@poster,

How culture is different from Western culture where women shamelessly get drunk, throw up, and show there bossoms. Our women are more honorable and more classy.
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-257534.0.html

Classy indeed grin

If the girls in the link were drunk, wouldnt that have been better. At least they'd have an excuse cheesy

from wat i saw around me while growin up, yoruba women are not considered inferior or looked down upon- they work hand in hand with the males, and are schooled- at least my grandmother was, and we're talkin early 1900s. their husbands respect and sometimes ask for their opinions, and they are generally valued.
exactly why other tribes have a problem with Yoruba women. we werent raised to be shackled cheesy

Very condescending of him to say no one has seen Asiri Nla btw. How offensive. That movie was huge in the 90s and "Alade" became a household name for most people.

Riskie:
Would I say that them bowing down to the Queen is ridiculous? Yes absolutely. A handshake is enough I don't believe any human being should bow down to another. As far as I am concerned we are all equal. Just because someone bears some stupid archaic title does not make them any better than the "average" person.  undecided
be that as it may, it doesnt change the fact that when people visit the queen, they tend to bow or curtsy, they're just following the tradition. what's the big deal? huh
FamilyRe: Cooking Competition? by DeReloaded: 8:16pm On Apr 03, 2009
a lo ba ara ile e sun ??

and everyone is saying sisi jinx was being sarcastic with her statement
Last I checked i wasnt one who confessed to sleeping with a family member. Woof!

and um sorry to bust your bubble but sisi is known by many for her sarcasm, the fact that you think her comment is something a sane female would write says alot about you.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Bows And Kisses The Hand Of Saudi King At G20 Summit by DeReloaded: 8:07pm On Apr 03, 2009
Riskie:
The Saudi King is in no way similar to the Pope. There are no infallible figures in Islam. Further more there is no living person who is the sole figurehead for Muslims. He is simply the ruler of Saudi Arabia and only Saudi Arabia.  A handshake would have sufficed, that's all people are saying. No need for religious tug of war.
Would you say the same about him and Michelle bowing/curtsying to The Queen

Well maybe my laundry and foot massaging skills.

Whew!!!
Rofl, sisi. How many times will I tell you that your sarcasm doesnt work on NL.

FamilyRe: Cooking Competition? by DeReloaded: 8:49pm On Apr 02, 2009
I was only replying to some who think cooking is regarded as a role for African women - like the men force them to do it, or they cook to make their men happy.
That wasnt what I was implying and you know it unless you can show me who these "some" are that you were directing the comments towards.  I said if you learn, your son will wanna learn. Then the beat goes on. Nothing wrong with learning new things abi? You decided to make assumptions instead, na your own business be that. Like I said before, nevermind.

ANYWAY

Do they still show Maggi Cooking competitions in Naija? I used to see those when i was in secondary school. men and women trying to outdo each other. Hilarious. cheesy
