I noticed that myself hence my use of "chopping" instead. so lame

anyway Asians are definitely better at that genre. Americans have VERY few that I like ie The Others, etc. Some Japanese directors do the whole "unnecessary gore" thing but for the most part esp the Koreans, there's nice and subtle and VERY creepy. Love it.

You should watch The Eye. Not that POS remake with Jessica Alba angry

Tale Of Two Sisters is a great one from Korea.

Londoner, I'm almost tempted to agree with you that the beat in Ganga aso was more appealing than the language but I'll say tell that to the white guy that sang the track on youtube, if it was just the beat that appealed he would have just hummed to it. Again get with the programme!!
True. I saw that recently, he did the acoustic version
TV/MoviesRe: Favourite Horror Movies. . . . by DeReloaded: 7:46pm On Mar 03, 2009
American horror movies are so dumb.

Get some dumb "hot" girl
Have her frolicking around
Find some creepy ass house, have no ideqa who/what lives there
Decides she's gonna take a shower cos she's "dumb and hot"
Get chopped into pieces cos despite being "hot", we cant forget that she's daft

I never suggested it changes history, neither would I want. However, history never stops being created and added to.
Though paranoid people want to believe this "arguement" is about which state is better, that is not the case. People are merely stating what it is  which is a Yoruba state. It has an Oba which last I checked is the tradition of the Yorubas. Yes obviously there are MANY different ethnicities that are there, of course they can claim it as a home, doesnt change it history nor will it ever chnage its' history. People are just feeling uncomfortable cos they think this fact is a pissing contest. It's not. It merely is what it is. If someone claimed Enugu to be anything other that of the Igbos just cos non Igbos live there, I'd say the same thing.

Lol this thread has definitely gone in a completely different direction.

I'm not even sure you're from lagos state, and it's bitting your skin that i made a joke by calling lagos a semi-yoruba city.
as long as it's a "joke" sha. Born in Surulere, my friend.  Even then, I dont claim Lagos however I wont watch others deny what it is.

afam4eva:
Just the same way u're not aware that there are other ethnicities in lagos.
Um people are aware. That doesnt change the fact that it's a Yoruba State. Non-Igbos living in Enugu doesnt change it from being an Igbo state now does it?

Ole.

Lagos is a semi Yoruba city, the same way Port-hacourt is a semi Igbo City, we have to recognize other ethnicities that live in this cities.
is this a joke? huh Are you implying that Lagos and PH are the only states that have other ethnicities?

londoner:
I do hope they make the changes, even slight ones. Although I must say I watched some older Nollywood flicks a few weeks ago and I could see that there has been some improvement, which I hadn't even noticed before especially in the picture.
where did you see the improvement? Picture Quality or Plot Wise?

I definitely stand by the fact that plot wise they've gone way down. Picture Quality doesnt mean much to me but yea they improved in that

Doesnt change the fact that plot wise nowadays it's same old crap. They refuse to do stories based on culture but garbage on "so and so is a rich boy, his family is against him marrying a poor girl" "so and so is a poor girl, her family is against her marry a poor boy"

It's not a coincidence that alot of the older generation actors no longer act. Many of them have cited "poor stories" as being the reason. Do these producers care? No. As long as they can get some obanje chick that can put on a fake americana accent, why would they care that their pool of talented actors is dwindling.
