I know there are bad nurses, we have also had encounters with them, worked with some, etc. I believe it all boils down to personality, I have met and worked with wonderful nurses and some bad eggs. I am a good nurse myself.
Some people just have that bad personality, I wonder why they chose nursing then. An impatient and temperamental person can't make a good nurse. People seem to capitalize on the bad ones though, plus the media seems to promote negative things about nursing and nurses. Sometimes the workload gets to some people which can make them flip and like someone said some patients and relatives like to test one's patience.
'Like I once had a patient whose relative came with all intent to frustrate the nurses, any little thing or request, she becomes rude. She later told the matron she has heard nurses are rude (that stereotype), and has come prepared for us. We all ignored her and when she saw how we related with her relative and all, she calmed herself down and came to apologise). And the ITK relatives too, like one that was telling us not to administer diclofenac for her mum that it makes her sleep and that she prefers diazepam. Stuffs like that.

Because it still registers erroneously in many Nigerian minds that nurses aren’t good people.And this comes mainly from warped understanding of what nurses go through and what sacrifices they make sometimes,unknown both to patients and relatives just to see that you are alive.

Respect nurses.They keep you alive

Women are favored with jobs?? In case you haven't noticed, any job that required actual TECHNICAL skills or CRITICAL thinking are supposedly left for the men while women become Make up artist, beauty pageant contestants, secretary and the likes. I do not consider those favorable.

In case you missed it, an assumption I made was a thriving economy!

You are not a woman so I do not expect you to easily empathize with what they have to suffer when they have to BEG or ASK someone else for almost every thing.

You can dismiss expression for all I care but I believe a lot of men do not reason like you do. I just read a post about a man who fancies dominant women and because we are thought to be docile and know "our place" a lot of people including men suppress such expressions. Yes, sexual orientation and preferences are ways we express ourselves.

As for no. 6, there are infact women who would gladly do those jobs if it puts food on their table without it causing a stigma that will cause the prospective husbands to flee. At least that's what we are made to believe.
