I believe we all watch the same games. Only an idi0t will say Per's slow nature has had anything to do with the high number of goals we have conceded. The problems are not in the individuals that make our defense. Gibbs- Song - Per and Sagna is a formidable defensive line-up.
In yesterday's game for example, Arsenal was the better side and players like Per actually had a good outing. It will take jaw-dropping heights of idiocy to find any fault in Per's performance in the game against Tottenham |

^^ Yeah, right. That's how simply it is. If we had gotten that second goal when we began to really pressure the totts having equalised, the score-line woulda bn 1-4. Schezny was up to the task but too bad he conceded from 99 yards |

the objective of putting a defensive midfielder in a team is to break up the play. disrupt the flow of the game of the opponents and prevent them from scoring. arsenal lost 1-2 and you are still foolish enough to tell us coquelin excelled at his primary duty? how come he wasn't man of the match and a right back from spurs was adjudged to be the best player on the pitch?
dupe, if you die this way, heaven would reject you and i am sure lucifer would reject you as well. satan hates idiotic herbs! you would be floating in space till eternity. The part in bold is the job of a DM. Coq did that wonderfully. Preventing opposition from scoring is the job of the core defenders. No matter how well a DM performs, he needs the defender to complement his efforts at preventing the team conceding. If the defenders don't rise to the challenge, the team conceeds and you cannot say the DM failed. |

coogar: of course - it's a pass degree. unlike yours, it's f-a-i-l for you.
if you know how much i cop in punditry, you would wanna be like me. but your intelligence is too low to even cope. That was funny. Tell us how much you cop or accept you are a buffoon coogar: see this slowpoke, so defensive midfielders don't create chances, scoring attempts, even get into aerial contests? you are a miserable sod! so you now agreed arsenal's 5 midfielders swallowed spurs' 2 man midfield - what did i tell you at first? coquelin contributed to arsenal going forward. you guys claimed he swallowed modric - how? coquelin's role was to prevent spurs from scoring - in the end, spurs won and created plenty of chances. if that does not tell you coquelin failed his task then you need to lend your brains to a monkey.
per was supposed to do an oliver bierhoff up front - except that arsene wenger have no traditional winger. it's a shame for a manager trying to win the premier league - for all his industry, gervinho is not a traditional winger, neither is arshavin or walcott! arsenal solely depend on sagna or clichy to supply the crosses. since clichy left, i doubt gibbs can cross the ball. never seen him do it.
if that was man utd looking for a goal at the death, they would have gotten one. nani, giggs, valencia, fletcher, evra, fabio, rafael, js park. . . .would have supplied at least 15 crosses in 5 minutes with hernandez or rooney scoring from one. for arsenal's plan b to work, they need traditional wingers. You are the tool in this forum. Coq's job was to win tackles and he did that well. If a player passes the ball just before Coq tackles him and it results in a goal, you blame the real defenders and not the defensive midfielder. I re-iterate that with all the attackers in front of Coq, he had no business going forward. He excelled at his primary duty |

coogar: i have a degree in soccernomics! Must be a pass degree coogar: who the heck is coquelin? ohhhhh, i remember the hatchet man who did nothing offensively all day. he won all his tackles, made some 5 yard passes here and there too. but,he made 0 key pass, had no scoring attempt for himself, no aerial contest, etc. coquelin should be playing for stoke fc. the only thing he did well all night was his tackles. he won every tackle he attempted.
square pegs in a round hole! Later, u say you have a degree. For someone playing behind Arteta, Ramsey, Walcott, Gerv and RvP i think Coquelin's main assignment was to tackle and leave the attack for the aforementioned players. I just proved that your soccernomics degree is from Oluyole |

StarBoard: Hopelessly one-sided analysis. You didnt have as many clear cut opportunities in that second half.Spurs had at least three chances to score but were profligate.Adebayor and Bale had opportunities to tie up the game.Friedel had almost nothing to do thanks to effective defending by Kaboul & king. On the other hand Gervinho and Walcott left their brains at home. You had the possession but you didn't hurt Spurs with it. Spurs rightfully deserved to win.Arsenal were all over the place. Give props to who should get them instead of moaning classlessly Profligate? I think not. Schezny was too good for them all to pass through. I dont see any moaning here,i simply explained their win was not a convincing win and like you said, some Arsenal attackers just didn't show up. Shikena |

coogar: modric did well considering the useless tactics redknapp deployed.
modric and parker were outnumbered by arsenal's 3 central midfielders. bale was out wide and van der vaart on the flank never even bothered to do any sort of tracking or tackling. see song's goal-assist as reference. but even with that, opta is telling me modric created 2 attempts, had 3 scoring attempts of his own, and won 3/5 tackles. he worked harder than all arsenal midfielders despite being outnumbered! this guy no dey tire. Na you sabi ball pass. I am sure your stats have proved you wrong and instead of you to shut it, you still gibber. I dare you to paste the stats and lets see if even Coq didn't shitt on Modric |

We had the game in our hands after the equalizer. It was that kinda game we would have won 4-1 had some players risen to the challenge.
Tottenham looked pitiable after we equalized, we didn't take advantage and Walker got lucky from 1000 yards. That takes a deal of luck. Not exactly a convincing win |

Today's game could easily have swung in any direction. Tottenham is still that pathetic clueless team they have always been. They won't always find Arsenal like this - with our make-shift defense, vital players like song having to play out of position and players like Ramsey getting 90mins due to injury to Wilshere. Players like Gerv and Walcott not imposing themselves having just returned from short injury spells is more reason why Tottenham should have performed better. But they got the results and that's of utmost importance.
It means Tottenham at their best is barely better than a injury-hit Arsenal.
Form is temporary. |

Obertan doesn't even start every game at N'castle. He is so shitty, no top club was interested in him. coogar: who is jack wilshere compared to moda? Who is Luka Modric compared with Cesc Fabregas? You are probably better than Fagottson who signed a useless Obertan. coogar: luka modric has a good first touch, he can pass, he can shoot, his link-play is one of the best in the league in spite of his little size. That's Jack Wilshere. Coogar, I'ld take it lighter on you if you compared Modric with Jack. Not Cesc Fabregas |

coogar: this is why i stopped coming to this thread. . . . .with such shyte analysis. Shyte analysis my balls. Why not wait till Modric makes that move to a 'better' team before you compare him to a player of Fab's pedigree. Plus Tottenham is definitely a good team, not in the same class as Wigan. We judge a player on facts and not what-may-be-if-he-moved. Fab's stats speak for him. There is no basis for comparing Fab and Mod |

coogar: to be perfectly honest, the two of them have the same ability. imagine what luka modric would look like in chelsea or man utd? see the mayhem ashley young is causing at man utd? only last season, you would have argued theo walcott is better than him! The part in bold is what I do not agree with. Luka scores 3 goals per season and you think he is as good a midfielder as Fab who not only scores far more goals, but sh1ts on Modric on the assist table. coogar: fabregas was a bigger nonentity in his debut season. . . .he was young though but it doesn't say a lot. he got into the limelight in 07/08. played well in the first half of that season then fizzled out in the second. . . . modric is superb quality and he's not a sick-note like cesc. his price tag was £40m in the summer whilst fabregas was less than £30m. No point. If not that Fab would not consider to a move to any other club, Fab would be worth £6OM if Modric commands £40m. Face it |
