Nice tips.

See how empty the thread is all because it has to do with tech stuffs.
Majority of Nigerians hardly engage in intellectual conversations. Drop topics like the list below:

Tonto Dike bares her body
Snake I killed (bla bla bla)
Wizkid is broke
10 things this, 20 things that
Etc...

and see them swarm over likes bees to a beehive.

These are valid areas that most companies omit or boycott because of the smooth running of their business not knowing that some people are looking for loopholes on their system.

Nice work op.

May this administration serve out her time quickly so reasonable people can get on board.

No to simpletons in government, if the oil companies can afford to get the very best in terms of personnel and captains (leadership) then why can't our country's leadership cum highest office in the land be occupied by the very very very best.
Hmmm...

Leadership is a big problem in Nigeria honestly. When you even start from the basic unit of the community: the family you will shudder at what parents inculcate into their wards.

I remember those names wella. BOB SATAN used to carry a stainless pistol to school. Remember 'Ebu Agba' the DM? That guy can flog the hell out of your coconut head. He was an Igbo teacher.Mr Nwogu the mathematics teacher, was another terrorist those. Those guys can remould ones destiny with their canes. I wonder in retrospect what those were thinking those days. I guess it was a case of transferred agression of pent up frustration from military government. Anyway those days are gone.
Guy your head is there wella. I remember them sadistic teachers wella. It was the days of Ike Nwosu nah so everyone was as frustrated as you could imagine. Reply my pm so we don't derail the thread. My guess is that we might know each other. I dey keep low profile because of lipsrsealed

Where do you know in Aba? I know Port-Harcourt road like the back of my hand. I schooled at National High School, Aba for 6 years. As at the late 90s, that road had been unmotorable. Uratta junction, Ojoto and Umuagbai sections of the roads were known as isimiri due to the massive pool of water at those areas.
Hi obyrich if you an alumni of NHS, the names Bob Satan, Dark MC should ring a bell to you. I sent a pm to you.

The Governor is passionate about public private partnership so I believe he may leave waste management to the private sector. Who knows??
Food for thought. Let's see how it goes. Ciao.

The state and federal government are responsible for maintaining existing structures (roads). If the state government cannot maintain state roads and asks a private company to do it and toll it. Would you pay?
Anyway, hopefully this model city will trigger the State government to improve its existing cities.
When I referred to existing structures, I wasn't implying only roads. Basic infrastructure like the ones you mentioned: refuse. The government can decide to map out a portion of the state for waste disposal/management. An individual can't do it lest the owners of the land lynch him or her to death.

The area you where mentioning is likely not to roads only but housing et al. So roads is a major problem not the only problem.

Aba is to the East as Lagos is to the West albeit without a seaport. People used to come from the North to get materials for clothing et al but no longer the case because of the roads.

I concur with you on the point of the residents and their manner of approach wrt refuse disposal. It's a culture thing and not necessarily governmental but the government has to put measures in place for moving refuse/waste at the right time.

Lastly I'm not from Abia but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be concerned. I have friends there so I visit the town once in a while.

Hmmm...I didn't know that Aba was in such a deplorable state. However I have good news for Abians and in the coming days/weeks/ months you may get to hear of it. You will have an opportunity to live in a modern city with every amenity you can think of. I was part of a group of investors and we met with your governor this evening in Abuja. We are proposing to build an new city between Aba and Umuahia... it is a 580 hectare development in Nsulu and it will be world class with all infrastructure plus hotel, parks, fire station, a golf course and all the works. I would like to get some feedback from Abians here. Is this a welcome project and would you live here if completed?
That's a good idea on paper though. My questions for you are these:

1. What happened to maintaining existing structures before creating new ones?

2. Who is the owner of this project? ABSG or Okezie Ikpeazu or the consortium that will carry out the project?

Because I don't see how this addresses the roads that are very bad at the moment, albeit Aba's problem is majorly the roads.

Think about this, lest you start creating a section where the rich can stay and leave the poor masses to suffer.

You are right. Will to die for a cause can make one act crazy atimes. The insecurity over there is just too alarming. I always put those over there in prayers.

I know we have a responsibility. But one person can't do it alone. But I'm curious why he's quiet now, after he has given his vote of confidence to this administration. huh
I'm against the violence in this country, although it's not affecting me directly. I live in the SS and the herdsmen are not attacking us but I can't fold my arms. I'm playing my own part but how many people are willing to help out ?
Many people are ready to help out but with what guarantee that their fight won't be in vain.

Just like Thomas Jefferson said "the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants"

i do know what it means
And it did happen..the MNJTF base in Bama and and a base in monguno was ransacked once in 2015..also military base in baga was almost overun in 2014 before they were repelled
That means personnel was low during the time of attack else how can one explain untrained ragtag guerrillas dismantling a military base? Is there an insider or what?

You are missing the point. I'm not saying he should fight Buhari. You guys are always quick to defend Buhari's government and anything concerning him.
Bros, sorry to bust your bubbles but theVoice made a lot of sense with his post. I'm not a politician neither do I support the wanton killings. Infact some of the people that voted the current administration are also complaining.

theVoice made a valid point: Prof is old haba, pity the man nah. At that age he should be going to owambès and drinking palmwine. He has paid his dues.

What exactly are you and me doing to be the next Pa Tai Solarin, Prof. Wole Soyinka, et al?

The current crop of youths are either lazy or backstabbers. If I tell you the story of my struggle against lecturers before I graduated, you will relate why everyone is afraid to start anything. Your acquaintances are the ones that will succumb to fear and show the authorities your family to be dealt with.

Let's keep watching. If anyone wants Wole Soyinka to say anything, all the 60+ should also brought along for the protest.

PS: I'm not supporting girls either. Like someone said regarding this matter, both sides of the divide have their stories to tell.

I will finally get over it one day.... Love kip my private life to myself, ppl judge a lot...
Some, most people not all. I understand. I've dated someone who experienced beating and rape from the ex sometimes even having a baby for the guy. So I know how you feel but at the same don't keep it to yourself. Problems told are half solved. You are quite young judging by one of your responses to someone, you will get it over it. Caution though: don't reciprocate to innocent fellows. You never can tell a person that will bring a change to your life.

Love is a wonderful gift.
