[s]A UK-based civil society organisation, Citizens United for Peace and Stability, CUPS, said on Friday it is gathering facts about the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, in a bid to ask the UK Government to revoke his British citizenship.

Kanu is a dual citizen of the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

According to the Convener of CUPS, Dr. Idris Ahmed, the move seeking the revocation of Kanu’s British citizenship was connected to alleged acts of “terrorism perpetrated by IPOB, including the recent attacks on Northerners living in the Southeast.”

“Beyond any doubt, IPOB is a terrorist organisation. I have watched so many video clips on Facebook in which Nnamdi Kanu talked about mobilising weapons and financial resources to wage war against the Nigerian State, Ahmed said in a Facebook post.

“The CUPS organisation has started compiling evidence to pass to the British Government to strip Nnamdi Kanu of his UK citizenship.

“Under a new law, over 100 UK citizens who went overseas to commit acts of terrorism or fight for ISIS have been stripped of their citizenship by the Home Secretary (Minister of Internal Affairs).

“Nnamdi Kanu perfectly falls into this category,” he said.

I set out in the morning yesterday, going to get tyres for my car when I went to the popular sabon gari market to meet my brothers who happen to be my customer at the same time. They all wore sad and sullen faces. They spoke mostly in undertones and in our language. It was obvious they were hit by the crisis in the east. I told kenechukwu who happens to have a warehouse in Ibadan road, sabon gari to give me Belgium tyres. As we walked into the warehouse, this conversation ensued:

Me: When are you back?
kene: (knowing fully well what I meant but wanted to act ignorant) to where?
Me: to the east of course.
kene: Tell them there to stop formenting trouble because it is affecting us more than them.
Me: How many investment do you have in kano here.
kene: Quite a number of investment and houses. Most for rent but I have built a home in the east. So that you will not say I have been totally lost.
me: how many years have you been in kano?
Kene: 27years. (He looked at me intensely and said). Why are you asking?
Me: I have not finished my questions. Do you plan to settle your kids in the north?
Kene: I don't plan to but if they find a business to do here, I can't stop them.
Me: So you mean your major attachment to this place is the money.
kene: Yes, I am only here because of my business which was lacking bytes in the east. Since I came to kano in the 90's, my business have grown tremendously.
Me: How can we push you back to the east?
kene: Evaluate my assets, pay me in cash, I will follow you back to the east.

We continued having this conversation and some other traders came to join us. The tyres I went to buy was kept in my car while i sat with them to talk. These were the points I got from them:

1. The Igbo's in the east are selfish. They make trouble without minding the ripple effect its having on them and their customers.
2. Since Nnamdi KANU, Igbo's have been having difficulty cajoling the rich northerners to buy their products. They had to assure them that they are not in support of the uprising in the east.
3. Easterners want them to come back but they have not told them what they want them to do for them in the east.
4. Its easier for them to come home if the economy of the east is big enough and more profitable. One of them wanted to start a manufacturing company in the east but it didn't work out.

[s]The Adamawa State Governor, Muhammadu Bindow on Friday assured Igbos residing in the state of their safety.

Bindow said his government would use all apparatus at its disposal to protect the lives and property of people residing in the state irrespective of their tribe or religion.


He said Igbos should feel free to carry out their normal business activity as they were at home.

The governor gave the assurance while meeting with heads of security outfits and Igbo community in Yola, the state capital.

Bindow also stated that the crisis between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Nigerian Military on the South East is not in the interest of the country.

According to Bindow, “Adamawa people are peace loving citizens, what is going on in the South East is not in the interest of the good people of the region.


“Therefore, I am calling all South East citizens especially Igbos residing in all parts of Adamawa to feel free and continue with their normal business activities as they are safe and at home.”

The President-General of the association, Chief Ebenezer Chima, made the position of the association known at a joint news conference in Kano on Friday.

“We want to state categorically here that we, the Igbos residing and doing business in Kano state, unequivocally state that we dissociate ourselves from the activities of IPOB and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

“We are strongly advocating for peace and unity in the land,” Chima said.







While condemning “in its entirety’’ the unfortunate and avoidable crisis in Abia, he called on all Igbos resident in the state to remain calm as nothing would happen to them.

According to him, the state government under the leadership of Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje and security agents have given the assurance of adequate security of our lives and property.



“However, we join the South-East governors, the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo and other notable Igbo leaders, to ask the Federal Government to address the issues of equality and even distribution of our common wealth.

“This, we believe will bring an end to these agitations in the country.’’

On his part, President of Ethnic Community Leaders Association (ECLAK) in the state, Dr Jimpat Ayelangbe, assured all non-indigenes of adequate security of their lives and property.





He said that the assurance stemmed from the meetings they had with various leaders and security agencies in the state.

“ECLAK got the mandate to speak to the media by allaying fears of our people over the concern of their lives and property.

“ECLAK is interested in a united Nigeria because we believe that those not living in their states of origin should not contribute to disorganise the country.’’

Ayelangbe commended the Northern states governors and their South-East counterparts and leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had constituted committees on restructuring.

He called on his members and other Nigerians to avoid hate speeches in order to foster national unity.

While their brethren are being slaughtered by the barbaric brain dead IPOB terrorists in the South East, the Almajiris/Mallams/Abokis/Hausas/Fulanis and other Northern tribes living in Kano decided to hold a solidarity rally, espousing for peaceful co-existence with their Ndigbo brothers and sisters.

In these pictures, the Northern youth are seen wearing Igbo attires, carrying banners and singing Igbo songs. This has never happened before in Kano! In past years, Kano and other parts of Northern Nigeria would have erupted in retaliatory attacks.

It is evidently clear that we as a nation have made progress. Suddenly, the "primitive" Almajiris/Mallams/Abokis/Hausas/Fulanis and other Northerners, who allegedly have no degrees and can't speak English, are now teaching the rest of "educated" Nigerians on citizenship, humility, humanity and peaceful coexistence. ​to weaken Nnamdi Kanu and his group, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) before he returns from the trip he is set to embark on Sunday.

​He will​ join other world leaders at the welcoming reception to be hosted by the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, and also hold a bilateral meeting with the UN scribe.

​The​ Nigerian leader ​is billed to have a a lunch meeting with President Donald Trump of the United States of America, along with other world leaders.

​Buhari, who will be accompanied by the governors of Zamfara, Ebonyi and Ondo States, and key cabinet ministers, will transit through London on his way back to the country.

​Although it is still unclear how long the president will be away, DAILY POST gathered on Friday that he spoke to the nation’s security chiefs earlier in the week.

The president, angered by the audacity of IPOB in declaring that they were ready to fight Nigerians ordered the military to move in and quell their violent clamour.

The military made the declaration in a statement on Friday by the Director of Defence Information, John Enenche.
Clashes between soldiers on a military operation and IPOB members in Abia State have left several people wounded. Although there have been reports of deaths particularly of IPOB members, none has been confirmed.
IPOB and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu are campaigning for an independent country of Biafra made up of ethnic Igbos. Although they had said their campaign was non-violent, Mr. Kanu said this week that that stance would be reviewed, accusing the military of attacking unharmed members of his organisation.
PREMIUM TIMES also reported how the police in Abia State blamed IPOB for the burning of a police station in Aba, where a dusk to dawn curfew has since been imposed.
In his statement, Mr. Enenche, a major general, listed five reasons the military considered for labelling IPOB a terror group.
These include “The formation of a Biafra Secret Service, claimed formation of Biafra National Guard, unauthorised blocking of public access roads; extortion of money from innocent civilians at illegal road blocks, and militant possession and use of weapons (stones, molotov cocktails, machetes and broken bottles among others) on a military patrol on 10 September 2017.”

The Nigerian army has dealt with us. They have showed us superiority in the most brutal ways. In the past few days, ndigbo in Abia have suffered. They have been killed kicked and injured. They have been flogged. My pain is that only a few have suffered for the dreams of many. But we have handled them well!
We are not terrorists or militants. They showed superiority but we showed them maturity. The Ndigbo agitating for a sovereign Biafra under the IPOB upon all the brutality refused to take to arms as a group. We have shown determination and focus to a common goal. But no, he was quiet. His home was surrounded by Military vagabonds shooting about because unlike the FG, IPOB under his leadership is mature enough to know that the battle front should be in court of law with each party defended by learned men using the constitution as weapon and not on the streets with riffles and clubs.
Above all this evil done against us for fighting for our right. A right to self determination. We have failed to let them win.
