I was expecting this result to be released on Friday. The dudes at Forte keep over-delivering.

Disclosure: I own substantial units of this stock.

Oga Dexter, can you throw more light on that phrase "market maker" wrt Stanbic IBTC bank.
A market maker tries to "make" a market (and a profit in the process) from the difference between the bid and offer values for a security. So they BUY & SELL the security based on this difference, with profit-making as their primary motive and the thriving of the market for that security as a secondary motive.

My brother, I rejoice with you! Every stock has its day o, just be wary and know when to alight. Remember, you never really know how much you're going to make until you sell. May your joy not be short lived, or cut short by an advert in the Guardian.

I'd suggest you go ahead and exploit the opportunities yourself. Make the money and come and show us your profit/loss as evidence.

I'll calculate the autocorrelation coefficients for this stock to be sure it still has those anomaly properties I discovered last year. Then I'll post my chart for the stock here.

My oga, good day.

There was nothing wrong with the movement in the price of both stocks today. Maybe you should present your concern in figures so I can explain.

For the records, the previous close of 7up was 147.73, the ref price at today's session was 155.11. Though the stock traded at a high of 162.86 during the continuous trading session, the trading band for the day was between 147.35 and 162.86 - 5% down and up the ref price.

For UBCAP, it has a previous close of 2.15, ref price today was unchanged at 2.15, and the trading band was between 2.05 and 2.15 - 5% down and up the ref price.
Now this is a stock that's being mopped up at crazy rates by institutional investors and pension funds.

If there'll be any significant oxygen volumes in the days ahead, please be advised that it's no longer the institutional dudes who are mopping up at obscene rates, it's now the Swiss/Italian Cosa Nostra.

Also be advised that this mafioso crew will employ institutional proxies to make this happen. The only accruals to the institutional proxies, of course, would be commissions and fees.

stock4life:
Oil prices are harder to move because crude trades more globally than natural gas, according to Stephen Trauber, vice chairman and global head of energy at Citigroup in Houston. While oil can be carried on ships, trucks and pipelines, gas has to be frozen before it can cross oceans.

Crude prices might not fall enough to shut in production. About 70 percent of U.S. reserves would remain economic with global prices at $75 a barrel, according to Wood Mackenzie, an industry consultant based in Edinburgh.

OPEC also may prevent further declines because members need high prices to support social spending. Saudi Arabia needs $87.63 a barrel to balance its budget, compared with $66.50 for the United Arab Emirates and $92.96 for Iraq, the International Monetary Fund estimates.
This is interesting.

In other words, the lower a producing country's benchmark is, the more flexible that country's fiscal dynamics and the higher the budget benchmark price, the smaller the number of degrees of freedom to do anyhow. We generally underestimate the extremity of commodity price shocks. A good reference point should be a reverse scenario of the 1979 Oil Crisis.

It is not completely over for fidelity bank because fidelity bank is a reserve bidder for Enterprise bank which Heritage bank won, but the question now is that can Heritage bank afford to cough out 44 billions naira on or before 13/10 /2014 ?. yes I believe that the politicians that are behind Heritage bank can afford the money but would they , in an election year ?.yes they might have the money but the dilemma could be, if we pay the money what will we use to fund our re- election. I think without fidelity bank acquiring any bank, fidelity bank still fundamentally sound. please don't quote me any where as your DD are required. and also note that I am a share holder of both fidelity bank and skye bank. thanks.
Good disclosure there bruv.

As for Heritage being able to pay the residual percentage of the consideration total for Enterprise Bank under the current election cycle, you can be sure this will be managed well. The lawyers, accountants and so forth will work overtime on this matter; the necessary commercial/legal instruments will be employed and those that are not presently in existence will be called forth. Also make room for one or two forward-looking paragraphs going forward.

Finance is probably one of the most flexible businesses ever.
