There are so many car pros here oo! From the perspective of a car owner I'll tell you to stick to what the manufacturer of the engine says.These arguments and counter-arguments is the reason my people carried abro ATF to pour inside Murano transmission!
Many of you arguing up and down have not seen the sludge 20w50 forms in many engines. (Especially Toyotas and Hondas) if you say oil na oil abeg just shun all these oil grade arguments go buy retail oil dey flex your car.

Don't kill urself because of Toyota check engine light bros, that light will always come for a Toyota in that year except you replace o2 sensor. What should bother you is the noise, pls see a technician asap o

Park the car at the mechanics workshop and ensure you leave the car to cool for at least 24 hours before fixing else your transmission will fail after fixing the issue mentioned.

Give respect to whom respect is due Bro.. ..na your fellow Nigerias that drove up these crappy USA spec Asian cars at the auction.. Instead of them to import from SA and Europe that is even closer and cheaper to Nigeria.....

Why is the 1.6 engine has low supply? Keep in mind Dana Motors imports them and I know for sure Hyundai has a factory in India that makes some of these cars... And those cars are not built for the USA market, there is a reason why does cars built in India are not for the USA market.....

Also Toyota has a factory that builts Corolla cars in South Africa. You can't compare it with the USA spec.. There is a reason for that , and there is a reason why USA spec Corolla cars are flooded in the market.....

Unfortunately whether we like it or not ,Nigeria has become a dumping ground for low quality cars .. You can buy a brand new Chinese car 2020 for 2million naira , while USA tokunbo car cost 2million naira .......

But the reason is simple - African market is warped by poverty..The one with high demand is cheaper because it's the variant used in the US and therefore used ones are available. Businessmen are willing to invest because there's a ready market for it. Don't forget many are bought used from the US. .Higher supply, more availability, relatively cheaper prices....The African variant is sold in very low numbers since many Africans can't afford brand new cars.. low sales means cheap used parts are unavailable..furthermore the demand is low since only few were bought ..no incentive for businessmen to bring them in- scarcity and high price result..Poverty screws things up in ways unknown to Economics...which is why economic theories don't work in Africa..
