The way this stock thing works is somewhat confusing. Why on Earth did somebody or some people sell ABC Transport for 27k yesterday? The thing was at 30k for about two days, they didn't sell it then. Why did they prefer to sell at the lowest price possible yesterday when they could have sold at a higher price on Monday?
Not everyone arrive and leave the market the same time.
The sellers might have not known that irresponsible money has become available until that moment. grin

The National Broadcasting Commission has suspended the operating license of DAAR Communications PLC
Director General of the Commission Isa’aq Modibbo disclosed this at a briefing in Abuja.

The NBC boss says the decision was taken because of the company’s persistent violations of the NBC’s broadcasting Code, despite several warnings from the commission

He adds that this decision is not taken on any form of partisan consideration and the suspension stands until further notice

https://tvcnews.tv/nbc-suspends-daar-communications-license-of-operation/

Dokpesi is a CORPORATE THIEF that ought to rot in jail.
They should fine him an equivalent of the IPOs money before he can resume broadcasting.
Nice move, you can't escape with that level of theft and wish to rest in peace.
All the money made during Jonathan's campaign was cornered by this guy with zero benefit to shareholders.
He should bear his cross, we have dashed him all our shares in DAAR, let him sell them and fix his life.... grin

Thank u Sir Nonah Awoh for this explicit input.

Luckily, some of us saw most of these concerns and red flags in OANDO years ago and took to safety.
...and while we did our best to enlighten others, there is not much impact that we can make.
Because just one person like me(and maybe a few others) can not do much if and when the majority is either ill-informed, acting indifferent to matters and/or 'working against the tide'.

The urgency of the need for real/true shareholder activism is just about one of the many things we have been calling out for in years.
As shareholders, we must understand that(in the investment world) we are lowest on 'the investment hierarchy scale of preference'.
Some persons are not aware that if and when a company goes bankrupt or is liquidated, the creditors, bondholders and quite regrettably, other key domestic/foriegn investors, board members and management all take higher and far much better preference ahead of the minority shareholders. ...this situation is even made more worse by 'the Nigerian factor'.
We are far behind in that hierarchical step.
...and because of that, it's easy for some of these managers to manipulate and manoeuvre their way around, using some of the 'subsets in the hierarchy', particularly the bold, to suck up every return from a company and leave us with 'empty shrubs', if at all !!
This is why u have very few quoted companies that have managed to stand the test of time on sound coperate governance.
I have always maintained that we are not doing enough as shareholders.
The 1st step is to see ourselves beyond the traditional statement; "I am a shareholder"
It's high time we saw our stakes accross different firms as INVESTMENTS. ...as ASSETS that we HAVE TO GROW its margin.
But u can not grow a thing if u fail to, or act indifferent on the need to PROTECT IT !!
In the finance world, capital/asset preservation is thrice as important as its appreciation. U can not grow(net margin) if u can't preserve what should bring about that growth !!
In fact, its high time we became OVERPROTECTIVE of our INVESTMENTS !!
Nigeria requires us to be. ...the deficiencies here are beyond deep and the rot in the system is at best, alarming !!
I have always said that the coperate world is structurally configured 'to take from the minor and give to the elite'.
Again, we must learn to ask the right questions, speak up laud enough, and fight the right fight !! Our voices and 'its echoes must be heard without season'.
But we can not achieve any success if we work not as a COLLECTIVE and if we fail to speak with one voice !!

On an individual level, I have always advised on the need for folks to work to equip themselves with the RIGHT TOOLS that will act as shield when the need arises.
Some of my past written NUGGETS(I posted some here) can be handy tools in that line.
Like I said before; It has become even more imperative than ever to DEFINE U and inculcate in that definition, the WHY, WHEN and HOW to go about any investment before taking a plunge. ...particularly in the stock market.

Fortunately, we still do have the option to make the RIGHT CHOICES !!

Salah.
You have said it all.
'Shockholders' of Oando value Wale's words more than their deserved dividends!

If you enter a stock and they are not paying dividend, take it from me, they are either presently stealing or have already stolen everything, or are in the process of stealing, before bringing out that FICTITIOUS earnings report.
At least we all know that no law mandates them to bring the money they claim to have made and count it during AGM. Even if this was so, they will borrow it and count it, take it back after the AGM.
I honestly pray we understand this, no one can force you to become a shareholder in any stock. This is the ONLY sure way to safety.

See how people are putting head inside JA'POO'.

The pregnant offers are on the way. They can't be hurried. Just wait and see.

They are managing the offers to ensure they don't cause commotion. If you want, clear all these offers and have the opportunity of seeing the pregnant offers.

Tinubu must have collected the lifeline of oando and Waka.

No difference between Japaul and oando now.

For those who assumed oando will be on full bid today, better sell your shell units now and run........#1 seriously loading, followed by suspension, reconstruction is not far fetch after all these........
Sell to who? Better buy snacks and relax in the bus. The driver has left with the keys.

Chai! Sugar and flour. Really cracking my head to know anser to this kwesion.
Let me take a guess: Dangsugar is undervalued while FMN is overvalued.
Just a matter of time that sugar overtake flour and reward investors........sugar hardly moves but once its set to move, it moves on steroid.
I can remember a time both salt and sugar were selling around 6naira, it stayed on the spot for long but when the bus move, it doubled.
There is real value in one and a potentially sentimental value in the other after further surgery..... grin
