We travelled to the UK in Aug,2016 when he was 18 months without any Nigerian passport and we didnt have any issues as regards his overstaying! Maybe we were just lucky. it was an oversight by the immigration officer,if not, hmmmmmm. |

nefertitiram: My dear. It is a very big problem o. Nigerian immigration are rotweillers. They will help you calculate how long he has been in Nigeria on an expired visa and bill you to pay before you travel. It runs into thousands of dollars and you can't fly until it has been sorted... haba madam nef, not just nigeria immigrations..over stay is a serious offence in any country. |

This is what has kept this thread going and if we stop giving back then there's no point telling newbies to 'go and read', what will they be reading?
So please please and please, no experience is trivial. @boluwagin I suggest you go to the records office and inquire there about how to correct the mistake or you call the vital records office. Please do share your experience and outcome when you have sorted it out. Gracias i was about saying that too. |

Swisstk post=54179123[b: ][b]Emirates doesn't use the port health certificate,I trI'd to get it but was told it was not required. They have like two different forms u can download from their website. One is the MEDIT and the other is a regular form which u need to give your doctor to fill and sign as well as ur fit to fly from your doctor. I travelled on the 12th of janunary at 35wks and 3days.
All I have said is void if they have changed their policy in the last couple of days. SeArch their website n Print their policy.take it with u to the airport. is it a new policy?cos my wife used port health certificate last time she travelled with emirate. |

TripleKMama: TKM Snr & Jnr Update: End of Missionary journey.
Hi everyone. I've looked forward to writing Dis for long but time wont just let me. Truly, everything changes when baby shows. I arrived Abuja on d morning of Jan 12 to the glory of God. I salute baba God for victory. Nobody else to take dis glory! He deserves my praise o! In dis journey, I was duped of N2m on my birthday in december and also had a near-fatal car crash (car is a write off!) but TKM snr & Jnr are all alive and well. no scratch! I'll share my trip summary, delivery story and tips for anyone to learn cos I learnt a lot! I'll occasionally modify d post to add anytin I rmbr but PM directly for details if necessary. DELIVERY I initially planned using st peters NJ as a relative was to take my delivery (totally waived ObGyn fees for me) but on arrival, I discovered more hidden fees at st peters so I started considering my plan B seriously. Apart from Vag delivery of $8000 and CSS $12,000, oda Fees included extra day for mum $1800 and extra day for baby $1300. I couldn't do dat so I decided to opt out. Eventually did St Mary's (thanks to Funtolash for all d tips & details). Vag delivery $4000 and CS $5000. My delivery breakdown. Dr Fares $2000 Pediatrician (Dr Zamani) thru Dr Fares office $750 inclusive of all baby's hosp assessment. Hosp fee for CS $5000 inclusive of hosp tests. Anesthesia $1000 (sent to u by post after discharge) SSN applied for at d hosp along wit Birth Cert. Birth Cert ready & collected at town hall 4 days after discharge (I applied monday & collected Friday). $10 per copy. SSN arrived 3wks after birth. In between, I commenced applyin for USA passport by post. Paid $160 for expedited (came in post after 9days). Was told expedited was 2-3wks but regular application 6weeks. Since it will enter Xmas period, I did expedited. Adding USPS speed post, passport foto fee of $15, everythin came up to around $220. It was well worth it cos it took d stress of carryin baby to NY off me. Not too mention logistics. Did visa on arrival (thanks to Desoul). I was supposed to obtain d visa at Abuja airport but nobody asked me and I was too exhausted. To do ajayi for dat one. Na how TKM snr save $200 dat day o (as I already paid $200 for extra lugGage at JFK) so dat was a consolation for me.
Infant ticket with BA $267. They insisted baby's ticket is 1 way saying that's d remaining part of d trip as baby must be attached to an adult. Paid at d airport on departure. On board bassinet was provided, air hostesses were nice n helpful. how come the immigration officials allowed you to pass without paying the $200 visa fee, Talking abt excess luggage, I was fortunate to meet considerate staff at d airport. I inevitably checked in 9 items. Don't know how dey charged me for only 1. No be God? Plus stroller, car seat and base. General Tips. 1. Pls don't Go alone if possible. It always helps. If u can afford it. I enjoyed d help I Got from my sister even tho because baby came 4wks early,it meant my sis eventually came "late" but still very helpful. 2. U need post delivery care especially after CS. 3. Open many new accounts and travel wit ATM cards. Walmart,Kmart, Burlington and many other small stores (Burger King etc) accept naija Viisa or mastercard at N325 per dollar. 4. Access Bank Atm is d best -until proven otherwise. 5. Uber and Lyft are ur best friends. 6. Amazon baby registry is da bomb! 7. Use ur naija visa cards to buy stuffs, return and request cash refund. Dat way, u get dollars at Good rate in exchange for ur naira. 8. Ask for help anytime. 9. Pray. Pray. Pray. Have faith wen u pray! 10. Be confident you will succeed. pls kindly go back to the airport and do the needful at the bolded.thank you. |

Chanbaby, biko ooooo, pls you don't need all this stress abeg..pls pack your things and run to your SIL place..I remb when I was making arrangement for my wife's travel..i was telling a family friend that stayed in my place for almost three weeks when he came to Nigeria about our plans for my wife to give birth in America, he never encouraged me.he was saying all manners of things to discourage me.thinking that I will ask him to give my DW accommodation or support me.the way he was sounding, he is a nurse but when I asked him about hospital and the fees..if he will give me answers to that question, its probably tomorrow cos he never called me again since then.thank God that I discovered this E-family. You need to have a steady mind.people with different characters.don't pay attention to her attitude.just pack your things and run more then U.bolt...back to premier league game!!!! |

temmyo: Hello mummies and daddies. so I promised to post the rest of my bill which I started in part 4.
Hosp paed- 1,700 negotiated and paid 868 (includes hearing test) external paed- 50 per visit. 44 for babies vaccines (about 5 of them were given at 2 months)
Applied for babys naija passport and went for capture on tuesday. naijahouse passport people messed up with their usual printer not working story. was asked to come pick up the passport on friday and we were to leave for nigeria on thursday. bought self addressed envelope and submitted it instead. started processing visa on arrival and got it by evening of the next day.
Arik accepted the VOA letter from immigration without batting an eyelid. They didn't even ask to keep a copy. just verified it and gave it back to me. The guy who attended to us at the check in cou ter was God sent. He calmly took his time in checking us in with 4 bags for mom and I and 1 10kg for baby. also checked in car seat and stroller for free, as well as the base of baby's walker. (yes I carried the Walker o as somebody dashed me na I can't say no to freebies) was worried they were going to ask me to pay for it cos I wasn't allowed to tape to on to any of the bags. He just checked it in as part of the car seat stroller combo and that was it!
The flight was very good and fast! We made it in 10 hrs. captain apologised for arriving early sef it spoilt anyone's plans. no in flight entertainment as usual. food was good. babies were given a pack containing similac/apple sauce/apple juice/and one puree like dt. bassinet was available.
Thank God for provision, safe delivery and journey mercies. God bless you desoul for helping me stay calm while waiting for my contact to come through. thanks to sessibassi too for your help.
cheers everyone. welcome home dear..May God bless your LO amen. |
Yes o, immigration in Nigeria can be funny o, I read a story like two days ago where a woman wasn't allowed to fly with her children, her own children o they said because no consent letter from husband, the narrator of the story said woman was stressed and crying and they didn't even look her face at all.....
kudos to those immigration officials..Am proud of them..people sue immigration on daily basis cos of some decisions e.g do you kw that before you will get your baby naija passport now at abuja both parents consent letter and data pages will be attached..before it was not like that, but after they hard case of a woman who change her children's name on passport and ran away with them without the husbands consent..and with high level of child trafficking now, they did the right thing. |
