Signing in on this thread finally...

Kudos to everyone who played a part in its resuscitation; the aspirants who had to draw our ogas back here, as well as the ancestors who have taken some of their time to post and update us as regards what life offers over there.

By God's grace, I'll be very much available to learn, as well as contribute the little I know so far until our prayers are finally answered, then I can contribute full scale.

Nairaland has been a place of encouragement for me, back from all the times I wrote jamb and all, and I'm sure this journey won't be different.

Cheers to everyone.

Please I have some questions..

1. For some who resides in Abuja, does he still need to do his Visa interview in Lagos?..

2. Assuming I applied to different schools and I get an admission for a particular school and get an interview date, can I change my choice to another better school before my interview date... Because I applied to different schools and I intend to book an appointment immediately I receive admission from any school so assuming a better offer comes up, can I still change before Interview date..

I'm applying for Winter Semester

Please guys, help a brother huh
For your second question, since the booking online doesn't involve submission of admission letter, use any of your choice to attend the interview.

They say that even when you get your visa, and you prefer to go to another school you were admitted, you're free to.

What course are you applying for?

What instructions were given on the course website concerning application?

Please anyone with info on how long it takes to deliver to Uni-Assist via:

1. Nipost
2. DHL/UPS

and the respective costs (on average)?

Thanks
I've used DHL twice to send my documents.

The first one I sent in February took 2 days. I sent on Monday morning, and the recipient picked it up on Wednesday afternoon.
I sent the second one today, and the man said if there's no public holiday in Germany on Monday, that it would be received on Monday, if there will be, then Tuesday morning.

I've not used other courier services.

Guys, in your search for a school and course of study in this German study endeavour, i want to recommend that you dont limit your search to daad.de and masterportal alone.

Go to Google and search for "universities in Germany" and enter the Wikipedia result. Wikipedia sorts German universities by alphabets, date of establishment and regions (Nort, South, East and Western Germany).

Choose the method of organization you want and search one after the other. I chose the alphabetical method coz it has more listing - 87 schools!

You may think this method is tedious and time-consuming.,m But it is not as bad as it seems. If you know what you want, you should be through with searching through a school in 20mins max. Ensure to bookmark any course or school that tickles your fancy so that you would come back to read it up in more details later.

A major advantage of this method is that, by the time you are through, you would have done a comprehensive and exhaustive search, i am sure. Anything wey u no see for there, u no fit see am for another place.

I just started this method and i love what i am seeing. My wishlist is just growing. Summer 2020 go hear am ...lol
Thank you for recommending this to others.

After I had combed daad well, I turned to Wikipedia and opened all universities in Germany one after the other. It didn't even take me up to 10 mins to scan a school's website, find their English taught masters and see if I have any I'm qualified for.

By the time I got to the last school on the list, my jotter received a lot of new stuffs that weren't on daad.

It might be data and time consuming as you said, but it's worth it big time!

Considering that my transcripts should carry the address of the school that I am sending it to but is carrying the address of my company cos I want to collect it myself .My question now is that I want to go to the embassy and certify it,won't that address be a problem, what is the best way to go about it.@fabcol
The address on your transcript doesn't matter in your application.
As regards certification, so far it's a true copy of the original, it will be certified for you

Graduates of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy

This is for you.

MSc Molecular Science at FAU Erlangen-Nurnberg.

Online application, then you post certified copies to the school.

Good side: The admission is non-restricted

Downside: FAU sends admission letters very late. Sometimes, 1 month to enrolment

So, don't depend on it for your visa application.

If you're later chosen and you like the program and school, then you can port there.

I'm happy to be here.

Got two admissions in one University( University of Hohenheim Stuttgart) for the winter semester 2019, they have also sent the softcopy od the admission letter and I have already acknowledged one but haven't started with the visa process. Still hoping to hear from the University of Bremen, University of Siegen and Gottingen as these other Universities are Tuition-Free.

For a while now my status at the University of Bremen has been showing (application has been formal checked). Please, can someone explain what this means and what are my chances.
Congratulations on your admissions.

As regarding Bremen, if your application has been formally checked, it means it is under processing.
Mine is also like that. The application has been received and is being processed. Just chill till they start rolling out letters.

Start processing your visa interview with the admission letter you already have. The earlier, the better.

Hello everyone, please I have a few questions
1. the school i want to apply to requires IELTS and the application deadline is July 15, do you think I can be able to prepare and write (and pass) the exam before the deadline?
2. The school has 2 courses i wish to apply for, can I apply for 2 courses in the same school?
Thanks
I don't know much about IELTS and the application window.

As regards your second question, please confirm if your school allows multiple applications.
Schools like University of Bremen do not allow multiple applications. Go through the online portal well, if you're not yet clear, send a mail to the coordinators of the courses you're applying for and see their responses

Open it on a PC, and type directly on it.

Note that you might not be able to save what you have typed, so only type when you're ready to print.
Immediately you're done with filling the form, connect the PC to a printer and print out.

I have been following this thread for a while now.
Congrats to the successful applicants. Na money still Dy hold us.
Please will 3 months be enough to round up both applying and getting the visa, so long as the block account is complete?
I want to apply for November session.
I'm getting my documents certified at the moment, and transcript from school.
Most schools open Application for winter in April. So you have to double up to send your application. Most deadlines are July 15. If you can get an admission letter on or before then, even after then, book appointment for interview. If successful, your AM will come in 4-6 weeks.

Everything go pass 3 months o

Modified
I just understood your question. From the day of your interview till you'll get your visa shouldn't be up to 3 months.

Give a space of 6 weeks max for AM
And 1 week for your visa to be stamped

That's approximately 2 months
