dlollyboi:My brother nor mind me oh, na FTA madness just catch me like 10 years back when Google direct me come this place. I first rush go buy strong 4663 and two 60 CM dish... I rush come back to this place, I hear of c-band, I run go buy 1.8m dish.. I rush come back again, I hear of mbc, osn and micro box... Quickly I connect someone here based in Lagos. I buy 2.4 metre. The dish nor catch osn and bein sport well, na so, I rush go onitsha market for east go buy 3metre dish. That one come finally catch am. After a while I just dismantle everything, go buy dstv keep for house. Funny enough, it was when I start being active again in this forum ten years after, that I decided to go parking store, bring them out. So as to dey updated, just to fit they answer questions that pops up, from the newbies or ideas or new info on sat position. The same reason I was curious about the young man info, but he still chooses to be a funny guy. Which is nice though. Anyway to answer your question, I just counted three 90cm dish, one 2.4metre, one 3metre , then 1m and 1.8 dey for parking store. This FTA can really make one look crazy. Sometimes my wife will just be asking me one question all the time. " so this dstv in this house is not enough for you to watch? " why do you keep turning dish up and down and still you end up not really watching anything ? Then I will reply, it's an old habit that refuse to die na. Lol.. Forgive my long long talk. I just wan make we gist small |
Yinka4dad:How I wish you stated some of the satellite you have been able to track around that axis. Then I would have use it as an easy guide. So please forgive me if I use what you already know as a guide. If you have tracked nigcomsat 42.5 degree east before. Then all you have to do when in that exact position is to bring/ slide your dish down like 2 inches, the signal will pop up, then you tweak for more signal strength. If it's is joy tv position you have perfected in tracking. Then standing behind your dish, shift your dish between one to two inches to your left, then slide it down to like 8 To 9 inches, the signal will pop up. If it is dstv position you have perfected in tracking, then shift your dish about an inch to your left then slid it down to about 6 Inches, the signal will pop up. Also if you are interested in having a mental picture of what that position looks like. It's almost completely down like former mytv position 68.5 east not absolutely but relatively. By the way use 11090 v 30000 to track Your LNB should be at 3.0 clock. Happy tracking Below is a visual image if need be ( the blue dish)

ajaymina:My brother, it's a one love family and so it must continue, at some point people will read wrong meanings to your words but it's left for you to either explain with maturity or start a fight that does not help the forum in anyway to move forward. As for me, I am here to help whenever I can and still to get from both new and old, because nobody has all the time in the world to know it all. Though sadly not everybody gets that, but then life must go on because our brains is not wired the same, when it comes to processing things. The same circumstances that made one man feel so terribly bad and hopeless about life. Is the same circumstances a comedian use to give us a narrative that makes us laugh. The guy is still my friend and I will still be glad if he tells us what he is enjoying with his 1.8. Because FTA to me is very infectious and you can never get enough So any news about something interesting is always exciting for me to hear. One love |
nonut:Oh dear, my brother if you know me in person you will not be so quick to judge me out of context. It really broke me that you took my question out of context. This is an FTA forum and I humbled myself to gain from you, because I was so excited to get a new info of something interesting to track today. But you went ballistic on me, anyway nor vex , I thought we all are operating under a one love family. I never knew that asking a question to gain more Makes me an arrogant person. Anyway God bless you for passing such a quick and hash judgement on someone who took you as a friend. |
sekzy99:My brother I am going to summarize everything that has been pointed out about FTA in the 2207 pages you missed before you came here to ask about it. Here are the key points * If you're a die hard sports fan, get yourself a multichoice decoder (dstv) because fta will either not give you the ability to Watch all the matches or end up disappointing you. Because the station you where hoping to watch it from suddenly goes off, did not show it, scrambled or completely disappeared. *so see FTA as a second option which would not have been a first option for die hard sports fans. If money for sub was never an issue and as such must learn to deal with the disappointment or dissatisfaction that will always come with it. *But can always find happiness with it, just knowing that it's a free gift and should be appreciated for what it really is. *However if they cannot come to terms with that... then, the person should be ready to keep investing on whatever the FTA market throws at you to quench the taste and hunger to watch that premium content for free. Which again can still break some people's hearts, that have not really accepted FTA for what it really is. Further more, it will lead to you having multiple dishes just to face all kind of directions. So as to have multiple options to be able to view what you want at one particular point in time or to keep you not totally bored whenever you put on your TV. * Then, you might find yourself having two, three or even five decoders in your house. Just because each has the ability to do what the other cannot do and you accumulate it as time goes by. * At the end you start thinking of how to create a balance with all the options that exist in the past and the new ones that keep popping up much later. To be continued.... |
nonut:I am curious, what interesting stations will the 1.8 give or better still which satellite position will the 1.8 be facing to get the interesting stations ? |
jiday4:I guess you are a lover of foreign movies. So do add TV universe to your movie list if you haven't done that yet. Enough foreign movie dey waste for there for some time now. Located at joy tv position 28.2 degree east
|
Jaddun:My brother nor vex, I can't be accurate in that regard because it's been ten years or more I ever saw myself using a decoder and TV to track a satellite. However I won't leave your question empty.. So the signal bar is like that of 4669 of that year, which was really good in tracking back in the days. Couple with the fact that the decoder was produced by strong. That has an excellent record in quality when it comes to user friendly features.... Then I am tempted to say oh yeah!! To your question Below is an attached image of what the Dish installation/tracking page signal bars looks like
|
sekzy99:The only way to know anything about it, That will make you find it easily to cross any difficulty you experience along the journey, is to read like the first ten pages of this thread.. Then you fast forward to the last 30 pages of this thread to get the current Happenings in the FTA. Community. That's if you really want to do it yourself ( it requires study study study and practice) if not get the service of a well experienced installer and state your desires. Then both of you can work something out that suits your needs and budget. But let me not leave you empty. So here are some of the basic things to achieve your purpose. *(5/4/3 meter dish, high budget) * or 90cm dish (low budget) ( it can be more than one depending ) *FTA decoder. ( with or without iks account, depending on the sat position you are tracking) *Tracker, if you really want to be in control for a long time to come Cable wire (black type, one roll if possible) F- connector. The above listed are some of the terminology you are likely to hear or come across once you dive into the FTA world. Remember, like I said before, if your are a Diy person, then you really need to devote time to read and read and practice to perfect yourself. But if not a Diy person.. Then simply get yourself an installer who has undergo all that stress to acquire the knowledge over the years. Good luck on whichever choice you make |
psucc:Just for educational purposes, since strong started production, their decoder model number can end with an alphabetical order. They never end it with a full word. For example it can only be SRT 4922 or SRT 4922a But if you see it end with 4922 Max or strongest 4922. Then it's Most likely not produced by strong. |
jiday4:We go just seat down they observe them, occasionally they rescan, just in case. Lol. |
Jaddun:First of all, strong has discontinued the production of 4922 years back. So it is safe to say it's an outdated decoder and may likely not be easily available for purchase brand new in a close by shop However, 4950. Though not relatively close to their newest model but may still be available for purchase for someone on a low budget. But if you are much interested on strong product that is up to date, in terms of hardware and software upgrade. Then you should explore on (1) Strong 4954 (low budget 10-12k) depending on who is selling and a little more advanced than 4922, because it's capable of multistream, through software upgrade. You have the ability to watch AFN with it, if you have a big cband dish . Concur to the internet through 3/4g modem, unlike 4922 that needs a router to achieve that. But it's video decoding stops at H264. Meaning that you will feel left out when certain new stations comes out on FTA. That are transmitting on H265. (2) strong 497 ( high budget and strong flagship decoder, price may range from 19-21k depending on location and place of purchase) this is H265 enable so you don't have to be left out when certain channels are transmitting on FTA. It also comes with an added bonus of using it to watch all the mytv channels for free for one year, because it's an official mytv decoder. It's also multistream . The above are the latest/current , low and high budget strong decoder that you can easily buy from the market. If it fits into the purpose of you wanting to buy a decoder. I believe a lot of people can still add more to these explanations
|
jiday4:Test transmission things can be on and off at some point in time. But it's active for now |
jiday4:Please rescan now.... You know they are on test transmission so signal can be on and off at some point. But right now as I type, the signal is back, so scan now |
Below are channels that will be available for free consumption with their decoder, when they become fully operational
|
A view of the channels currently on test transmission
|
Guys on Nigcomsat, if you haven't already... Please do rescan your decoder. Because SATVIEW NETWORK WILL BE RUNNING A TEST TRANSMISSION TILL ON THE 1st of MAY . CHANNELS ARE BEING ADDED FOR TEST TRANSMISSION ON THIS FREQUENCY 12591 H 26250 NOW YOU HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE TO 51.1 EAST. ENJOY |
Jaddun:Alaba market will provide you with all your needs. |
dlollyboi:Dlollyboi, I dey feel your presence and effort for here... May the good lord continue to strengthen you and empower you with more knowledge . It takes a lot of sacrifice to find time to be able to come here to attend to questions. E nor easy... Remain blessed. |
Nafizzey:PROCEED BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A STEADY SOURCE OF ELECTRICITY BEFORE DOING SO. because if the light goes off during upgrade, it will be a sad story. As for me, I have always done such with three methods to avoid stories that touch. First is to connect the decoder to a ups Second is to use generator Third was to on my inverter. Though I won't say I have not use nepa when I was too lazy to go switch to solar. But I always notice that the duration of that few minutes of upgrade, has always made me hold my breath. Because the nepa in my area can be so annoying at some point. Lol |
I can't remember where someone asked for bet9ja sat position. But let me just drop it here for reference purposes. Astra 4A & SES 5 at 4.9°E ( Startimes position) Tracking frequency 12053 V 30000

SegaWarrior:Below is the direct link to download the latest version https://crosat.us/upload/index.php?action=downloadfile&filename=SRT4950H_V4.39p_29082019.zip&directory=Strong%20Receivers/Strong%20WIZKID%20Files/Strong%204%20Middle%20East& |
Willokafor:Since you have done all that and it did not work... Then it's time to call customer care. They will instantly fix the problem |
bennyflipy:Not too long ago, I was in the house of a friend using strong 4954 . Incidentally he was having the same issue as you. Tvo Vsn action Watsup TV. All had audio but no video. I went to the stb information page and noticed that the software version was a little bit old. Version 2.40. So I upgraded to the latest version, which was 2.68 and just like that, the video started showing in all the above listed channels. I don't know what kind of decoder you are using. But you can as well try and upgrade it to the latest software version. You never know, it could possibly help to resolve that issue. Best of luck. |
bennyflipy:Go to channel edit and check if the video PID number starts and end with 0055. Image attached below for reference
|
bennyflipy:CBC sport and adman tv Stability has never been 100% for as long as I can remember. So take it as a general Phenomenon. Which can be traced to the handy work of the service provider. As regards some channels having audio and no video. I did try to check the Watsup tv you mentioned and TVO , and everything is working fine this morning. So is your watsup tv always with audio and no video all the time or it happens occasionally? VSN xtra is completely off as of this moment so is CBC |
bbally:The last update for it ended with 198p, so you can upgrade to it if your decoder software version is below that.. Click below to download. https://crosat.us/upload/index.php?action=downloadfile&filename=SRT4920_4922_4922A_198p_20161104.zip&directory=Strong%20Receivers/Strong%20WIZKID%20Files/Strong%204%20Middle%20East& |
mbuaba:Try and upgrade your decoder software , if you haven't done that already. |
As you can observe from the above images... From going through the two websites, I was able to get an idea of what channels are on that sat frequency that someone might have posted in the forum. Thereby eliminating the need to ask the person for channel list. If at all I have to ask the person a question, it will no longer be in that line of question. |
Using AzerSpace 2/Intelsat 38 at 45.1°E As a case study and typing it in my Google search bar to see the channels on the frequency 11555 H 30000. First image is from lyngsat Second image is from flysat
|
Xmen149:There are websites dedicated to listing out all the things you stated which I believe you are already aware of.. Like Lyngsat.com Flysat.com Kingofsat.net Though not 100% up to date at some given point in time. But it helps to give you an idea of the names/ number of channels that are in a particular frequency or satellite. That is being mentioned here. So take for example that someone come to this place and inform the house that there are free channels on Satellite= 45.1east Frequency = 11555 H 30000 All we have to do is simply go to the website listed above and search for that particular satellite name/degree. Then scroll down to the frequency 11555 H 30000. Then we will have an idea of the channels transmitting on that sat frequency .. We can also go to the search bar of our google and type " 45.1east lyngsat or 51.5 flysat or 42.5 kingofsat " ( I like using flysat and lyngsat though) then Google will give you the direct link to the page that has what we are looking for. |
mbuaba:No doubt about that. Upgrading the software also helps to solve that issue, most times. So if I may ask, was there a dollar sign in the above two decoders you mentioned that opened it ? |
