So I was looking for a car with a budget of 1.25m. Got a matrix from a dealer who happen to be the dad of my friend.

He said he has checked the car and it's very very good with sound engine. Got it for that price with abeg.

Less than a month driving it only to work not up to 5 times I've spent almost 300k on the car. Mechanic is telling me engine has fault.

It's barely 2months I got the car. Used almost 1month to sort the papers and my first month using the car all this came up.

What will you advice? I'm not experience that's why I went for someone I knew who is a dealer. Is this normal?

BTW is serpentine belt not the same as timing belt?

OEM belt . any time I talk the price, they say I am a thief.

Guys , i have come to realize we Nigerians just follow the trend without proper research especially tye trended ideas about HONDA Cars not strong enough or always has leg pull.
Honda's are reliable cars ,durable and strong with great fuel efficiency and availability of parts , but most Nigerians tend to believe say na all Honda's wai dey get Leg pull or wai no strong ,bros na big lie be that ..
The so called Leg pull Bolt joint can accure to Any car , Toyota Camry ,Corolla ,Benz and others which in have Also come a cross on..its just the legligence of the driver who didn't take note of the signs it gives before the pull off,it might have given signs for days ,weeks or even months ,some drivers sef go notice am but want manage the car since e dey still move them from point A to B
Factors considard for the bolt joint or leg pull in cars are :
1 ..fake parts (Bolt joint )
2. ...bad road
3. Worn out bolt joint ...
Would have elaborated on the above factors but I know say Naija citizens no like to Read at all ..lol make I no write too much on that ..una No know Book ..na so so Short cut una sabi ..

So lets have the mentality that Honda's are great cars just like the Toyotas and also other makers of cars could face same leg pull rather than think it only happens to Honda ...I hope una don get small sense from this one abi ...this small sense na free of charge I give some people now...

Good evening Gazzuz. Thanks for always being there for us. I visited my brother this evening and all he did was complain about his car. He recently purchased from a previous owner and car has never behaved since. The car is Accent 2014. He complained that the car has poor acceleration and low power and will usually go of when ac is turned on. All these have persisted despite changing coils and plugs. I started engine and noticed car was not idling properly, was just going up and down. Car hesitates a little when pedal is depressed. He also said the car will sometimes just pick a day to behave like brand new. Please what will you advice he checks or change to solve this problem. I was also wondering if you’d be willing to accept the car in your workshop. Thanks

Leg pulling in honda accord was corrected from 2008 upwards, i believe this is lack of maintaince. Any car can pull leg if not maintained, yesterday i saw a corolla with the leg pulled out though i forgot to take pics.
