Car Talk / Re: Acura TSX 2008 For Sale In Lagos by DerFuhrer: 11:18pm On Apr 22
OP don’t be dismayed by these people who have nothing to offer but condemn people’s price tags. When they wanna sell, they can sell for 1m - that’s if they own their own cars.

I think even at 4m you’ll still get a buyer. Happy sales!

In the spirit of transparency and sharing, j’ai voulu vous partager que j’ai passe mon examen aujourd’hui. If I could go back, what would I do differently?

1. I’d stick to Madam Bizang (but only because her foundational classes are exceptional). I know someone had raised a complaint about her attitude and I mentioned it could be due to a barrier in language and culture. However, I eventually got a glimpse of what this person had described which honestly demoralized me and I had to call it out to her.

2. However, in addition to madam Bizang and the immersion (French podcasts etc) I’d honestly focus fully on using the past questions packs on réussirTCFcanada point com. I’ll tell you for free that a lot of the questions in EE and EO were all in their past questions which made these sections super breezy for me. Sharing some at the end of this message.

3. I’d request an adapted keyboard. The keyboard being used at AF Lagos is despicable. The keys are stiff and most times, you have to go back to correct what you’ve written because the keys are jammed somewhat. Also, adding the accents is tougher because you have to consciously pause and select the accent on the screen. A candidate who had written previously had requested for this during his registration and he received a wonderful adapted Azerty keyboard during the exam to all our envies.

4. I cannot repeat this enough. Practice the exam packs on that website over and over and over again for all épreuves! My only regret is not starting them earlier than last week. Even for CO and CE, saw a few repeated questions.

Things to note: you don’t control the time with CO. Each question has a set duration so you have to wait till the timer runs out to go to the next question. It would have been preferable to have control over the pace of CO. For CE, you control the pace.

Finally, I got B2 in both CO and CE but now I heard there’s a B2 haut and B2 Bas. And I didn’t pay attention to the scores because I thought the grades mattered most. Additionally, I had to leave the room immediately after so little to no time to take note of it. Now I’m anxious because I’m not sure I got B2 haut as I can’t remember seeing any 500s in either scores. I guess we’ll wait and see in three weeks as they advised. I’m super anxious and don’t even feel as relieved as I thought I would.

Finally, practice past questions till you’re sick of it!! I wish I had and if I have to rewrite this, I wouldn’t fret at all given this experience I now have. Again, it’s me…the one who started actively learning in September…I think all things are possible with a little determination. I’ll definitely try again if that’s required eventually!

Congratulations on completing the exams and I hope the results are as you desire when you receive them.

I’m a little confused about the part you said you needed to write accents with a keyboard, I was under the impression that the EE is pen and paper based while the CO and CE are are computer based MCQs. Could you please clarify why you needed to enter texts that require accents with a keyboard?

The Naira wasn't the only reason, it is also the increased demand, the cut-off marks for the last two French draws were 366 and 336. We can only hope, nothing is guaranteed. Eh bien... On peut toujours rêver, n'est-ce pas ?

Oui, on n’a pas le choix de toute façon.

Now that the Naira is steadily appreciating, is Alliance Française likely to bring down the cost of the exam? 700k is too steep given the current exchange rate.

It doesn't matter. As long as you have CLB 7, and there's a french draw, your CRS score is enough, you'll get the ITA...

Thank you

Use the language in which you scored the highest CLB so that you can get the highest possible scores. You only need to get CLB7 in French to qualify for the French category draw. If you scored CLB10 in English, you have to put it as your first language.

Thank you

Definitely... Play around with the CRS Calculator... You can even use french as your first language if you're yet to do your English, who knows, there might be a french draw.

Please just to confirm, to qualify in the French proficiency category, must I use French as my first language? Or I can enter English as my first language and still qualify in the French category by virtue of my TEF result?

The matter tire me. One thing with all these small small children of nowadays be say them go dey carry things wey big pass their age, things wey some matured girls dey wish say dem get, na him all these small pikin go dey carry dey waka upandan, Na him dey make some men loose guard. Personally for me, i believed the age of consent should be set to 13 years, that is the natural age when girls begin to be eligible to become pregnant and it should be legal to have sex with a 13 year old because according to nature, they are ripe for plucking at that age. All these 18+ seems nonsensical to me because it's seems against the laws of nature.

Hello house,

Has anyone here used the PrepMyFuture platform to prepare for TEF Canada, and how likely are you to recommend it? I have above-average knowledge of French (lived in a francophone country) but would like to use the next two months to improve on that and prepare for the exam.

Is it a good option?

Standard mail is okay

Thank you. I’m currently on the payment page and would like to confirm if the total fee seems about right or if I have missed something.

Also, upon receipt of my application, will WES directly contact my school (University of Ibadan) for my transcript, or do I have to initiate that process and send to WES. Can you please explain how that part works?

Hello house,

I’m trying to set up my profile for WES evaluation and I’m currently stuck on this page in the image shared. I’m not quite clear what ‘Delivery method’ there is referring to exactly or the option to select.

Would appreciate some clarifications. Thanks.

Hello everyone pls I need your input on these my questions to avoid mistake

So I have only Bsc and I'm also applying for a 2 year course in Canada which if all things work out well, I will start my studies by next year.

So now I want to enter the pool as soon as possible cos no time due to age factor

I want to apply for advance diploma in business administration in HRDC, unilag so I can have 2 certificate

1. Can I evaluate the certificate Abi I should not waste my money and time?

2. Is it possible to finish the course by December? So I will get into the pool by next year after evaluation

3. Has anyone gotten PR using the certificate as a second degree?

I'm about to register for it so I want to be sure before going ahead

Thank you all for your input.

Hello,

My question is unrelated to your post but the ‘age factor’ bit caught my attention and I’ve seen it multiple times. At what age do your chances become slimmer? Or if you could just shed more light on age as a criteria to success in pursuing Canada PR.

Thank you.

Please i am a newbie here, age is about to cut me off hence my presence here.

Please is there anywhere in Abuja I can learn french or online for a beginner? This tef new price weak me sha but it is well. Let me learn first. Please help me.

There should be an Alliance Française branch in Abuja. They are a good option for physical classes. There are online resources shared in the first few pages of this thread as well. Do well to check them out. I would however recommend a physical class for a complete beginner in French.

Bon chance!

Maybe it was 160k cfa at a time in 2022, I can't remember
But my point is, up to last week it was 140cfa across West Francophones. It just increased, in fact I still have the schedule where it was 140k cfa. Maybe after 2022 it was decreased or maybe your registration agency charged you. I've known it to be 140k cfa for a while!
That being said, 160k cfa is about 400k in naira now. It better to write there than... 700k Ngr

When do you plan to take the test and what's the process of registration. I go to Cotonou often and I think I'll prefer to take it there. However, do you not think the grading system will be a lot different considering that is a francophone country?

Didn't you see cost of maintenance and good ground clearance, and road to his village is rocky?
So you still want him to buy a muscle or crosstour?
He should buy a car that will be cheap to maintain, buy parts. Either big daddy or corolla 05 will do.

CR-V, Rav 4, Acura Mdx/rdx, Pilot, Highlander etc of 2007 and above are good options.

What’s your obsession with ugly cars made in 05?

Someone’s contemplating between Crosstour Muscle and your recommendation is Big Daddy? The way people dish out weird advices online is crazy.

I’ll be honest, I find some of your choices strange for a first-timer. Gx470?? 😳 You won’t know what hit you after fueling that v8 engine for a month. It’s a reliable car no doubt but it’s not the best economical choice - unless you own a fuel station of course.

The Camry is too old so I wouldn’t recommend. Between the Acura and EOD, both v6 engines but I’ll go for the Acura. It’s more recent and it’s reliable car, great handling too.

I can’t help but ask, do you have something against 4 plug engines? If you don’t mind, I think Corolla, Civic, Pontiac Vibe and CR-V are far better choices especially for a first-timer.

It’s crazy what this country has become, I don’t even want to blame the poster for the price tag cos they’re probably factoring in import prices - fair enough.

But it’s really hard to see anyone dropping 4m for a discussion continues in 2024.

Tough time to do business man. Good luck to everyone.
