Then scan... That way you can have a feel of the multistream function in your decoder by viewing the multistream channels that scan out, in the above frequency




Secondly just like our bro rightly said, you need big dish to experience the server account / autoroll for now. So if you ever choose to experience such by getting a bigger dish. Below are some satellite position to look out for



13e, 39e, 4w, 30w
9e, I w, 1 9e .



AFN powervu autoroll @ 5e, 9e, 57e

Then some few package @ 68.5e

Thank you bro for the clearity. I was even thinking that maybe 2.4m in the South West can nail it. But I spoke with olofofo few days ago about it and he said I should be talking of 3.5-4m. I even like the OSN and YES, but both are completely beyond my reach except with 3.5-5m.

My brother you don see how the journey use idea long small. E be sweet sha, but na all the things involve make the matter nor dey too carry much vibes like stations on small dish. During the course of your research you came across an information that you decided to share here.

Two people decided to give a feedback to the real life experience on some of the paths that may likely be taken. To bring the usefulness of that information to reality.

The information you dropped is a good one but is not really a topic that is openly discussed here anymore. Will go a long way to bring more light to some of the things you may have overlooked or not considered.

What our bro said above is absolutely right and the bolded will be easy to relate by anyone who has been in that world for some time. Because if your existing decoder you have in your house does not come with a server/ account that can open it. Then you have to pay for it, before such a decoder can become useful for such a purpose. However, if your decoder fall short of doing that, then, you must purchase a specific device ( decoder) that falls into the category of doing such.

One way or another, you just ended up spending a dime, if you fall into the above two categories.

OSN, is not a free channel, however through backyard door some people with bud dish dey watch am with specific device/account.

So gather better money to buy bud dish and create space for your compound to mount am. Then buy the decoder or account that can open it.

I once had a FTA decoder with the big dish years back, no longer in use due to relocation

Back Then, i read from this thread how to get more channels at different positions with some kind of software installed to the decoder with a flash (this has been a longer time, can't remember what the name of the software/process was, sorry )

I'm planning on getting a decoder again and I'm considering FTA one

My question, is free to still a good buy now(and what the best buy is)?

Can i get any kind of sport channels on it?

Are there other things needed to be done to get good channels like sports?

Also are big dish still necessary now? Because i see combo of 2-3 smaller dish around with so many bands on them these days

I may be wrong but if I am not mistaken, your number one priority is sports and any other thing is just to while away time.

So I am going to build my own little contribution on that foundation.

To begin with, One will notice that you once had a particular kind of decoder that was used with a big dish to view some specific channels on a sat position.

Definitely it wasn't an FTA channels because you must have been viewing premium sport channels on it back then.

Which for now will make big dishes still relevant, should you still choose to want to have such kind of feel again. Because such kind of decoder that does such a thing are still in the market and one of our brother here will give you all the info you need to get started.


However, when you choose to satisfy the curiosity of the combo of small dishes to satisfy your quest for sports. It may likely be a series of random FTA channels , located at various sat position.

I am not a sports person so my information is inconclusive but only just a baseline.

So when it's just watching sports strictly on FTA without any backyard door. Names like these begins to whisper in my ears

Ourtv located as 32.9 degree east

Ourtv sports located at 42.5 degree east

Gtv sports/ max TV located at 28.2 degree east.

Just to name a few I can possibly remember.

I believe strongly that many sports fan in the house will come and help me to do justice, in helping you make the right decision.

The problem with strong LNB for sometime now in my own opinion is that, there are like LG tv, that has fake and original.

But let me stay on topic, the number two LNB from my experience outsmart the other two when it first came out. If you are using it to track satellite from 36 degree to 5 degree in percentage gain.

I can remember back then, when mbc Rodrigues at 7 degree east was a hype on watching football. It gave a much stronger signal on 60CM dish

For over two weeks, all that has been talked about here centres on the word possibility. So the answer to your question is yes.


You can consider this sat position to suit your needs.

51.5 degree east

42.5 degree east

32.9 degree east

28.2 degree east

Just to name a few.

The Particular MBC HD he is referring to is located in 26 degree east ku band. However it's not receivable with 90CM dish but from 3m up. Except you have such kind of big dish. It will be irrelevant asking for tp.

Let me explain why my confusion lies here ;

There is another or alternative site for strong decoder patch-software ( you even gave me one yourself) and I did update mine there a few days ago. Also, there is an official website where a strong decoder user can update their decoder.

Now, what I want to know is, can the patch be done on the stated or this alternative approach via the" strong decoder ' through the internet ( as explained by him)without the need for the alternate site for patch software that not official, anymore?

A patch software for strong normally comes from the unofficial website.

So you have to use the one from crosat.

Secondly the essence of that post if I am not mistaken. Is for people who have a dish pointed to the sat that have such channels that requires such keys to keep it open. Like (Afn) which normally is receivable by dish bigger than 90cm.

But our brother yawwilson that gave out that information will be in the best position to reveal more satellite channels that falls into the category of the information he released or hopefully other members in the house. That way everybody that is interested in going that route can easily benefit.

As for me I use it to watch AFN located at 5 degree east, ( though it opens AFN on other Sat position but I prefer the one in 5e because it has the complete AFN channels) under cband with a USB modem connected to my strong 4954 permanently

DVB-S2X denotes Multistream, not DVB-S2.


I'm not sure of Multistream, but I think V7 plus is a T2/S2 combo decoder.
V7 Pro is Multistream capable though.


The Complete MBC channels in HD, plus Alkass sports and other Arabic channels.


That brand of Diseqc is called TARGET.

That setup is bae. I would advice us to go for at least 1.8m dish. The you manipulate LNBF on it and still have quality signals.


Satellite business is growing here in Abuja. People even charge in dollars when installing for expatriate.
