El Guapo: [color=#0066ff]Nice Game by the lads. . .didn't watch though but frm what Ma Dudes at Dailymail have got to Comment about it i fink its al superb. . .Lets Go there! cheesy

Can I Add this to The Arguement. . .

Lampard

In contrast to Gerrard, it is easy at times to miss the contributions of this highly motivated individual such is the wonderful simplicity of his passing game. One or two touches, he rarely takes more when that middle ground becomes unbearably congested.
There is no-one better at it either; no-one more skilled in the art of the quick-fire pass under pressure, having expertly worked out distances and angles before the ball arrives at his feet. Those calculations often result in a diagonal first-time pass over the top where, in the good times, Didier Drogba could be seen racing away. If that's not on, Lampard will choose something a little more conservative, if equally impressive in terms of peripheral vision and ability to spot the right pass in the blink of an eye. From a positional point of view, he is probably more disciplined than Gerrard, more suited to following a rigid game plan.
Never was this firm grasp of tactics better showcased than during RDM's Last Season UCL Run when Lampard sat deep to provide defensive cover in a 4-2-3-1 formation – a performance all the more worthy given his natural game. Arriving in the box with exquisite timing and hitting the target with a snap shot – now that's
more his style. Nobody in the world, I think, has done it for so long at the top level with quite so much success.
An unquenchable thirst for practice undoubtedly helps. There aren't many footballers who can honestly say they've done everything humanly possible to reach their full potential. Lampard can. The ultimate pro, he's a credit to the
game. cool

Now før the 2nd Possible time am goin' with Ibime On an Issue! wink

Omo just saw d highlights of our 1st match dis season. Lukaku must not leave on loan o!!!RDM and Co. Una don hear? Meanwhile,am not a fan of Lampard cos I love players wey sabi dribble yet,he shytes on Gerald and Co. all day everyday. Plus,Nateevs U will do well to stop comparing upcoming players like Oscar and the rest of 'em to Legend Lamps!! The guy fit no dribble like messi, ronaldinho, modric,Oscar and okocha burr, lamps surely dey EFFECTIVE and Efficient. If u ask of ma Opinion,I fink he will still shyte on all dis newbies.

nateevs: I am a massive fan of Piazon and I rate him alongside Feruz, Chalobah and Bamford as one of those that have a realistic chance of breaking into the first team. That said, Oscar is light years ahead of Piazon in every aspect of football. Why are we buying Oscar? Well sometimes, you go out of your way and splash on kids that have a massive potential of making it very big. Why should we let Spurs him when we can impress Oscar with money and prestige?

I think the club is playing a smart one here. After AVB was sacked, he was scouting players in Brazil. Oscar is one of those players ear-marked by AVB. Oscar seems already like one of those Brazilians that have greatness written all over them. Sometimes, you invest in these sort of players, not because they are particularly ready to be first team material but a shot, a gamble at the future that just maybe, he could be golden.

The calibre of players being sought after in this window continually points to a massive drift in football philosophy.
. Come Bros nateev dis statement 'b]Sometimes[/b], you invest in these sort of players, not because they are particularly ready to be first team material but a shot, a gamble at the future that just maybe, he could be golden.' reminds me of a certain Kakuta. I still dey wait mk him b d CFC messi o!

nateevs: Who the 4uck is this?
Dude! I am not sure you screamed more than I did yesterday.

However, in the midst of the euphoria, some of us can still stay calm enough to have an insight.
We won the UCL. It's written in history forever. No one can take that away and how we won it will not be remembered in 48hrs.

That said, it's time to build on from here. To be regarded as a true great, we need to win more and to win more, we need a re-build and the analysis begins from yesterday night's game. And I repeat, it was not a spectacle. It's not a case of taking anything away from anyone.

This is one of those cases where, it was bound to happen. Barcelona on another day, would have been 4-0 up at SB. Bayern could have been 4-0 up in the first half alone. What are the chances of Messi, and Robben missing penalties in successive games? Cech is not a penalty GK but he touched all 5 of the 6 penalty kicks against us. What are the chances. We had only one corner kick all game, we had only one shot on goal in first half and 3 shots on goal in 120 mins. It defies all odds that we won the CL. We shouldn't (and I am not ashamed to say that) but we did.

My point is, we have to step up from here and we cannot do so by playing the way we played against Barcelona and Bayern every season. You cannot build a philosophy on that. You can only win 'one' trophy in an awkward way in an awkward season. To win more trophies, there needs to be a rapid and total overhaul of philosophy.

We have a very big season ahead.

Pre-Season, Community Shield, Premier League, FA Cup, Carling Cup, Super Cup, World Club Championship and Champions League and don't forget we need to qualify for top four to meet the CL again which sustains our massive wages. You cannot do this without being realistic. Last night's game defines history but only has a little bearing on the future. Nottingham Forest have won the CL too.

The next season and beyond could easily be a disaster. We cannot afford to be sentimental about last night.

------------------------------------------

For now, have a drink and enjoy the moment.
We won a CL before Arsenal and we knocked Spurs out of the CL.
I'll like to imagine what they think about Ashley Cole now.
. Bros nateevs, na now u mk sense. Didn't appreciate ur earlier comment bout us bin worse dan stoke in terms of our playing style. Burr,I get ur point nw and totally agree wit u. Congrats man. Where ibime dey nw? Also, nice one dk u b correct man.
