Don't be in a hurry, bruva.. Their next match which is over twelve hours away isn't even West Ham. |

You type in one and write in the other.. :/ |
I was hoping this is the right place to post this note. I personally do not prefer to act or react under diuress, hence my decision to take my time to elaborate on this issue. I believe we all know what an activity without any sort of moderation/regulation would look like. You see, the habit of e-battering the judges in what we still come forward to claim is not a do or die affair is quite disgusting. If we weren't expecting human species to analyse the essays, we surely would have ordered robots from Japan. Please, I would love us(contestants) to adopt the spirit of sportsmanship and appreciate every single judge in this debate, as every different one brings something different to the contest (The Mbaise Igbos will say 'Ha nyukorita mamri, o gbaa ufufu'). Like M.J.B affirms, Tact is having nothing progressive to say, and saying nothing. Let's not spoil the flavour of this event with our varying reactions. The basic aim is to get better and enjoy ourselves. |
*drags in one cooler of Osomo* If I hear say people no walk on their heads today.. |
Elliotwiz.. I will on one condition.. That you tell me where the after-party is happening..and keep me a bo'le of Mc Dowells.. Deal? |
Elliotwiz1.. Those essays are too damn long. Went through all yesterday, you wanna send me through 'em again?? Haba.. I was half-expecting you to gimme an address for the after-party. You just qualified..That's what the debate sums up, right? |
Elliotwiz1: are you the judge? If you are, please lets have a quiet question and answer chat on your decisions and what you think about what i think.....1- did the second speaker of UI post a reference? You see, that 'judge' title kind of ended with that criticism and the alert which you quoted o.. Truthfully, and factually, I don't remember being that 'judge' anymore. I'm simply being me right now, God is my witness. I'll give my opinion at your request, if you will. |
The criticisms of the essays have been posted on a space in 'page 4' of this thread, which I reserved. Sorry for not posting it earlier..was occupied. |
TEAM NDU I must commend your team work. The absence of conflicts in the arguments of both participants is a joy to behold. Keep it up. However, the lack of clear-cut evidence in both works, as well as references to corroborate the given information weighed down on your presentation. You must appreciate the importance of such. Elliotwiz1 I must say I'm impressed by the experts' view of your arguments. You garnered enough points to quell any professional differences. But then your essay had no topic (subject matter) and there were cheap mistakes here and there, which would have been avoided with proper proofreading. Also, you must not give your opponents 'leads', like mentioning 'challenges' without nullifying them directly. Your performance at the rebuttals was enviable. Getrichfast presented the best topic alignment overall, but placing it behind your start almost ruined it. Also, you didn't state your stance in the body of the essay and didn't address the judges' call for clarification. However, your knowledge of the topic is commendable. More impressing however, is the presentation of the 'non-CBN' point of view of your arguments. Good job to familiarize commoners with the relevance. Remarkable improvement from your last time out by the way. TEAM UI Your topics were really poorly made up. You must realize the importance of the subject matter to your plight and the audience comprehension of your viewpoint. But then, the simplistic approach of your team to the topic aided the flow of your arguments. Welldone. Aysuccess99 did greatly by familiarizing the controversial issue with the audience. Your arguments (especially the procedural list) appealed to the human emotions matter-of-factly. But the, there were cheap errors here and there, one which could have been avoided via proper 'proofreading. And by the way, I'm a 'male' human. Olalerey's 'early arrival' was greatly appreciated by the audience, I believe. The conclusion and introductory explanation of your work begs for attention. It was roughly done. However straightforward your points were, the presence of repeated errors and your absence at rebuttals were not appreciable. You'll have to give more. More grease. In general, both sides knew their roles as 'chief' and 'supporting' speakers. I wish to see both teams go far and work together as a team more often. To present something this excellent must have taken a lot from you. One thing we must hold on to, is that we can only come out better than we were, regardless. And the co-ordinators idea(s) to post the works themselves is a brilliant one. Thumbs up! |
@ElliotWiz1.. Thus, you lead us to believe Ghana's power sector was already capable enough to handle the cashless economy prior to the implementation and thus, Nigeria should, in fact, upgrade their power sector before implementing it too, just like our African brother, Ghana, did. |
@AySuccess.. I've observed your points. Still, is it enough reason for you to dump the 24/7 ATM for the queues in banks only available from 9am-4pm, Mondays to Saturdays? |
@Elliotwiz1.. Okay.. Thanks for the clarification. So, let's study Ghana.. How did they tackle theirs? For instance, the power requirements. Were they available before or after the cashless policy implementation? |
@AySuccess.. I would love you to completely discredit the benefits of any of the 'positives' you gave hints of at the beginning of your essay..say, 'the importance of ATMs' particularly. What is/are the grave danger(s) of owning one? |
@Getrichfast.. There was something your opponent highlighted and I quote.. There are many challenges ranging from broadband infrastructures, tested and accredited application software, trust economy, legislation, human skill capacities, call centre backbone, consumers profile data, data protection as well as security and credible regulations that need to be put in place. What's your reaction to the costs, user-friendliness and privacy implications of this? |
@Elliotwiz1: At the beginning and towards the end of your essay, you made mention of some problems/challenges which should be overlooked like our African brothers did. What insignificant challenges could that be? |
Ghydyon: #team fynestboi...i vote for the one and only FYNESTBOI on nairaland...i luv dis dudeAre you Gaybriel Ogaychukwu? |
I and my family vote 'FYNESTBOI' |
Sometimes, you need to restrict your 'riddling' to the real world. Maths isn't where you come throwing riddles about, forgetting that even common place words like 'and' 'or' 'not' etc, have different meanings.. |
Keep the votes coming!! Note: Those two posts above without clear indication of choice was not counted. But thanks for the information contained. |
pseudonomer: Thank you very much. Please, I want you explain better what you meant by "absence of a topic".Sorry for the very LATE reply.. The essay had no 'heading'. |
Fynestboi.. Count me x3 o.. You suppose transfer my nomination first because e don teh wey I dey shout am.. |
obailala: Can someone please explain the motive behind all these insults simply because a picture is seen of a lady in a cockpit??I bet you really haven't done Yo Momma disses much.. Try that and you'll know the comments are indeed very fair.. ![]() |

To we, she may be a captain..but to captain, she is no captain.. BTW, who took the picture of her with the pilots?? #IfaTinz |
I think Ronaldo is a better player than Ribery individually. Judging based on trophies makes the Ballon d'Or a team effort. |
Drops a grenade in here and walks off.. |
Olabisi and Izojie Imafidion have again lent credence to the maxim, “What a man can do, a woman can do better.”Post their CGPA or the bolded still hasn't happened. |
For those using phones based on Java OS, there are two ways to switch off your whatsapp.. 1. Move your whatsapp application to your memory card. It is slow, but will eventually move. Whenever you need it switched off, remove the memory card. 2. Start up Communities, and Notifications(for 2go or downloaded). After this, you start up Chat 'app'(which is on the Menu). You will be asked to close one of either Communities or Notifications or Whatsapp. Close Whatsapp. Note that you can also exit Chat and Communities so that they're running offline. |
I tried to float a thread for Nairalanders to vote on their own choice winner for the Ballon d'Or out of the three-man shortlist. I'ld really appreciate it, if you look into the publicizing of this thread on FP so that we also can have a voice as to whom we prefer to grace the award. You can view the thread here.. https://www.nairaland.com/1549211/nairaland-sports-poll-should-win |
