Healing without a relationship?? That's really unfair. I also think a better insight on what the 'relationship' requires is essential.

BusinessClosure Of Commercial Banks In Imo State: How Has It Affected You? by DesChyko1(op): 9:11am On Dec 13, 2013
I believe for those of us residing in Imo State, the refusal of commercial banks to operate in protest of the huge taxes levied on them by the Imo State Government, and the subsequent harassment by the tax agents and official may have hampered (or aided) us in one way or the other.

For me, I went to the bank from work, at 4:05pm yesterday to withdraw some funds via ATM, but met all the banks at Ahiara Junction, Mbaise closed. I went earlier, at 7:00am this morning, only to be advised by my friend who works there to go to any bank outside Imo State to make withdrawals. In advance, this sums up a dry weekend for me and uncertain pay day.

How have you been affected?

EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate::winner: OAU by DesChyko1(m): 7:32pm On Dec 07, 2013
Yeah.. I don't know how I missed that. OAU's argument was just centered on 'killings'. Lacked more points. I've been a victim of this in the pioneer debate whose topic was 'Strike in the education sector'.. I spoke solely on ASUU strike and that almost cost me qualification. Take care to expantiate on more points.
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate::winner: OAU by DesChyko1(m):
Minus the debater whom for some reasons didn't follow up his arguments, this was an evenly contested heated affair.. Kudos to the OAU team for braving this one and equal measure to the FUNAAB team for putting up a great fight...

TEAM OAU

OLUWATOLA
Commanding performance from you. Your presentation and performance at the rebuttals are really commendable. Team OAU is in good hands. However, you must bear in mind that the basic tool is communication. Your vocabulary bank is wonderful, so is your ability to convince the audience without confusing them. Minimize/Maximize the use to best effect. Welldone.

CIMETIDINE
I must appreciate the way you kept your work simple while driving home your points. Makes for easy read and understanding. However, your essay is quite too casual for its purpose. You have to proofread after typing and make your points stronger with good evidence. Good attempt.

In general, your team work combined to good effect, especially in your rebuttals. You both deserve unreserved commendations for seeing it all the way through. However, you must avoid answering questions with questions. It does you no good at all.

TEAM FUNAAB

PSEUDONOMER
Quite a flawless essay from you and your performance at the rebuttals was excellent, most especially, your direct answers and calm parries. However, the absence of a topic dealt a terrible blow to your essay. Keep it up.

DAMEX333
Well, your essay had the makings of a good write up, but the overall presentation was dismal, due to the absence of a proper introduction(topic) as well as conclusion, worsened by a scanty content. You MUST be more reliable to lift your team. Your late appearance shows committment though. Work on it.

In general, Team work is the watchword. Prepare well together and you may actually show your true strength. Welldone.

EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate::winner: OAU by DesChyko1(m): 3:27pm On Dec 07, 2013
@Oluwatola: Your argument centred on the loss of lives and insecurity in the 'Nothern Region' which accounts for only 3 of 6 Geo Pol. Zones in Nigeria. Are you still pushing for the limitation of the posting since at Present, the other three have witnessed no such ethnic-related killings? If so, why?

pseudonomer: That's the essence of serving the country, when you serve your country there are some risk involved, that is why it is called self-less service. But I know the federal government is trying her best to secure the lives of the corp members.
Noted. Please, help us with a corroborative instance of what the Federal Government has done to panacea this bane.
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate::winner: OAU by DesChyko1(m): 3:13pm On Dec 07, 2013
cimetidine: I mean the aim is to unite ethnic groups as argued by my opponents, however incessant cases of riot still lingers despite the geo-political zone posting.
Also sir, the cost of travelling is so far too much to afford talkless of travel risks. Thanks sir.
Good. Let's believe then that the 'benefits' of the NYSC is not worth the 'risk'. Right?
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate::winner: OAU by DesChyko1(m): 3:01pm On Dec 07, 2013
@Pseudonomer: The intending Corpers have no say in where they will serve as the NYSC authorities do that. Talking about sacrifices, wouldn't you agree that the NYSC scheme is in truth, an outright violation of their right to live, by sacrificing Corpers against their will?
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate::winner: OAU by DesChyko1(m): 3:00pm On Dec 07, 2013
@Cimetidine: Your argument is observed. However, you insisted that the NYSC is not achieving its aim. Aside from the 'probable' safety of their lives, what other purpose will limiting the Corpers to their Geo Pol Zone serve?
EducationRe: Nairaland Interschool Debate::winner: OAU by DesChyko1(m): 2:02pm On Dec 07, 2013
Please, observe the rules and guidlines of the debate @ Debaters and Audience. Do not disrupt the flow of the debate. The co-ordinators will tell you what to do, when to do it. Thanks.

Congrats To UNILAG!!
Good Battle I must say.. Lemme share some feelings with y'all contestants..

Snoopy,
Your command of English and the arrangement of your work was second to none. The introduction and arrangement of arguments were spectacular. Your amazing point totally had me..at least until I read the argument of the opposing side.. Welldone.

Damoskiy..
I expected to see definitions for 'debate' and 'supporting' as well. I think you could do with less definitions though. And your points were self-contradictory. However, you did good enough. Only you need to work as a team.

Ayomitide77
Frankly, your presentation was really bad. The work looks so shabby like an overnight job. However, there's no denying the quality of information housed in your work. That's why the poor presentation showed a lot. I think your argument convinced me much more than any other. Just two tips: Take your time in preparing and drive your points home.

Gbemmie09
You listed your points before explaining, like a text book instead of an essay. That sucks. But that 'John De Werey' quote of yours at the end about new ways of teaching was absolutely brilliant. Don't think I'll ever forget it.. Your team's argument is quite impressive and really worth looking into.

Snoopy, Welldone but I don't really see a slingshot victory for your team today.

TBrownAuto: Go and check your brian 1 you are poverty oriened 2 may be u are 11 yrs old you post because NL has no policy against that
CORRECTED VERSION
Go for a mental check-up for the following reasons:
1. You are poverty-oriented.
2. Maybe you are eleven year-old because Nairaland have no policy restricting such young age.
LESSON
If you must be rude, at least exhibit such derogatory disposition intelligently. The world has no space for the unlearned.

qhiwegh: ..blah...blah...blah..
The baselines of your facts are..

1. The privileged must not help the poor because it's a useless, worthless effort. God must do his job himself.

2. Real 'men of God' don't help people physically. It's an insult to their 'powerfulness' and 'holiness'.

3. As a real 'man of God', your target in life must to be live exceeding extravagant to set good examples for your subordinates and faithful..

I will show this to any 12-year old around and see what he thinks of your mentality..

In my place, it is a taboo to swear falsely using the traditional three-legged stove. It never leaves the compound, so serves as a witness.
