The Federal road safety commission has reacted to a viral video showing one of its officials fighting with a woman in the Northern part of the country.

PoliticsNGR has obtained a statement signed by Bisi Kazeem, the Corps commander in charge of Public Enlightenment and it reads;

The attention of the Management of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has been drawn to a trending video footage on social media, especially Facebook and WhatsApp which shows members of the FRSC patrol team engaging in a fight with a female driver and a passenger during a patrol duty along Jalingo-Wukari route in Taraba state.

In line with the existing policy of the Corps on fighting involving its personnel on patrol, the Corps Marshal ordered a preliminary investigation into the matter which revealed that the affected patrol team was from Taraba State Sector Command. That in the course of its patrol along the route, a female driver was sighted driving without wearing a seat belt, upon which she was stopped for consolidation of the offence by a member of the patrol team.

In the process, the offender flared up on the grounds that she was on seat belt; retorting and shouting on top of her voice with verbal insults on the arresting marshal who got provoked and retaliated verbally to the altercation.

In the ensuing arguments, the front seat passenger who was also identified as mother to the offending driver, not only prompted her to physically attack the arresting marshal using her shoe but joined in the attack, while the marshal fought back, though not in our character as an organisation that is very civil and disciplined

Members of the public are hereby informed that in view of the standing policy of the FRSC on issues of indiscipline among its personnel and vehemence with which the Corps Marshal holds issues of fighting involving its personnel on patrol duties, he has ordered full investigation into the matter to determine the background, the cause and culprits of the unfortunate incident.

In addition, the Corps Marshal has directed that the affected personnel appear before the Federal Road Safety Corps Disciplinary Panel at Zone 3 Headquarters Yola, Adamawa state to face charges of fighting and conduct unbecoming of Officers and gentlemen of the Corps.

FRSC Management regrets the embarrassment caused by the ugly incident to members of the public and strategic stakeholders of the Corps whose supports have led to the high-level disciplinary standards the Corps has been known for over the years.

According to an instagram user from Togo, here is a video and pictures shared on his instagram page. The woman buried her baby alive and was later arrested. This pulled crowd to the house and the spot where the baby was buried.

Honestly, this woman does not deserve any form of mercy. She is evil. If she could do this, then, she doesn't deserve to live.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, December 5th, pardoned 500 inmates of the Kurmawa Central Prisons in Kano metropolis as part of federal government’s efforts to decongest prisons. Buhari granted the pardon when he arrived at the place in company with the state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and others.

The prisoners include males and females.

The president also gave the inmates N1000 to transport themselves to their respective homes, according to mulitple trending reports online.

The president advised the affected inmates to be of good behaviour and shun anything that could bring them back to prison.

Chief Charles Idahosa, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned the party leadership to put its house in order and be careful of loyalists of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice- President who recently dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Idahosa, in an interview with INDEPENDENT said he is worried because Ahmed Makarfi, National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the PDP recently granted an interview where he said many of Atiku’s loyalists are staying behind in APC now for ‘strategic reasons’ and will join him in the PDP at the last minute.

“I strongly believe that the APC still has to do a lot of homework because I am very scared. I read an interview by Ahmed Makarfi recently where he said the PDP is expecting a harvest of defection after Atiku’s move from the APC”.

“He now said and I quote “As a strategic reason, we don’t expect a lot of people to move to the PDP now. People are in APC for different reasons. Wait for the time when anybody will be on his own, you will see the influx of people into the PDP”.

‘He said some of Atiku’s men are still in APC for strategic reasons. That is my fear. There are so many of Atiku’s supporters who will stay behind in the APC and leave at the last minute. Don’t forget what Aminu Tambuwal did to PDP. As Speaker of the House of Reps, he waited till the last minute before joining the APC”.

“Of course, these supporters can cause havoc for the party. I just quoted what Makarfi said now. He said some of his supporters are still in APC for strategic reasons. He also said there are those who are still in APC and didn’t move with Atiku for different reasons”

“So, the APC needs to be careful. Some people are in there to do havoc. We must understand that there are some corrupt people who don’t like what President Buhari is doing .

They will do everything possible to make sure the president does not return in 2019. Many of them believe if Buhari could do this in four years, what will he do if he now gets another four years? So, we have to watch it in APC and put our house in order”.

Mr Frank you may have your point on some of the issues you raied but one area you must be obvious is the reason why Atiku left. It is a well known fact that Atiku left because he felt that with Buharis' full recovery, he has no chance to pick APC ticket. It has nothing to do with your prediction or internal democracy in the party. I can assure you that yes, more people will still decamp but I still doubt any realignment that can stand buhari's popularity. As for the leadership of the party, I will agree that they have made their mistakes in some areas because they are of course humans, but the very vital area they have been outstanding is their ability to hold the party and ensure it has not been hijacked by some..........

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has said that he wants to be Nigeria’s President because he has something in his head that can change the country within the shortest possible time.

The Governor who is currently being lambasted by Nigerians for appointing his sister as Commissioner for Happiness and Couples’ Fulfillment said this n an interview with Channels TV.
