We can now agree that fta needs to be complimented with Dstv.
I can't speak for anyone or everyone. But I belong to the school of thought. That believes in the saying.. " it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it"

Secondly I don't discouraged people from going into Fta if what they can get from it satisfy their needs. It's all about different strokes for different folks.

However, I totally agree with you that Dstv should be in every home to compliment. Especially for most of us that have family members that is addicted to a particular program that only shows on Dstv channel .. You and I know them, ( I call them madam zeeworld ) lol.

Just a few pages back, a brother here said he is making plans to get a 3 meter DISH to get either televista or telemundo. Sorry if I can't remember which to be specific. Which got me thinking, will there ever be the need to go through all that trouble if one has a Dstv decoder laying around in the house ? Which with 1850naira, you can just subscribe and get all those stations that take care of madam's Telenovela/zeeworld series.

But then.... It's all a matter of choices. One man bought Honda for a specific comfort not caring about the maintenance, while another bough corolla just because of fuel and maintenance, then another chose to buy the two because he can afford whichever demands that comes from both. That's just life.

Tstv are on encrypted process now so if you want their premium channels you need to buy their decoder before you can watch their channels.
At least they have tried. We all knew it was a paid station and it was bound to happen sooner or later. That's the definition of enjoy it while it last.

Cool. I reset to factory settings and rescanned but all the channels are scrambled even though my decoder is H.265 compliant. What am I missing please? I am using a gtmedia v9
Sorry for the late reply, I wanted to get home first before responding. I just confirmed that you are right about the channels being scrambled.

So let's wait and see if it is permanent or just a temporal thing. As for me, I won't miss them because I am always glued to those former 3w stations, whenever I turn my decoder on.

You do well bro. Abeg which channels dey for the tstv ish. I dey enjoy this former 3w channels well well on 51.5e. I dey fear say if I move my dish I might find it difficult to get the those channels back.
Bro you are not getting my point oh.. You are already on Tstv position na.. You don't need to move your dish at all. Just blind scan the same satellite you are using to get those former 3w station and it will come up. Once your decoder is H.265 enabled

Strong 4954 multistreams now with the last software patch. You are welcome
Bro.... Nobody dey talk of mutistream oh..

That one na old story.

Strong 4954 is totally useless for someone who wants to watch those H.265 channels.. Like Tstv for example.

The decoder is just like strong 4663 that year, when joy TV stations come out. Everybody begin rush to buy strong 4669., if you get my drift

Dstv Now app is what I use..

Below is what your data consumption will be under one hour usage. Depending on which resolution you choose.

So check and see if it fits into the word "economical" Then we can take it from there

Thanks for the response. I am already on 51.5e. I just want to be able to get tstv signals too. I only used the channels that were formerly on 3w but now on 51.5e as reference.
If you've already tracked 51.5e, then, all you have to do is either blind scan or input these Tstv frequency manually

10972 H 30000
11130 H 30000

What is the best STRONG DECODER NOW
Bro for now, 497s happens to fit that description.

But I just hate looking at it when I compare it to 4954. In terms of looks and solidity. The person that designed that 4954 must have a beautiful mind. The decoder too sexy. Sadly it not H.265 enabled. E still dey pain me go reach tomorrow because of that factor . Lol

Bro. Can I add tstv channels on 51.5e with same lnb I am using with the the *former* 3w channels? If yes, then tell me how my guy
If I get this question correctly.. You mean turning the dish facing 3w to 51.5e? If yes, then turn your dish to the east, opposite direction and slide it down using the frequency. It will pop up.

May I add that you should be sure that your dish have the needed space to slide down when turn to the east, or else you have to remount your dish hanger.

But you can correct me if the above explanation does not apply to what you intend to archive. So I can correct what needs to be done.

My Our TV decoder scans and gets all the channels mentioned in the quote below. Saves them but once you try to view them later

Beats plus ( musicals)

Movies Africana ( 24hours African movie)

Tara hd ( 24hours Yoruba movies)

Kidszone ( 24hours carton)

Zee mundo tv ( Indian content)

Rave tv ( Nigerian content)

Will be missing. I have rescanned severally and same result.

Could this be a fault with the decoder? or something else?
They are several ways to deal with that situation, but let's apply the methods one by one and see which works for you.

First method.. Delete the satellite name you created, under satellite list. Then recreate it and scan.

Second method is to do a factory reset but instead of scanning ourTV as your fist satellite. You skip it and create a new satellite, then scan. Go back and make sure the channels are there before scanning the ourTV satellite.

Third is to check very well on your channel list, it should be there, what usually miss is movie Africana and not all the channels you listed. Let me stop there for now

Most channels on frequency 11095(H)30000.
Just like I suspected... The above frequency you mentioned is not for Tstv. The stations there were formally on 3degree west. They just migrated to 51.5 degree of late. So don't get it twisted for Tstv because they are transmitting on the same satellite position. One love.

I stand to be corrected. I have strong 4675A mytv authorize decoder,i scanned my decoder today to receive tstv i got some tstv channels which i guess is not suppose to be so.I want to ask the house how possible, knowing fully well that is an mpeg4 decoder.
When you said you got Tstv channels... The question that comes to mind is, which of the channels are you referring to? Just listing a few will probably give us a clear picture to speak on the matter

As you already know, it's like using a compass. Just calibrate by moving your phone in an 8 motion. After that your keep the phone flat in your palm move to any direction the arrow is pointing in the app screen.

Csat 8 Pro+ has watering features but too fragile.

I would advice anyone here to buy a durable decoder even if it is Tiger or GT media that would cost you up to 28K or more. Please gather your money and buy it. GT media and Tiger Autoroll Biss Keys and Powervu, have inbuilt WIFI, Multi stream with durable components or any Strong Decoders with HEVC, DVB2 H.265.

Csat 8 Pro+ Multistream, Autoroll only Powervu and not Biss. The difference is like buying a Samsung Original Phone and Buying a Chinko phone that claims to have what the Samsung phone has and does.

I had advice here that people with low budget should go for Csat 8 Pro +, but due to high rate of complaints from those who have used it first hand including me; I hereby revert my previous advice.

Thank you.
Bro E be say you be Samsung fan like me, haha.. Anyway you said it all, better soup na money kill am and the taste of pudding is in the eating.

H 264 or H 265 what's the difference
My brother the difference is right in front of you na and you are still asking.

The person who has H.264 decoder was unable to watch those Tstv channels that are currently free to air. Because their channels are transmitting on H.265 video platform.

From a layman's definition .. You can play any vcd disc In a DVD player. But you cannot play any DVD disc in a VCD player

Thank u for dis boss. Can u pls recommend such decoders I can get that d price is not really too costly
One of the common recommendations you will get from this house. When it comes to low budget H.265 decoder is csat 8pro because it is less or not more than 10k (based on the source) and it mutistream

But working into a satellite shop and calling that name and they look at you as if what you are saying is alien.. Then you've to leave name and focus on a decoder in the shop that has the H.265/ HVEC Labeled on it. Which fits into your budget.

Furthermore, Ourtv decoder Is still a low budget decoder (12k) which has that functionality with the possibility still watching channels TV and AIT for free. If that's your thing

Abeg, give us examples of H.265 decoders and prices in Naija.
Examples are strong 497s, Csat pro, ourTV decoder, Tstv decoder. Just for a limited search. But the list goes on and on and on.

So another way but not limited, to know what is looks like is to check what is labeled on the front of the decoder you see in a satellite shop.

Below are some images on what such a label looks like on a decoder. You will either see for example H.265/ HEVC

I am not a marketer so don't take my word for it on prices ranging from 8k to 100k depending on which product you are buying

can I make this setup on 60 cm dish?
I can't tell you yes or no. Because I have never bothered to try it on such dish size. However, I still think there is a possibility but the downside might be a low signal output. When compared to 90cm dish. But don't take my word for it, rather give it a try and update the house. After all, if many of us never used lemon to make lemonade, there would not have been a story to tell from our own perspective and experience

Thank u once again my wonderful boss for dis great guide. I was able to nail it very easily... But the issue now is that All tstv channels are not displaying only playing as audio. Wat could b d cause of dis sir?
That's because your decoder is not H.265. On many occasions I have mentioned that here, for people who don't have compatible decoders to know before tracking.

So you have to make do with the stations tthat is on 11090 v 30000. Or you can get yourself H.265 decoder, if you think it is worth it.

Please Sirs, Is there any brand of Ku-band LNB that can increase signal by 20% or even 10%?

Thanks for your anticipated recommendations.
inverto black ultra or you can still try an LNB that has a 0.2db noise figure

Removing the plastic cover on an LNB still helps to boost the signal a little
