frenchwine: ITK no be only you get A1 for English. Op is still right and both spellings are correct : Tire (American English) , Tyre (British English) Before you correct someone in a public forum, double-check and recheck. What is wrong with Nigerians even? What is wrong with correcting someone who one feels has erred? What's your definition of ITK? . You who claims to know better than the so called ITK, you are also wrong.Who told you the Original Poster is right? The fact that Americans spell it that way doesn't vindicate him. The Original Poster is wrong. Say no to adulteration of the English we speak and write in Nigeria. We don't officially speak or write Am E. What we speak or write is purely British so he is WRONG for writing "tire" instead of "tyre". QED. |

He did not insult nurses; he only aired his view but what did he get? "Then jump into the lagoon". I wasn't surprised to read his response though. Nurses r trying to launder their dented image n u r here jeopardising their efforts. Nhenhye, I dare say u are a square peg in a round hole. |

HaneefahRN: I know there are bad nurses, we have also had encounters with them, worked with some, etc. I believe it all boils down to personality, I have met and worked with wonderful nurses and some bad eggs. I am a good nurse myself. Some people just have that bad personality, I wonder why they chose nursing then. An impatient and temperamental person can't make a good nurse. People seem to capitalize on the bad ones though, plus the media seems to promote negative things about nursing and nurses. Sometimes the workload gets to some people which can make them flip and like someone said some patients and relatives like to test one's patience. 'Like I once had a patient whose relative came with all intent to frustrate the nurses, any little thing or request, she becomes rude. She later told the matron she has heard nurses are rude (that stereotype), and has come prepared for us. We all ignored her and when she saw how we related with her relative and all, she calmed herself down and came to apologise). And the ITK relatives too, like one that was telling us not to administer diclofenac for her mum that it makes her sleep and that she prefers diazepam. Stuffs like that. Bad actions are usually more noticeable than good ones. Let's just hope there is a considerable number of good nurses. May God help Nigerian patients, Amen. |

Nurses r so rude that I banned going to the hospital(if the illness will require the attention of a nurse) since 1999 and God has been helping me. I resort to natural means of treatment on occasions like that. Their rudeness is appalling and I can't stand them. |
Career › Re: Nurses Forum: Let's Meet Here by dickt(m): 7:18am On Apr 20, 2016 |
intrepid: Because it still registers erroneously in many Nigerian minds that nurses aren’t good people. And this comes mainly from warped understanding of what nurses go through and what sacrifices they make sometimes, unknown both to patients and relatives just to see that you are alive.
Respect nurses. They keep you alive Tell that to the birds. Only a handful of nurses make such sacrifices. And as long as majority are insensitive to patients' plight and r rude to patients, I can't respect nurses. Never!!! I hate them for being rude to patients that they ought to pamper. . Sometimes there is work pressure or provocation from doctors who r suffering from superiority complex but that's not enough reason to be unnecessarily rude to patients who on many occasions are even far older than you. What happened to respect for elders, huh? . Sometimes I wonder if Nigerian nurses have special training on how to be rude considering the height of rudeness they display to sick people. |

DivaFiva: Many "important" issues to trash like what? Women are favored with jobs?? In case you haven't noticed, any job that required actual TECHNICAL skills or CRITICAL thinking are supposedly left for the men while women become Make up artist, beauty pageant contestants, secretary and the likes. I do not consider those favorable.
In case you missed it, an assumption I made was a thriving economy!
You are not a woman so I do not expect you to easily empathize with what they have to suffer when they have to BEG or ASK someone else for almost every thing.
You can dismiss expression for all I care but I believe a lot of men do not reason like you do. I just read a post about a man who fancies dominant women and because we are thought to be docile and know "our place" a lot of people including men suppress such expressions. Yes, sexual orientation and preferences are ways we express ourselves.
As for no. 6, there are infact women who would gladly do those jobs if it puts food on their table without it causing a stigma that will cause the prospective husbands to flee. At least that's what we are made to believe. Be reliably informed that men who like to be dominated are unnatural or otherwise known as counterfeit men. They are not behaving the way God intended them to behave so you don't have to judge the men folk based on their inclinations, actions or inactions |

It's disheartening that humans have decided to go against nature in all ramifications forgetting that when you do so you face dire consequences. Now there are genetically modified foods everywhere which are the cause of several illnesses. . Now it's feminism. The feminist movement is against nature, against the creator's plan but christians are supporting it. . God said man is the head of the family but the feminist will say (in Destiny Child's voice) always 50-50 in relationships. Think about it |

God created man & woman with diff capabilities.Men are better in certain things while women are better in others & it's natural but feminists don't want men 2 enjoy their area of specialisation alone even though they are not putting foward the area of specialisation of the females for the males 2 enjoy too.Is that not selfish? U want to share with me but when you have more than me, you keep it 2 yourself.Counterfeit men that support feminism, be wise so you & your kids won't become a victim later on like the U.S. men have. |

I know some foolish men who can rightly be termed counterfeit men have already bought this gender equality thingy. To those men I say, don't be too gullible. It's counterfeit men in the U.S. that allowed women to topple them rightwise. Now if there's a set of persons that don't hav rights in the U.S., it's the straight male folk. What caused it? The feminity struggle. Gays, women , kids, etc have more rights. They were struggling for equality , got it , kept struggling and now they have more rights . Now the Nigerian females want to do same to us. It won't work |

If women feel our fore fathers cheated them so they want to take their pound of flesh frm us, it's wrong. Were you alive when our fore mothers were cheated? No. Was I alive? No. So how come you want to take it out on me? If women start truly struggling for healthy and biblical equality, I will lend support but for this selfish meantime, I'm vehemently against it. |
