By virtue of the rumour trending on social networks as regards Resumption and Cancellation of a Session.

I will like to bring to your notice that it is FALSE.

Reasons:
First and foremost,
The management of Obafemi Awolowo University will always have a manner of approach in her release.
That is, "The management of University wishes to inform the General Public and Students of the University Community..."
This is because the University Community do not belong to Students alone.
Secondly, the management of the University cannot afford to discard a semester. No person or body will never wish to labour in vain as ASUU will not agree with such decision and more so ,that will mean another examination being conducted for a course you have done before.
I have never heard of students retaking a course they did not carry over .
At that, it is not possible.

On the issue of E-portal giving ambiguous command when students log in.
Something like this came up in 2014 when the Management shut down the University.
There were speculation that the University management wants to merge two sessions which would have ushered in 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 resuming together.
It was regarded as a rumour and it remained FALSE as resumption date was later announced.
The management can cancel 2014/2015 session and introduce 2015/2016 session to balance the Academic Calendar which will in no way affect a semester or the Students.
The portal may be under upgrade as regards that.
Let's put our mind at peace and have it as the News is FALSE.
We will not hesitate to update you on Monday as regards Resumption date.
