. Chadwick Boseman is still Alive!!!
