DiSEqC switch Versions and their uses :

DiSEqC 1.0, which allows switching between up to 4 LNB in one Set-top Box

DiSEqC 1.1, which allows switching between up to 16 LNB in one Set-top Box

DiSEqC 1.2, which allows switching between up to 16 LNB and control of a single axis satellite motor

DiSEqC 2.0, which adds bi-directional communications to DiSEqC 1.0

DiSEqC 2.1, which adds bi-directional communications to DiSEqC 1.1

DiSEqC 2.2, which adds bi-directional communications to DiSEqC 1.2


Attached is an image showing how you can archive your goal using a diseqc 1.1 or better still a 22khz switch.

I wasn't able to track the signal @ 3:0 clock but easily gets it at 6.0 clock though with quality hovering around 50% plus max.
I decided to improve on the quality yesterday...it improved to 73% plus max but when I scanned the tp 11095 H 30000 the channels didn't pop up... I did a blind scan got Ghallywood and some other channels... But the channels I previously got on 11095 H 30000 didn't show up. Am still at a loss as to what could be the reason for my inability to track the tp 11090 V 30000 @ 3:0 clock.

However did mytv channels come out when you scanned your decoder?

Sorry for the late reply... However you can always chat me up for urgent reply if need be.

Now back to the issue on ground. It's pretty obvious that you have been tracking a wrong location right from day one. So let's remedy that, in that exact position where you got ghallywood. I need you to tight your dish at the back and slide it down between 7 to 11 inches, the frequency will show you either a little signal or a sign. Then you tight the dish and slightly loose the the one at the back, after that move the dish slowly to your left to boost the signal. That should do it.

Remember to track with any of these frequencies

11050 H 30000 or 11090V 30000.

I did not ignore your question. Rather I needed to be 100% sure that what you are looking for is active . Which requires practicality, rather than just what is on paper.

Well long story cut short. Turn your dish to ABS-3A @ 3° West

Track with these frequencies

4115 H 3333 ( without dielectric plate)
3882 H 1667 ( without dielectric plate)


LNB skew =5:30 o clock

With LNB at 3.0 clock... The above frequency shows red. So I wonder how you could have gotten green/ signal with it. Or was your LNB turned to 6.0 clock?



Anyway those channels @ 51.5e are still very much active with this frequency 11090 V 30000. Hopefully I believe you must have resolved it by now.

Yes it is linked to a paid Dstv card. However, when you seat and calculate how many friends and family you have, that are die hard Dstv premium subscribers. Then you can easily find one who don't use such a feature and willing to give you access. That's the only price you have to pay. Which is in translation, free in my opinion.

You can use any existing/available dish in the house. Dish is just dish.. Forget whatever name is stamped on it. That's just for proprietary purposes.

Yes there is a practical way.. First you need to crawl before you can walk, and you need to walk before you can run.


In translation. Start with something easy and work your way up. Most people you see who post multi lnb setup, must have been tracking satellite position for quite sometime, so must have trained their mind, eyes and hand over the course of all these tracking.


So you have to do some practice and experimenting with sat that have close proximity, before you choose to jump into the complex ones.

On the issue of dish size.... 90cm to 1m will do you a lot good for practice

I have been struggling with the 51 E for a few days now and sincerely, the signs were there that I was almost close to the green, and this I have observed from my experience with how I hit green with 28e and 42 e respectively, but this is not the case with 51e. I want to know, what could be the cause for my setback or failure, 60cm dish, my location or my lack of patience, or being a newbie in this bird-hunting?

How does one manage and handle 3 dishes or more facing W and E respectively? For instance, I have 4 dishes, two facing E and the other 2 facing the W, and each two has it's Diseqct attached to them. Now, my question is, how does one connect or manage all of these in one Decoder?

I had a very hectic day yesterday, so the time to type long long sentences nor dey.

Anyway let's begin. Your first question explains you have four dishes connected to two diseqc switches and you want to connect both diseqc switch to one decoder? ( please correct if I am wrong)

If that be the case, it shows you already know how to connect a diseqc switch. So no need to go into that.

But where your number one question sounded out of place, is you have four dishes connected to two diseqc switch. Which brings the question.. Why would you even need two diseqc switch for four dishes? Because there is already a four slot for four dishes in one diseqc switch. I am still trying to wrap my head around that. The only time the need for an extra diseqc switch will arise is if you have more than four satellite position that you want to connect to your receiver.

Then you have two options... You either buy an 8way diseqc switch or you buy a diseqc 1.1 switch and connect two diseqc to it. ( To be continued)

Below are the parameters used for scanning.

Signal on comes up when it at the diseq position of LNB 2 as has always

Scanned with a old H264 decoder and got same stations
What could be the problem as I no longer see Tstv channels even though they have been scrambled

Do a factory reset and remove your dish wire from the decoder. So you can skip not scanning the Ourtv satellite position. Now move to your menu and go back to your installation page, setup/add your 51.5e sat and scan it first. Stations comes up.. You go to channel page to confirm it is all there. After that, you start adding the Ourtv sat/ channels. This always solve that issue of not finding those stations.

I just hope my problem is not from this our tv decoder am using. I have scanned, deleted and rescanned now all I see are Ghana TV stations on 51.5e �

If your dish is correctly facing 51.5e. Then you must make sure your 51.5e is in the right diseqc number. So do try and single out the wire connected to the 51.5e and channel it properly. I strongly feel it's an error on your own path and not the receiver.

When everything else fails (fta stations) ... You can still stream it on your phone, laptop or TV, using the Dstv now app. The data consumption should really be nothing for sports fan like you. Just saying. After all my wife dey use am watch common zeeworld when signal goes off because of rain.. Lol.

It's very much active.. Just remember the signal is not a strong one. So a dish below 90cm might have challenges if that is your case.

I tracked SES 5 via 11919 H 27500...@ 70% signal quality. The needed bet9ja virtuals Pops up via 12204 V 30004 and at 70% but cracking badly...I have tweaked the LNB at that nailing point but still no improvement.....
Do I need to retrack using the bet9ja TPs ( 12204 v 30000 or 12054 v 30000)
NB: LNB at 6/7°clock presently

Since bet9ja is your main aim of tracking... Then it should be your primary tp when tracking.

Except that doesn't work, should you consider your dish pole alignment, LNB and line of sight.

It's been active.. It happens like that sometimes.. Even when they were still in the west. I experienced that, all I did was just track the exact position, leave it there and check it the next day and it was back.
