(I find this analysis by Ebun Adegboruwa - SAN so objective. Though I personally consider all three to be an upgrade from Buhari docile government. But among these three one is worst of all, in fact, his words, lies and hypocrisy is so annoying to discerning minds. Please read and decide for yourself) THE GRAVE IMPLICATIONS OF APC MUSLIM/MUSLIM TICKET. 1. Others don’t matter. Shows absence of consideration for unity and plurality. 2. Desperation and over-ambition. We just want power at all costs and we don’t care what others think or do. 3. We can win the elections without you, especially by other means other than by open ballot. 4. It is a cruel affirmation of supposed superiority complex. That only one region determines electoral victory. That the presidential candidate of the APC is not acceptable to Northern Muslims. 5. It is an indication of a hidden agenda. The spirit of Hope 93 died with MKO and those who betrayed him and his mandate. May Boko Haram, terrorists and insurgents, their sponsors and sympathizers not win the 2023 elections. 6. That Nigeria is not a secular state but rather being ruled to satisfy certain religious tendencies. 7. That the APC has absolute control of the electoral system and thus electoral victory may not be determined through free, fair and credible elections. 8. That certain political tendencies and interests do not trust others to accommodate them if they are entrusted with power whereas they have been in power and accommodated by others. 9. That the APC presidential candidate has no mind of his own and he will be unable to defend the unity of Nigeria in crucial moments of decision making. 10. That the APC is incompetent to manage a complex nation like Nigeria with diverse interests, different tongues and tribes and consisting of different faiths. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN 12/07/2022. THE OMINOUS DANGERS OF AN ATIKU PRESIDENCY 1. Undue and unbridled desperation for power leads to ineffectiveness. This has been the case with Buhari and so it shall be with Atiku, who has lusted for power beyond human understanding. 2. In order to satisfy the political ambition of Atiku, PDP ate its own vomit, threw away its own Constitution and rejected decency and justice embedded in the power rotation doctrine. If PDP will not honour it’s own Constitution, how can it be trusted with the Constitution of Nigeria? 3. In seeking to succeed Buhari from the same Northern region, Atiku and his supporters do not believe in the plurality and unity of Nigeria. 4. In seeking to succeed Buhari who is a Muslim of the same faith with him, Atiku does not believe in the secularity of Nigeria as stated in our Constitution. 5. In rejecting the popular decision of the PDP Committee set up to select his Vice-Presidential candidate, Atiku has shown himself to be an incurable dictator, who may be worse than Buhari if trusted with power. 6. An Atiku presidency will translate to 16 years of unbroken presidency of the North, which will lead to more agitations and may snowball into disintegration. 7. An Atiku presidency will translate to 16 years of Muslim-Muslim presidency, which will facilitate more terrorist attacks, lead to marginalization of people of other faiths and likely increased persecution. 8. Having regard to our collective experience under the inglorious Obasanjo/Atiku regime, an Atiku presidency will translate into loss of national assets, mortgaging of our commonwealth and uncontrolled senseless capitalism, leading to poverty of the masses. Atiku cannot be the option for today’s Nigeria. I therefore all urge all people of good conscience to reject PDP and it’s leprous ticket. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN 12/07/2022 THE FUTILITY OF OBI/BABA-AHMED TICKET 1. They are usurpers with no legitimate party or structure, leveraging on their financial prowess to corner a ticket meant for genuine representatives of the working class. 2. They revel in parading dubious statistics, gathering a mob support without ideology or principle other than raw anger against the status quo, which their idols were part and parcel of. 3. The supposed anger of bourgeois renegades against their fellow capitalists can never result into any benefit for the masses that they have all wickedly trampled upon with glee. 4. What does Peter Obi offer or represent in present-day Nigeria other than ethnic and religious sentiments? Were those not the same factors that produced the error of the Buhari regime? 5. Are we not to rate aspirants in line with their track records? Or what exactly can we find for inspiration in Obi’s 8-year adventure in Anambra State? 6. Hajia Harira Jibril was gruesomely murdered in cold blood in Anambra State, yet the “peoples’ President” neither visited the family nor issue a single statement in condemnation. 7. Do we now hand over Nigeria to opportunists or inventors of commercial degrees? 8. Had the stained and leaking umbrella of the PDP shaded Obi, would he have ever emerged as the disgruntled representative of the disorganized “new movement”? 9. The Nigeria Labour Congress, promoters of Obi’s new-found Labour Party, has become a toothless entity, incapable of prosecuting any meaningful struggle since the advent of the APC administration, which has perfected the egregious style of persecuting or compromising all opposition strongholds. 10. The price for crass opportunism is a principled rejection of all its apostles and beneficiaries. 11. I cannot see the benefit for Nigeria in the Obi/Baba-Ahmed stillborn ticket, neither do I discern any marked difference between Atiku/Obi/Tinubu. In fact, a decamped or frustrated member of the oligarchy is worse than his masters. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN 12/07/2022 |
"they are NIGERIANS". That's the word! Until we fully understand and accept this reality, we won't get anywhere. Solutions can only work if you put the peculiarity of the problems into formulating it. We keep complaining about political leadership as if the leadership we have in families, villages, community associations, social clubs, trade unions, churches and mosques are different. Until we admit whom we are, we'll keep chasing shadows. HAVE A FULFILLED DAY. |
I can't believe a 'born again' will write this. You must be young both physically and spiritually to have this mindset. This is the type of mindset that make idol worshippers appear more loving than 'christians'. Have you heard of wounded soldiers before? Even when Jesus was tempted at Gethsemane, angels had to minister to Him. He that think he is standing should take heed less he falls. Shallom oldienavie: |
Maybe emotional.... Yes. But in real sense and political wise, Wike cannot defeat any of the declared or rumoured presidential candidates of APC. Tinubu is too far to be compared. Even if Tinubu is schemed out of APC ticket, PDP will be naive to field Wike against any APC candidate. It's a loss before election. PDP will stand a good chance in 2023 election if they are real and not emotional. No single Southerner who can defeat Tinubu in a free and fair election. If PDP choose a southern candidate, they've lost, no matter who APC is bringing forth. But as a president assuming there is no election Wike will do better than most Presidential candidates in all Political parties, his craze is so vital for Nigeria of today. If Nigeria is to move forward in real sense of it and being practical about our horrible corruption amongst the leadership and followership, some candidates will ruin us more than do good and most of them are good people but they way we are now, we don't need them (though most people won't agree and abuse me due to emotion, tribalism, political nativity and religious sentiments) : FAYEMI YAHAYA BELLO OSINBAJO PETER OBI MOGHALU SOWORE ANYIM BALA MUHAMMAD SARAKI TAMBUWA If any of these get to power, Nigeria will be better and some people from the above list will be desirable. ATIKU TINUBU WIKE ORJI KALU RESERVES DAVE UMAYI AMAECHI OKOROCHA You can disagree, but has emotion that made us enthroned people like Obasanjo, Jonathan, Yaradua and Buhari helped us as a nation? |
fergie001:Wrong! It was the national that appointed Dapo Abiodun, and also sat on the appeal after 'primary'. It wasn't a case of double or multiple primary like in Zamfara. Many state chapters always have dissenting voices, but it's the duty of the national secretariat to put all in check by settlement of the issue or stick with the legal chapter when it cannot broker peace. So it's buni issue. Governors are worst proplem of most political parties in Nigeria, but them to lead any party will always be counterproductive. |
FreeStuffsNG:They have a president that should have been wiser and saw ahead of time but he is more shortsighted than the 'demigod' governors. What Oshiomole was doing wasn't perfect but it was far better than how their party is almost crippled now. Most politicians are always shortsighted. Just today's interest and nothing more. Their party will likely lose in 2023(if yeye PDP and others put their acts together) not because of sleeping buhari poor performance (afterall non-performing PDP won many times) but because the buhari is poor in party politics just like he is poor in governance. |
When a Nigeria governor is speaking with so much passion and sounding like an activist, just know it is not about the people, if it is not politics, ego or show off, then it must be about money. Believe them and be fooled. These people have none of our interest at heart. Akeredolu of Ondo and Masari of Kastina....also took decisions similar to tout sounding Wike. Governors are more Covid 19 than Bubu sef. |
I want to write, my hands are itching to write, albeit in elementary words that commentators and likers can understand. But I've been instructed by a better person than I am to shut up in order to see some perspectives I've never for once envisaged. And I cannot disobey. So much for elementary words. How about knowing how many grains make up a kilogram of rice❓ Idleness can bring crazy ideas. STAY SAFE PEOPLE....GOD will come through in the end for the world. |
Why not petition your governor, rep, senator, senate, house of rep, i.g, governor, past president etc.? I feel irritated with our slave mentality when we always run to those who are part of the nation woes and who cannot even help the case in any way. UK prevailing on Nigeria government? Funny coming from a lawyer. I think there is more to this, because the lawyer himself brought two angles to it, Emeka offor and Ipob. Though he tried to connect the two but it didn't connect well. But we all know police in Nigeria are legend when it comes to brutality and illegallity. Police, will be found culpable sure, but there is still more to this. |
I can understand your dilemma perfectly especially the terrain angle to it. My take is this, you need him for stability a little more time. So call him now, put all the cards on the table, let him know how its possible for you to stand on his way yet he wont know. Make a deal with him, based on experience, I know such people are natural workaholic. Cut a deal with him to assist you, even when promoted, there is a way he can still help you meet your target for a short while. All the best! |
Kemi have a way of always touching the brains of many "smart" Nigerians. I told people around me and even on her page that this is where she will land in the end. Immediately the news broke out, she started reeling out her "achievements" as an investigative journalist, how she started this and that blablabla... Instead of just celebrating kiki's success. I know a bad belle when I see or hear one. I said she will directly attack Kiki in days to come and here we are. For those saying the bad belle is making some sense, ask yourself. *Who is Kiki mordi? *Is she her real name or pseudo name? *Where is she from? *Where is she based? *Where is she now? *Can you recognise her in Ariara market? *Can you identify her if you see her on iweka road? And the bad belle "who is making sense" knows for sure she is in Nigeria presently? With the "arrogant" flavour in the words is showing your Aunty is just bad belle...QED |
Richdad50:Unfortunately as it sounds, you are very correct. One just need to forgive such people and ignore them afterwards, nothing good comes out a gun. |
Can you imagine nonsense! Like this thing don't happen? Even in families this issue is rampant but they are often covered. |
Whether timi and wife are Saint or not is not the issue. The issue is the allegation that he took advantage of an underage, whom he is supposed to care for. Let him confirm or debunk the allegation. |
This is what you get when you make people like Reno your leader. Does he actually know what constitute a rape? So uninformed and unreasonable angle. This is not to say it's true or not...let hear other side. But to say the story is unbelievable, that's sheer ignorance. I have counselled many victims like this and I know how the story sounds like. |
I'm just wondering if a poor man that is accused of killing a fowl(whether it's true or not) will get this type of privilege! If it's poor man almost everyone will say 'go with the police first'............ Our ruling class are simply lawless and hypocritical. If the police is bad they made it bad, so they should fix the police. |
As usual, party politics, ethnic and religious sentiments will fill the discussion instead of issues. I don't know the role of the woman and the purpose of the committees Inec set up. Because I know the Inec chairman is returning officer for the presidential election, so he is automatically the chief collating officer. Until I know why the three committees are set up, I won't make an informed comments. I can't let people that have all their close family members abroad, turn me to a robot who just jump on the band wagon. People who don't feel or know the pain of the common man, now turning the same common man to their spokesperson. People just need to wake up and be wise, non of these people feel your pain. |
This is how bad politics and sentiments has taken us to in this country. I pray social media will not turn to a curse for this country. Someone with wife/wives, children and relatives is still in the devil's belly and all form of theories is already being postulated. Even by those who should be sensible and sensitive to the such issues. We have reduced the value of life to politics, tribalism and religious sentiments. |
