I'm smellin sth funny here. i have lived in Calabar for more than 10years but i'm not from cross river. 4get about all this silly comments we're makin- muslim terrorist, christian saviour and all the bullsh, t. let's think of this:
1. the cross river state govt recently banned the operations of commercial motor cyclist in Calabar urban of which 70percent were uneducated Akwa Ibomites(abt 60percent of Calabar residents r Akwa Ibomites, apart from visitors).
2. the govt also, thro the dept of public transport (DOPT), levied a huge some to all privately owned taxi operators such that they complained bitterly and even went on strike as a union (most of them r former okada riders).
3. the new Ibom intl airport was formerly operated by arik airlines, but out of misundrstandin wif govt, they withdrew (but i don't know how this is related, but let's also consider it. probably it'll aid our reasoning).
4. there's been a bit of face-off between Akwa Ibom and cross river state govt cos of the oil well issue that left them, i.e Akwa Ibom, the highest oil producer in the country. So, from the aforesaid, we MAY NOT engage ourselves in silly and unmerited tribal or sentimental talks abt this issue. this is a very serious one and as such, let's not make fun of it BUT REASON TOGETHER AS A PEOPLE. remember, we DONT HAVE ANY OTHER COUNTRY but NIGERIA. good day all

Hey guys, arsenal football club will return to action on tue 6th april @nou camp. they confronted the defending champions, barcelona some days ago. the match ended 2-2 at full time. what do you think's gonna happen on tue when the gunners, having faced a star-studded barca side @d emirates, hope to go through to the semi-final stage. Now that the first leg has been decided @d emirates, with arsenal's arshavin, galas and fabregas out. barcelona's ibrahimovic and iniesta unlikely, who'll carry the day on tue @ nou camp?

Thank you my brother , abeg ask this guy to name one progressive African or black nation on this planet. There is none because as a race all we do is think backwards.

From Haiti to Jamaica to Ghana to Uganda to South Africa. There is no single progressive black nation. South Africa which was once the only country blacks could be proud (because of disciplined white rule) is being destroyed slowly by the new black government because of massive unchecked looting of state funds.

It is because of catching fun that African never took HIV serious and now South Africa and Nigeria ranks highest in Hiv infections. It is because of catching fun that our schools have turned into cultism dens. It is because of catching fun that policemen shoot and kill innocent Nigerians without being prosecuted. It is because of catching fun that Christians and Muslims are hacking each other to death in jos. It is because of catching fun that Nigerian armed robber have the audacity to write letters to their potential victims informing them that they will be dropping by shortly.

I tire ooooooo , this yeye fun wey we dey catch sef ,what has it benefited us as Africans or as blacks huh

Until we stop for a second and admit that our heads are up our behinds ,we will never progress.
guy, nominate ur ministers and send to SAVE NIGERIA GROUP or to the senate. i pray ur request will be considered. meanwhile, i hate the words WE and US in ur reply. always say I. again, since u're a very serious-minded person, what've you done to change the country? I DON'T NEED UR REPLY!!!!

After reading most of the comments here, i can confidently say that being a Nigerian is a curse because i just realized that i belong to a country of buffoons. You guys always yap yap yap blaming the government but in reality it is we the Nigerians who are to blame for our woes.

Nigerians are the biggest morons on the planet, with all the so so grammar wey una dey speak for Nairaland, una no get common sense. All you idiots are willing to do is to continue to recycle old leaders. I give up on Nigeria, infact I give up on Africa and Africans!  sad

Our race is cursed for sure,we can't seem to reason progressively, all we do is shoot ourselves in foot over and over again.

The below diagram shows how far we as African have progressed as race ,maybe we should just hand Nigeria back to the Britain at least we will have some sort of discipline and common sense back in the country:
why don't you leave us to catch our fun if you're not a happy person? our leaders r bad, so? should WE die? i thought this forum is for Nigerians and friends of nigeria? does your comments reflect that of a well-wisher? is that how to help build nigeria if you so k? this guys never thot of d possibility of sending this to the acting president for consideration, they're just catchin their fun. in fact, You need to apologise to fellow Nairalanders for this comment, else . . .

The SNG cannot claim responsibilty or victory in all these, truth be said the SNG could scream frm now to next year and nothing wld happen. The only reason y it seems as though they are having an effect is because someone in power benefits from d actions taken

PoliticsIs The Save Nigeria Group Begining To Have A Say In The Country's Affairs? by detopshot(op): 7:53am On Mar 18, 2010
The SAVE NIGERIA GROUP (SNG), a coalition of civil society and human rights group, marched thro major streets in the capital city with a mock coffin which, according to them, signalled the death of a cabal believed to be holding the country to ransom. the group had several placards with various inscriptions, some of them read: 'Jonathan, be decisive now'; 'dissolve EXCOF now', 'on Uwais report we stand'; 'Turai, leave nigeria alone'. The uwais report on electoral reforms had recently been sent to the national assembly and just yesterday, another demand of theirs seems to have been met when the acting president dissolved the EXCOF. Earlier, the group demanded that the vice president be sworn-in as acting president in a similar protest. that was done by the national assembly. so on the basis of this recent development, i ask: IS THE SAVE NIGERIA GROUP BEGINING TO HAVE A SAY IN THE NATION'S POLITICAL DEVELOPMENT?

Nope. there wasn't an argument by any reasonable Chelsea fan. personally, i watched it and immediately iniesta lifted the ball from the flank, i almost fainted cos i saw the move and i knew it was gettin past cech. but let's see what happens tonight. i don't like the idea of forecasting the next match before we play this evening's game. remember what happened to s.chikens in one of the world cup outings? i like inter but i love Chelsea.
