myjoy08: Sister Mercy, as i said the patient dog will surely eat the fattest bone. I can authoritatively say that Oando will surely make many people smile (Not far at all at all). And any investment right now in Oando will never go wrong as usual. Please this is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Do your due diligence. I have a few recommendation of stock if only some people can take a look at it... Happy weekend to you all. Once again, be patient!Keywords... ![]() |
Toluway: Go on master. Open the lid. Give us the inklin of the process. I hereby request you to kindly introduce us into, as well as mentor us into this novelty and probably a golden dispensation. All i can say for now is to tell fellow traders to expect another bull prior to the release of third qquarter results. That is the logical sequence. The Ogas, no vex say i dey talk oHehehe...Tolu make we dey watch. We live in exciting times really. |
nitrogen: Nice, gbogbo options, forwards, FRAs ati credit derivatives........OTC don do us!We need to liquefy this economy. Really. |

nitrogen: Quiet market, local traders and investors are shitties jare, PFAs, AM firms are all liver-less, they prefer to make kills in the bond market, always employing the same strategy week in week out. I dey vex!My oga, we need an inclination toward a smarter gambling mentality in our local markets. We need to take speculation to the second order at least; we need to be able to speculate on the prices of the stocks with other instruments and leave the old guns to keep speculating on the businesses with stocks. We need financial derivatives. |

miftpulse: The game played on the exchange is with background or presumed psychology of what traders or investors are likely to do in immediate,3month and up to a year with a particular stock. The poker table helps in mastering swings in emotions which culminate in actions, I don't know if the online game avails you that. Fear plays a great role on the exchange and I think it's something you can exploit in making profit:FBNH post SLS saga was a wonderful experience. This is simple my oga. A man will express his fear or greed by the size of his bet and his betting patterns. Of course he can also 'create' a false signal with his bet size especially, causing other players to misread situations. In poker, I could hold pocket aces (the strongest pair) and slow-play it, giving you the impression that I've got a low-probability winning pair. Ecobank recently played this out when they 'slow-played' their earnings release, causing a major sell off (bet size), only for smart dudes to jump in at that point (bet size), indicating prescience. Next came the very good quarter earnings release plus board reshuffle, sending the stock to new highs (bet size), all bet sizes constituting a bet pattern. In all these, all a speculator sees is data which he'll have to work with and build into a model with as many degrees of freedom as possible. |
miftpulse: Gambling being an act and not science, I believe it's better learnt by real life experience rather than simulation. Remember Kenny Rogers song "Gambler";you need the ecstasy, fear, eye movement to fully master the act.I understand your misgivings sir. Consider that you're also playing the investing/speculation game without seeing the other players...only bet sizes. |
miftpulse: Federal palace hotel on my mind, I still have a lot to learn at the poker table, I heard they have a world class casino there. The Internet also affords you the same gambling scenario with the same risk/reward characteristics. You can buy chips online for as low as $0.99 and start playing real time with many players who are online too. In this case, it's the betting patterns of the other players that you use as your offense/defense indicator, since you can't see them physically. No game (not even chess) mimics more the real world business of investing and speculation as poker does. |
miftpulse: Federal palace hotel on my mind, I still have a lot to learn at the poker table, I heard they have a world class casino there. They do sir. Ikeja Hotel too. ![]() |
Dexterax: Knowledge has never been enough. The smartest investors acknowledge that this is all a game. And so they play it as such, obtaining exponential results in the process. Also notice that these smart guys think and talk about it all in terms of a game. Buffet talks about looking at the entire game and not at the scoreboard. Simmons implements the mathematics of gambling in his strategies. Tony Elumelu even used the term "cowboy" (who routinely engage in duels) on a Bloomberg interview the other day. Look well and you see the same thread running through all of them; they all have the game/right gambling mentality and the necessary risk calibration. |
miftpulse: Sir, as much as trading can get your fingers burnt beyond recognition(CHAMS,INTEGENINS,WAPIC are part of my experience), so also can make you win big(OANDO,MRS,CONOIL,FBNH during SLS saga). Sometimes you compare your 10 years yield on regular trading and it beats 10years yield on so called "long term investment";not minding the risk of a coy you're invested in being delisted, bottle necks encountered in claiming rights, dividends and bonuses. You spend so much time reading management's structure, market share, looking forward statements but at the end you still get played.Knowledge has never been enough. The smartest investors acknowledge that this is all a game. And so they play it as such, obtaining exponential results in the process. |
"And it came to pass that 21st century prophets departed from the tradition of their fathers, who comforted the downcast investors during bearish periods and downturns. Instead they coveted properties and women with conspicuous assets in the highbrow Ikoyi area and only appeared and posted on investor forums during bull runs." ![]() |
hehehe...I remember seeing this C&I Leasing in some phoney recommendations. Back then, just as now, laff wan tear my belle. What a rude awakening! Only the share reconstruction by Unity Bank will rival this shenanigan. ![]() |
presiade: Told you not to shout o...Bruv no vex...I don soft. ![]() |
@nitrogen... I'm not sure but a lot of breweries are now incorporating a latent premium in their prices really. Factor in the size of the Nigerian beer market and you could justify that as a premium which would exist since such small breweries could become easy M&A targets. My thoughts. In between I read that the American brewer Bacardi is heading to Naija soon. Is a game of acquisition in play? I dunno bruv. |
Agbalowomeri: This thread is bearish!Wetin u go type about the fake anger dem dey display for SMN State of the Nation thread? Hiohiohiohio ![]() |
